Forth came out of his study when he heard a knock on the door. He was finishing checking some of the incoming proposals, while waiting for Kwan to come back with his order.
Forth opened the bedroom door and saw Kwan standing at the door smiling broadly. It's too wide, according to Forth and that's suspicious.
Kwan is the main security head of the Vachiravit family, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father who have served and been part of the Vachiravit family since the time of his great-grandfather.
Kwan was adopted by Forth's family when his mother died, two months after he was born, so at that time Forth's mother was the one who took care of and raised Kwan with her children--Forth's brothers.
Forth was born after Kwan was two years old, so their relationship is very close.
Kwan is not someone who likes to smile widely. He is a calm and resolute person. That's why, seeing Kwan smiling widely, Forth even felt that something was strange.
"Why are you smiling so big?" asked Forth with a raised eyebrow. "Have you got the data?"
Kwan put his index finger to his lips. "Shh, don't even think about it. I found something more interesting and you're sure to like what I brought."
"Hm? What are you talking about?"
"Look down and you'll know what I mean."
Forth's bedroom and study are on the second floor, with a connecting door between them and a mezzanine concept of the house, people on the second floor can see directly to the half of ground floor.
Forth looked down through the glass barrier and his eyes widened. He recognized a figure crouching in front of an ornamental fish pond in the open garden in front of the dining room.
Forth turned and looked at Kwan. "That ... Javin?"
"Hmm," answered Kwan. "I was on my way to the building, when I saw him confused on the side of the road. His car broke down and as I looked, his car was old and had a lot of engine parts to replace."
"Then where is the car now?"
"I asked Ming to take it to the garage for repairs, by truck crane."
Forth was suddenly confused. He looked at himself and sniffed at his clothes. "Kwan, do my clothes stink?"
"Huh? No. Why is that?" Kwan asked confused. "You should go down and meet Javin. He was a bit embarrassed when I brought him here, for fear of being considered a hassle."
"Wait, wait, I have to change my clothes. I've been wearing this shirt since morning so the smell might be--"
"Forth!" Kwan interrupted firmly. "Come down now and meet him. You are well dressed and you still smell as good after your shower. Come on!"
Kwan knew there was something about Javin that made Forth feel different. Since childhood, he knew that Forth was not a child who easily liked something, both objects and other people.
Forth is an active child, very intelligent, and tends to be stubborn. He is very territorial and possessive of his or whatever he likes. He is picky and doesn't catch his attention easily.
Seeing how Forth spends his nights at a mini market lately, Kwan and some of Forth's closest people investigate and realize that it's the charm of a mini market cashier named Javin that makes Forth a little different.
Kwan walked behind the Forth, down the stairs to the first floor. "I'll check Javin's car at Ming's garage. Take him home when it gets dark," said Kwan after arriving on the first floor.
Forth walked silently toward Javin. "Nong," Forth called after being behind Javin.
The young man was startled and turned quickly, making his legs tangle together and he lost his balance.
Forth moved quickly, catching the body of the man who was smaller than him before falling to the ground. Javin landed safely in Forth's arms.
For a moment, time seemed to freeze. Javin's soft body pressed against Forth's hard chest and his sweet vanilla scent made Forth feel intoxicated.
"Oh, oh, sorry, Phi Forth, I was so shocked I lost my balance," Javin said nervously, after a while and he realized how they were.
Forth regretted that time had suddenly started moving again. Javin kept his body away from Forth with his face as red as a tomato. His plump red lips trembled and his eyes looked worried.
"No, Javin. I'm sorry for walking around quietly and startling you," Forth said softly.
He motioned for Javin to follow him into the dining room and opened a chair for him. "Sit down and relax."
"Th-thank you, Phi," Javin said hoarsely as he sat in the chair Forth opened for him.
Forth walked into the kitchen which is attached to the dining room. "You just got home from college?"
"Y-yes, Phi. My car broke down and Phi Kwan happened to pass by and saw me. He helped me call a tow truck and took the car to the garage."
Forth poured orange juice from the fridge into a glass and brought it to the dining table.
"Drink first. You must be tired. Have you eaten?"
Javin became a bit relaxed seeing Forth's casual attitude. He drank orange juice and felt relieved after his thirst was quenched by the refreshing drink. "I had lunch on campus earlier."
"It's late, Nong. Do you like fettuccine?"
"I like it, but I better go home now," said Javin doubtfully.
"I'll drop you off later. Now, I'll make some fettuccine for you," Forth said softly.
He started pulling out the ingredients for the fettuccini and salmon steak. Javin hesitated, but worked up the courage to come closer and sat down in front of the kitchen counter, where Forth was concocting ingredients.
"I'm sorry, Phi," Javin said softly.
Forth stopped chopping meat and looked up at Javin. He busied himself not because he didn't welcome Javin, but he was trying to restrain himself from pulling Javin into his arms like before.
"Why apologize?" asked Forth surprised.
"Actually I've turned down Phi Kwan's offer to take care of my car because I don't have enough money to fix it. I've also refused to come here because I'm afraid it will cause more trouble for you."
Forth's eyebrows rose, hearing the pressure in Javin's voice. He smiled, put down the knife, washed and dried his hands, then came out from behind the counter and stood in front of a nervous looking Javin.
Forth reached out and cupped Javin's face. "Stop talking nonsense. I'm glad you came, no matter what. I was thinking about giving Kwan the watch he likes, since she brought you here."
Forth's face was so close, that Javin could feel his signature scent that Javin liked, against his skin with a pleasant warmth.
Forth looked at Javin's pink face and his beautiful eyes sparkling brightly, so clear he could see his own reflection there.
Forth touched the tip of Javin's nose for a moment, before releasing Javin's face from his hand. "Now sit quietly, Nong. I will feed you first before taking you home."
Javin was speechless and held his nose like a fool. Was it true that Forth had just touch his nose with his ... lips?
