[Someone wants Clarissa dead]
[I will be there tomorrow, sis]
She pockets her phone and starts packing up. Her life will be in danger, staying where Luke can get access to her whereabouts. She suspected he had something to do with this. Now, she will need to be careful and aware of her surroundings.
Taking Cocoa butter for a walk, she put on her hoodie sweater so as not to rub against the makeshift bandage she patched on her abdomen.
She felt hopeless; she was not some spy who had unlimited access to hackers that could easily hack into a database or a super spy that could find information just like that. She is a bandit; she steals for a living; it took them six months to craft any plan to rob those rich b*starts. She knows she is wrong to do it, Lucinda knows it as well, and everyone on her team knew it was wrong but did it? When people are starving, the riches are least affected by it. They applied nepotism within the hierarchy. Please look at the top tier family, they keep their wealth for generations, and they keep growing richer, crushing small business owners by controlling the prices of items.
Her heart has grown too much hatred for the rich. She despises them and will now be employed by one of the wealthiest heirs in the country or even the continent. No one knew precisely the Knights' net worth. She wanted to go legit; Baldie and the rest do not deserve to live as a criminal and risk being caught. That is why she took the job even though her heart won't content.
"Are you done, Cocoa butter?" She saw Cocoa start getting tired from his walk around the neighborhood, so she walked him back, and she needed to start packing for her move out.
However, she dreaded informing Conrad and hated the fact she needed to see Felicia. Her mood is not in the right places now, so if they pissed her off she can't promise to play nice.
Securing her pup back to her room, she entered the main area where everyone was seated. They had just finished their dinner and did not even mind asking if she had eaten at all.
This is what she means by disgusting behavior. Back in the orphanage growing up, no one ate until everyone arrived. They share bread and food even when there is a conflict. Meal time is sacred since food is hard to come by. Therefore everyone has respect for the meal that was cooked.
Felicia saw Remi, that was slowly coming towards them; her heart hurt, and she was annoyed seeing how she looked exactly like her mother. The woman is fickled, and it shows. She turned her face from looking at Remi, that is not seated in one of the chairs.
"I'm moving out in a few days," Remi uttered.
"Conrad knew the day had arrived; he felt a little troubled seeing the daughter he ignored had grown and was about to leave the house. His feelings are conflicted, but he knows it's for the best.
"Good! I can't hide it anymore; I have grown tired of seeing you freeloading in this house with that useless brain of yours, lounging like you owned the house!" no more facade, Feliciais furious when she found out about the condo Conrad casually gifted to Remi.
"And so do I; I have grown tired of seeing you and everyone else in this house treating me like a doormat!" Remi stood and retorted while still trying to keep her calm. Her feelings are like those waves in the ocean, building up before it crashes on the shore.
"You b*tch!! You are just like your shameless mother!" angry Felicia pointed towards Remi, that is still standing, while Conrad remained silent as usual.
"Consider me not slapping your face right now as payment for living in this house for all this time. I do not have any recollections of how things were before, but I knew it couldn't be less than what I already endured in just a few weeks living here."
She then left the living room and heard crashing sounds from the vases and crystal decors. The broken pieces were shattered everywhere; Arianna and Luke ran to go down from their room and saw the incident. He scrutinized Remi, who was fearless in uttering the threats to his mom. Arianna, on the other hand, was ready to fight her but was held back by Luke, that was in front of her.
Conrad remains silent and lets it all happen in front of his eyes. He knew he would have to pay for his sins, and he had been using Clarissa all this time.
"ENOUGH!!" his roar startled everyone, including his children, that has never seen him raising his voice to their mother.
"Enough, Felicia!!" He shook his head, throwing the newspaper he held, and grabbed the keys to leave the house and go somewhere, anywhere but home.
