Chapter 20 - Chapter Twenty

Nora searched the closets for her favorite choice of clothes. She chose a pair of blue jeans trousers and a big orange top to go with it. Diego on the other hand was studying her figure before choosing some set of clothes for her. After he was done, he moved closer to her whispering to her making her jump up in fright.

"Can you stop doing that? You scared the shit out of me." She continued picking some other items while ignoring the fact that her heart was beating fast.

"Are you done?" he asked, moving his face closer to hers.

Nora looked at him wondering why he was so happy about her being here with him. Could it be it is his first time taking a girl out? She folded her arms waiting for him to explain himself.

"It's time for your makeover," said Diego.

"My what?"

Diego touched her hair. "You need a new hairdo..." He touched her face. "... your face needs a little touch..." he paused when his eyes went to her lips. He remembered how her lips touched his lips in the car. He quickly pulled away. "Let's go, shall we?" He led her out of that place to the makeover center. "You also have to wear this gown." He handed her a white gown which she collected from him.

"No." She returned the gown to him.

"Yes. " he threw it back to her. "You are going to be a model soon, you'd better get used to wearing this kind of dress." They arrived at the makeover center. He opened the door for her like the gentleman that he is.

"Hi, Diego." A pretty young lady in her early thirties greeted him with a smile on her face.

Diego hugged her and pecked her cheeks. "Nice to see you again Lindsay."

Lindsay glanced at Nora, who was busy staring at the place. "Your girlfriend?" She asked with a disapproving face. "Not your kind of girl."

Diego laughed. "Get her a new look; new hairstyle, clear those spots out of her face, and make her look gorgeous. I bet you can do that."

"Fine. Just pretend you didn't hear what I just said." Lindsay called Nora and took her to the room where the necessary treatments would be forgone. Diego sat down waiting for her.

Inside the room, Lindsay was giving Nora weird looks which made her feel so uncomfortable. "Who are you to Diego?" She asked gesturing her to sit down while she applied lotion cream on her face.

"Um..." Why am I being interrogated right now? Nora asked herself.

"I am his aunt and I don't want any girl coming into his life hurting my baby boy."

Wait a minute! does she think I am dating him? Nora almost puke at the thought of it.

"I am his model." Nora quickly corrected the impression Lindsay was making about her and Diego.

Lindsay realizing she had misjudged the whole thing apologized. "I just don't want him getting hurt again."

Hurt again? Nora wondered. There is quite a lot she doesn't know behind those smiles of his.

"As an apology, I am giving you this treatment and makeover for free just promise you that you won't tell Diego about any of this."

"Um...Ok."

Lindsay smiled. "I am Lindsay Morgan and you?"

"Eleanora Bell but you can call me Nora."

They got close in such a short time. Chatting about silly things and Lindsay knew exactly how to get words from people's mouths. It was among the things she likes doing but moneymaking comes first in line.

Diego was busy pressing his phone when a call came in and it was from Kelvin. He was supposed to bring his model today so they could do some shoots. Diego picked up the call. "Hey bro..."

"Where are you?" Kelvin cuts in.

"I will be right there."

"You'd better have a good explanation for coming late." And with that said Kelvin hung up.

"How does she look?" Diego heard Lindsay say as his eyes turned to look at Nora, he couldn't help but stand to his feet with his mouth opened. She was stunning. The white gown he got for her fits her perfectly and he could see things she was hiding in those baggy dresses of hers.

"Does it look that bad?" Nora asked with a sad expression on her face.

"Bad you say? Girl, you look amazing."

Nora breathe out a sigh of relief and so did Lindsay.

"Thanks a lot." Diego brought out his card to pay but Lindsay refused. "You are rejecting money?" Diego asked in shock because he knew how much his aunt loves money - to the point that she divorced her husband because of the reckless spending of his own money.

"She seems like a sweet girl." Lindsay winked at Nora. Nora understood so she replied with a smile.

"Ok. Just don't come back asking for it." He kept his card back in his wallet.

Lindsay smiled. "Just get out of here." she pushed him out of her office but hugged Nora "Don't hurt him." were the words she whispered into her ears.

Nora froze for a second before regaining herself. "Thanks." Lindsay bade them goodbye as they left the company.

They were on their way out of the company when someone bumped into Nora making her drop the clothes she bought on the ground. The guy assisted her to pick up the clothes and he put the clothes inside the bag. "I am so sorry. I was in a haste and I didn't notice you. " He handed the bag to her.

Nora froze as she saw herself staring at Michael. The guy that broke her heart and shattered it into pieces. She collected the bag from him and was about to leave when he held her hand pulling her back to his side. "Do I know you?" He asked, staring at her. "It's just that you look familiar."

Diego had already left thinking she was following him but when he turned and she wasn't there, he rushed back inside. "Nora...I thought you were..." he paused when he saw a familiar face holding her hand. He was the guy Kelvin went to meet the other day. What is he doing here and why is he holding her hand? Do they know each other? There are a lot of things he doesn't know about her.

She quickly jerked her hand away from his grip pushing her way out but Michael caught up to her "Nora." he called as she stopped and turned to face him.

"What do you want Michael?"

Michael moved closer to her staring at her from head to toe and into her eyes where they lingered. "You look beautiful." He told her. He had never seen her wearing fitting gowns and here she was wearing a white fitted gown that brought out her hourglass figure. He couldn't stop staring at her.

Diego didn't know what to do all he needed was a sign from Nora that she was uncomfortable and he will come to her rescue, but she seemed to be handling the situation well so he stood and watched.

Nora scoffed. "I don't have time for this." She tried to leave, but he held her hand again.

"Nora... I.."

"You what?" She asked. Without waiting for him to speak, she said, "I don't know you...So stay away from me."

She turned to leave again, but he held her, but this time Diego came to meet them, separating Michael's hand from Nora's wrist. "You heard the lady...stand aside." He held Nora's hand and took her to his car. He opened the door for her and helped her fix her seat belt because she didn't do it herself. He glared at Michael, who just stood there staring at them. Diego went over to the driver's seat, started the engine then zoomed off.

White came over to meet Michael when he noticed the commotion from inside the company. "Are you okay?"

Michael kicked the air in frustration. "Dammit."

"You are confusing me, Mike, are you doing this just to lay with her, or are you still in love with her?"

Michael looked at White. White had to swallow back his words because the way Mike was glaring at him, he could just do something unexpected to him.

"Do I look like the plague?" asked Michael. "I'll get her back, sleep with her and dump her. She'll pay to treat me this way, I'll make sure."
