"The fucking train is cancelled. Again."
I notice how the rain falls onto a leaf on a tree, and the tree suddenly disintegrates.
..What? Did that leaf really just? Am I hallucinating?
the mutant leaps at me, and manages to scratch my leg, leaving a small gash in my upper thigh on my right leg.
*GAH* I cry out in pain.
I quickly rolled over onto my back and pierced its mouth just as it came to my face, the sharp end of the metallic rod going right through the head of the creature.
'Wait... Why am I not scared at all? And why am I being so casual about having a huge gash in my leg?'
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Here we are now, on a Monday afternoon, drastically different from how my Mondays normally go, it's like the Planet has had a Malfunction or something, it really is something.
I guess it's kind of weird that we are now at the start of an apocalypse yet I'm worried about how Mondays are now suddenly different, how funny.'
"Ikasu, what is happening?" Akari speaks up.
"Honestly, no idea, although I don't think anyone does yet, so that isn't such a valid question at this point in time."
"Ah. Yeah, I suppose that makes sense."
"Anyways, how close are we- AH" I grunt in pain as I momentarily forget about my wound upon my right leg.
"We are about 2 minutes away from Shinjuku station now, if it wasn't for the car, we would be both too far away and under danger from the rain." "Are you sure you're okay Ikasu?" She questions me with a dubious expression covering her face.
"Yeah, I'm okay, you just focus on the road, it's looking pretty rough out there."
Speaking of it looking rough, there are human corpses littered all over Tokyo, some decayed by the acid rain, or some strewn out across the roads after being eaten alive by mutant beasts. But those were the lucky ones, every few corner streets we passed, we could see a few dozen people spread out, moving very clumsily, and I have seen enough zombie movies to know what these guys have become.
Just like those damn Beasts.
Poor guys.

Shinjuku Station usually looks quite clean and modern, but because of the ongoings of the day, most of the ground building is ruined, with all the glass melted and only the walls itself of the building intact, all metal and glass melted, with the exception of a few sharp metal bars, not unlike the one I had used to kill that 'Stalker'. I decide to pick one up just in case, and hand a smaller one over to Akari aswell.
When me and Akari enter the underground area of the station, we are met with close to a hundred people crowded inside. There has to be at least two dozen injured, with a lot of corpses occupying the train lines.
As I look around, a guy, maybe around 6 feet, with Jet black hair and shining red eyes walks over to us.
"Hey there, names Kei Kaito, nice to meet you."
'Well, this guy seems nice'
"Ikasu Nyusen, and nice to meet you too, oh and this is Akari Hana." I point my hand out towards Akari.
"Nice to meet you too!"
'She still has way too much enthusiasm even though an apocalypse has started.'

All the TV's and monitors in the train station light up, and go onto a broadcast, on the screen is a darkly lit room, with only one big chair and an ominous being sitting on it.
*Hello humans, as you have borne witness, your planet has become a site for my brilliant master design.*
Many people are confused by what the being is saying, and some shout in protest.
"What do you mean?" "What is the meaning of this?"
All shouts that fall onto deaf ears, seriously don't they get that this is a broadcast and that they cannot hear us? Even now people don't use rationality.
*I have altered your planets ecosystem, as I laid radioactive materials in abundance along your atmosphere, leading to your weather to become supernatural, and this has caused your creatures living amongst you to change.*
"You mean you made our animals become these things?"
'Seriously guys. They can't hear you.'
*Along with this, it has altered many things in your world, one thing being, the materials. Weapons and items are now much more powerful than your everyday. They are supercharged, almost. Like some sort of game.*
"So, our lives are a game to you?"
"Right, you idiots it can't hear you whatever it is so why don't you all just be quiet." I finally speak up as I have gotten sick of listening to them talk.
The monitors begin to pick up sound again.
*This planet will be subject to my torture, almost all of you will certainly die. But it is all for our own entertainment, after all, the rest of the galaxy needs their fun.*
'Wait, did he just say. The rest of the GALAXY?'

As quickly as it started, the broadcast on the screens ends abruptly.
On cue with the ending of the broadcast, screams are heard at the other end of the station.
"Someone has gone crazy! He is biting into people!"
As this is shouted, many people get off the ground and start sprinting towards the doors of the station, but they are all locked.
"The doors are all locked!" "How? We are all trapped in here!"
~Bzzzt~
The monitors come alive one more time, as the being states: *I have locked all doors, as of now, you have no esacpe, you must fight this oncoming horde, live through the night, or escape through other means.*
~Bzzzt~
As the monitors shut down, the metal rods me and Akari picked up earlier start to glow, a golden light covers my metal pipe, and it turns into a golden samurai sword, with an engraving saying 'Dominus vobiscum et cum spiritu tuo' my mind automatically deciphers the words as if it is natural to me. 'The lord be with you and your soul'.
What the hell is that supposed to mean?

Tokyo, 2030
On the 28th of October 2030, all over the world, the apocalypse began.
By the end of the first month, 75% of the population was wiped out.
Animals became mutated, and anyone they ate fell under that same fate.
Humanity became the prey.
