Mr. Bennett Foster's father was an acquaintance of Miss Leila, and a regular customer here.
Neither were friends, but they would chat when they saw each other.
As for Bennett himself, Miss Leila saw him as Anna's friend.
From Miss Leila's narration, Adam had begun to get a general idea.
Most likely, he was Anna's suitor......
Considering Anna's looks and temperament, it was perfectly normal for her to have suitors.
Adam understood this.
But he still disliked Bennett.
