Chapter 5 - Hope of the Elves

Vieruodis's words pulled the two of them back to reality. Although they were happy, the crisis of the elves had yet to be resolved. Morwenna had already quietly retreated. She knew that there was some news that she could not listen to casually.

"Let's start with the bad news, Sister."

There was no one else here, so Galadriel naturally didn't have to be so reserved when addressing Vieruodis.

"In the next few years, the elves will face the calamity of extinction. I don't know where the calamity comes from. I entered the Spirit World in a hurry this time. I didn't have time to sense much detailed information, but it should be related to the Abyss."

Although it was expected, Galadriel could not help but feel her heart tighten. For a few years, the elves did not seem to be able to change anything. If it was really as she said, this calamity came from the Abyss, with the current strength of the elves…

With all kinds of worries attached, Galadriel took a deep breath and continued to ask, "What's the good news?"

"According to the spiritual prophecy, there is only one hope of surviving this calamity. However, I have no way of knowing what this hope refers to. This is very strange. I haven't obtained an accurate spiritual prophecy for either matter," Vieruodis replied after thinking for a while.

The information she obtained after entering the Spirit World this time was indeed different from before. At the very least, the information she obtained in the past was clear, but now, it was as if she was talking in riddles. Vieruodis could not figure it out at all.

However, Galadriel and Undine, who had heard the second spiritual prophecy, were stunned at the same time. They looked at each other. They had obviously thought of the same thing. The silent pair's gazes stopped on the golden egg on the platform.

Vieruodis noticed their reaction and was a little anxious. "Do you not believe me? I'm telling the truth. The elves can be said to be in crisis and opportunity this time. We have to hurry up and find out what the elves' hopes are!"

"No, no, no." Galadriel snapped out of her silence. "I know you wouldn't joke about such a thing. It's just that after hearing what you said, this thought suddenly came to me."

Following Galadriel's finger, Vieruodis looked at the glowing golden egg in confusion. Undine immediately went forward and explained, "You should know that there were only three Moonlight Grass left a long time ago. Today, Morwenna realized that the remaining Moonlight Grass had all withered…"

After listening to Undine, Vieruodis's pale face was filled with surprise. She could not figure out why an egg had the ability to surpass the four demigods of the elves!

Previously, in order to nurture the extinct plants, Queen Galadriel joined forces with the three elders to use revival magic. However, the effect was not satisfactory. The revived plants only survived for a few minutes before withering again. Although the Abyss had long been repelled, the terrifying darkness had left irreparable damage to the Golden Forest.

But now, just an egg had easily done this. If someone hadn't explained it to her, Vieruodis would probably have thought that this was a god who had been born on the continent!

"Is this egg the hope of the elves?"

Vieruodis murmured.

"We're not completely sure about this yet." Galadriel stepped forward and gently stroked the soft, delicate eggshell. She could feel the magic dancing in it. "The Elven Goddess hasn't given any response, and there's no evidence at the moment that this egg is the hope that the spiritual prophecy indicated. We have to be really sure before we plan anything."

Beside him, Vieruodis and Undine nodded at the same time. The future of the elves was at stake. The secret of the egg had to be cleared up first, but Undine seemed to have thought of something. She stepped forward and spoke.

"Your Majesty, I suggest not revealing this to the public for the time being. Although the elves are all loyal warriors at the moment, we have to guard against something similar to Lehr. At the very least, we have to keep it absolutely confidential until we figure out the secret of this egg!"

Galadriel heard this and thought for a moment before saying, "You're right. If this egg does concern our future, if the news leaks, what happens next will be very troublesome. I'll leave this to you. Other than the three of us, the only one who knows about this is Morwenna, who just left. Go and seal her memories for the time being."

"I set up a Level 8 sealing spell when she left. Anyone who comes into contact with her will be magically marked. I'll activate it now."

An array formed by countless complicated incantations appeared in front of Undine. As she chanted, Morwenna, who had arrived at her friend's residence and was about to say what she had seen and heard, was stunned at the door.

As the Enforcement Elder, Undine would prepare in advance for any possible crisis. It could be said that her credit for keeping the elves stable and safe from foreign invasions could not be ignored.

Of course, Elf Envoy Lehr was the only stain in her life.

"You're still so reassuring."

Galadriel turned her gaze to the golden egg. "Next is how to deal with this egg. I don't think we can get guidance through the Elven Goddess for the time being since the goddess hasn't responded this time. Therefore, before Vieruodis recovers and enters the Spirit World again, this egg will be taken in turns by me and the three elders. I'll explain the situation to Slyph myself."

The two of them nodded at the same time, and then Undine walked over. "Your Majesty, you've just communicated with the goddess. The Great Elder suffered a lot because he entered the Spirit World. Slyph should have a lot of things to do. Why don't you leave this egg to me?"

"That's not a problem, but don't use it for any experiments. If anything goes wrong…"

Galadriel reminded Undine as she knew this was a crazed alchemist. She had basically thrown everything in the Golden Forest into her crucible.

"Queen, don't worry. Although I like to study it, I know how important this egg is to the elves. Until I determine the origin and use of this egg, I will never do anything."

Undine promised. She was not one of those young impudent elves. At this moment, Galadriel picked up the egg with relief and handed it to Undine. "Be careful. The egg is not light."

Despite Galadriel's reminder, Undine still frowned at the weight of the egg when she took it. There was nothing heavier than this egg among alchemy materials of the same size.

Then, Undine bowed to Galadriel and left with the egg.

Galadriel also helped Vieruodis leave the Goddess Hall.
