"Unfortunately we didn't notice that this had happened until it was already done because Adam went to wake James up for his shift and I went to sleep." Zach explained as he played the newly opened video file.
The video showed the stationed camera in the basement lifting and moving a few feet before being placed back on the ground.
"I noticed this when James was preparing for his shift while I watched over him from the nerve center." Adam explained to the couple.
"Since the camera moved in the basement, I decided I should start there." James chimed in.
"When I went there I brought a spirit box with me that allows spirits to talk through it more easily."
"I got some of the clearest responses I've ever heard in my life down there." James said as he took the laptop over and opened an audio file.
"We've put my question and answer session that I had with the spirit box into one file, I'm going to let it play all the way through so hold any questions for after it stops." James said as he played the file.
"Who moved this camera?"
They heard James ask this and immediately they heard the response from another voice,
"I did."
The couple shared a look,
'This is definitely Jack's voice.' They both thought.
Before they could think too much the file continued to play and they heard the next question.
"Who are you?"
They heard James ask before Jack immediately replied sarcastically.
"You know."
"What is your name?"
"Even though I know it, I want you to say it." James in the file said and the couple waited to hear if Jack would answer.
"I'm Jack." They weren't disappointed and heard Jack reply.
"Nice to meet you, Jack."
"Can you tell me something else about you?" The couple was curious now, maybe they could learn something new about Jack and what happened to him or why he haunted this house.
Unfortunately, they were going to be disappointed this time.
"I'm dead."
They heard Jack reply jokingly like this and knew they won't get any serious answers from this mischievous guy.
After this answer, the audio file ended and James spoke up,
"There is a part two to this but since something visual happens the second part will be a video."
James said as he brought up the video and let it autoplay.
The video was from the stationed camera again and they listened closely as they heard James speak from close by.
"Obviously, but can you tell me something I don't know?"
"Like, how is life after death?" James's voice came from out of the camera view.
"It's lonely." They heard Jack reply and were surprised that he actually seriously answered for once.
He seriously answered such a depressing question in such a depressing way too.
They all couldn't imagine how lonely it must be to be dead and away from their loved ones, even David felt after this answer Jack was pitiful despite how much he was scared by him.
The video was full of silence just like the people watching it as James still doesn't know what he should have said after such an answer.
"Can you move this camera back for me?"
They snapped out of their thoughts when James in the video asked this.
After he did they all watched as the camera was moved back to where it was and they saw a good flabbergasted look on James's face since he was now in view.
Sarah giggled when she saw his face but immediately held her hand up to her mouth to stop herself.
James in the present didn't mind and just waited for the end of the video.
"Thank... you..."
They heard James say and Jack laughingly reply,
"Haha, You're welcome."
The couple was a bit relieved that Jack was able to laugh even though he was dead and lonely.
"Okay, there is a part three audio file but are there any questions you have so far?" James asked the couple.
"Is it normal to get so many voice responses and interactions?" Sarah raised her hand like she was in school and then asked when she saw he acknowledged her.
"No, this is one of the clearest and most... I guess you can say Alive interaction I have ever had with a spirit." James thought about it before answering.
"It's almost like there is another living person there with me as I've heard everyone else say, that's not normal."
" We don't know why that is either, maybe Jack is stronger than others or more special, who knows." James finished and Jack was thoughtful.
'I'm obviously special...'
'Maybe even stronger at the same time thanks to the system but maybe it's also because other dead deigns to interact with the living or can't do it for some reason.' Jack came up with many conspiracies in his head as James moved on after seeing no other questions.
"Alright moving on to part 3 of my basement evidence." Said James as he pulled up another audio file and it played directly.
"Do you want to hurt the family that lives here?" The couple got nervous about the answer to this question despite them already knowing that Jack never harmed any of them.
"I don't." They heard Jack reply and the couple lost their nervousness snd felt relieved.
"Goodbye." Jack spoke suddenly even without a question being asked.
"Uh. Wait where are you going?" James in the audio file wasn't the only one confused, the couple was caught off guard by that sudden departure too.
"..."
"Goodbye then, I guess." After some silence, they heard James say.
