Chapter 4 - Hero's Awakening

003 opened his eyes to a brightly lit, suffocating room. He was glad he wasn't dead and reveled in the weird dream that just took place in his head. He could still feel the crashing of the waves as they took over his entire body. His moved his hand slowly around the bed before trying with great difficult to lift his hand up. It was indeed a hand though it felt as if it weighed 100 pounds, exhaustion coursed through his body. This hand in front of him was free of scars and calluses. He tried to use his elbows to prop himself up when a large noise went off and a young woman in a pink outfit rushed in. He was immediately shoved back down into the pillowy bed as she fussed over his a bandage on his face. The nurse soon yelled something into a crystal before tossing it to the side and straightening his hair up.

"He woke up?!?" A man in a white coat said in a shocked voice. The man quickly recovered from his words and began checking 003's vitals "Do you remember your name? The date? Location?"

003 only stared at the man, not responding. The man looked confused as he created a green orb in his hand and trailed it on his body.

"All your vitals are good though you will still need your rest. Your brain activity is normal as well. You shouldn't be experiencing amnesia. Can you talk?" The doctor probed him some more with his fingers. 003 simply did not respond again. The doctor sighed "Let me call your father" his figure soon flashed out of the room as if he wasn't there, to begin with.

'Father? Magic? What is this shit?' 003 thought 'I thought it was just a dream but I think that Hero guy… oh god'

[System initializing memories]

By now he knew that the dream wasn't a dream, but rather an introduction. In a world of magic and somewhat advanced technology, this 'Hero' guy was a complete failure in second life. They were the same age yet he couldn't even harm a squirrel, let alone swing a sword or throw a dagger. He was bullied in the magic academy and even worse, he was treated like scum of the earth in his own home. His brothers loved him but the branch families that typically couldn't lay a hand on him, often had a field day with beating him into oblivion. It infuriated him. 003 wanted to kill everyone in that family and yet he didn't have the power to do so as his new body was still recuperating from the damage done to him. His body shook with anger the more he thought about his own death and the death done to this poor bastard. 'Curse you 015. I hope I see you in this life' he shook his mental fist at the stupid boy who caused his death. A door opened and 003 moved his head to the man with dark circles under his eyes. 'So this is my supposed father' he thought. He was easily 6'7 with black hair and full sclera black eyes with tiny specks of red in them. He was handsome despite his freakish looks, and his aura exuded power. Two boys who looked exactly like their father and mother followed behind. The first and third son of Duke Daenerys, Atlas & Quinn. From his memories, he knew he had many other siblings, though none would come to visit him. Hero, Atlas, and Quinn all shared the same mother and father. Atlas looked like he was bored and punched the young Quinn in the shoulder as if to say 'I told you so'

"So my son has awoken" the Duke stated "I heard you aren't speaking"

003 continued to analyze his father before analyzing the young boys. "I can speak, I am choosing not to." 003 was shocked by the voice that came out. It was smooth and regal. As if everyone should have to obey him. Hell, if he was put into another siblings body he was sure that he would follow this voice.

"I see." The Duke nodded his head before turning to the doctor "Get him moved back to his dwelling, he is to remain in isolation for 2 months for falling for an assassin's trap." The Duke then looked at his son with a hard gaze "In my opinion, you shouldn't have been saved and if it weren't for your mother, you wouldn't be here in the first place." The Duke then left the room, his heavy shoes thumping behind him. Atlas and Quinn looked at 003 before grins cracked on their face.

"Damn dude, you pissed him off with this stunt," Quinn said as he walked over to the bedside chair. He kicked his feet onto the bed and 003 gave him a death glare that made him promptly remove them.

Atlas gazed at him for a bit before looking around "You did piss him off, he was worried. You know mother is a scary woman and he caught the wrath of her multiple times with your act."

"Where is mother?" He narrowed his eyes at the two boys before they looked away uncomfortably.

"She is away on a mission right now. She will come and visit you once you are out of isolation." Quinn shrugged his shoulders before standing up.

"Let us know if you want to train" Atlas said with a grin

"I will once I'm out of isolation" 003 responded before pointing his fingers at the door. "I'd like some rest before I have to leave. Please return."

The boys nodded at him before moving to the door, looking back at him with quizzical looks and exiting the room. 003 sighed inwardly before tossing his legs over the edge of the bed. Looking out the window, it appeared he was in a city of some sort though it was far smaller than any city he had ever been in. He was excited for the possibilities and the opportunities that could be out there. He clenched his fist tightly as he attempted to stand on his new legs for the first time.
