Jack watched the two crew members leave, and then looked at his status.
His energy has doubled and it is completely full, so he could do so much right now.
He debated on whether to wait for the next shift or start doing things in front of the cameras now.
After thinking about it for a while Jack decided to just spend 12 now and wait until someone else comes because he doubts Adam is going to come back after that.
So he walked to the basement door and went down the stairs to the stationed camera.
He focused his will on his hands and lifted the camera up and moved it a few feet before he placed it down.
'Shit, lifting something heavier really does increase energy expenditure exponentially.' Jack thought when he looked at his energy and spent a bit for than he wanted.
.....
Back to when Adam and Zach decided to leave the house.
as soon as the duo entered the nerve center Adam let out a sigh of relief, feeling completely safe here.
"I don't know how much more I can take in there." Adam said to Zach.
"I warned you that now that you have shown fear like that, the ghost will capitalize on it." Zach glared at him and reprimanded him.
"Sorry." Adam said as he looked embarrassed about fainting in fear.
"Haaaa. It's alright we can just start James' shift early." Zach sighed.
"Go get him up, it's your job to watch over him." Ordered Zach.
"I'm going to sleep now." Zach yawned and rubbed his face before going to his car to lie down in the back.
"Yes sir." Adam mock saluted before he went to wake James up.
....
Not long later Adam and James came back to the nerve center and James was about to gear up when Adam looked at the screen that had the stationed camera displays on it.
"DUDE! check this out!" Adam exclaimed while he pointed at the stationed camera in the basement.
"It moved?" James asked when he saw it wasn't where he knew it should be.
"Yeah, it wasn't there when I left to pick you up." Adam confirmed.
"Okay, I guess I'm starting down there then." James said as he picked up an infrared camera, and Spirit box.
"Alright, I'm going in for my turn."
James said.
"Good luck and have fun." Adam recalling his time there said to James.
....
"I'm going to be using a spirit box to help communicate."
"It sweeps AM and FM radio frequencies and helps spirits speak up to us." James pointed the camera to his face and explained it to the audience.
Having that said he pointed the camera forward to help him see and then entered the house and headed straight for the basement.
.....
Jack was waiting for a reaction to what he did with the stationed camera in the basement.
After some time he finally heard someone enter the house and then proceeded to come down.
Jack saw James as soon as he opened the basement door and wondered what he brought with him.
James made his way down the stairs to where the stationed camera moved to and pulled out the spirit box.
"Who moved this camera?" James asked before turning it on and waiting for a response.
"I did." Jack replied using the spirit box.
James hearing the response almost right after he turned it on got excited hearing such a crisp and clear voice speak back to him.
"Who are you?" James asked.
"You know." Jack said sarcastically as they obviously knew his name and he was the only one here.
James getting another response right away got more and more excited as he felt like he was talking to another living person that was in the room with him.
The voice was coming through so clearly with a full vocal tone, that he could even hear the sarcasm in it.
"What is your name?"
"Even though I know it, I want you to say it." James said and then clarified when he thought he would receive another sarcastic answer.
"I'm Jack." Jack rolled his eyes and complied.
"Nice to meet you, Jack."
"Can you tell me something else about you?" James greeted him formally and then asked another question hoping to get more information for the family.
"I'm dead." Jack jokingly replied.
When James heard Jack's response, he felt like he had walked right into that one but really wanted to get more info so he tried again.
"Obviously, but can you tell me something I don't know?"
"Like, how is life after death?"
Jack looked around him and said,
"It's lonely."
Not expecting that response he didn't really know how to reply so he moved past that and asked another question.
"Can you move this camera back for me?" James didn't expect Jack to actually do it, so he was wide-mouthed and surprised when the camera floated up and moved back to where it was originally.
"Thank... you..." Still shocked by what was happening in front of his eyes he stutteringly spoke.
"Haha, You're welcome." Jack laughed at his dumbfounded face and replied to him.
Hearing the laugh James gathered himself and felt embarrassed being laughed at by a ghost.
James thought hard about what questions he should ask so he could get the ghost to respond to him like this.
"Do you want to hurt the family that lives here?" After much thought, he decided to see if he could get the family some peace of mind.
"I don't." Jack responded and then checked his energy levels.
"Goodbye." he saw his energy getting kind of low so he decided to stop and say goodbye.
"Uh. Wait where are you going?" James was confused about why he suddenly said bye and wanted to know where he was going.
"..."
"Goodbye then, I guess." after he got no response for a while, he wished him goodbye nonetheless.
After saying his goodbyes James decided to go around the house and see if he could find him.
