Chereads / The Fatal Alpha / Chapter 22 - 22

Chapter 22 - 22

We arrived to a very expensive looking cuisine which also had a band performing the classical "sway with me" as more people continued to dance on the terrace beside the Fontà cuisine. The weather was also perfect, it seemed to perfect to be true. I couldn't wait to indulge in my handsome in a tux mate when we come back to the mansion.

Aren't you a very horny hog? So sweet. Lace joked and I let out a chuckle at her sarcasm. She was the best at fighting too and telling me what to do most of the time.

My mate held my hand as the guys stared at me like I was chocolate cake. Alpha was very attractive as his muscles tightened against his silver and black tuxedo with his hair in a sandstorm quiff and his hurricane eyes shone from the light of the entrance.

"Easy there, Desti baby." He calmed me down when I growled at the girls who were checking him out, as possessive as I was being today, I mainly blamed it on my mixed hormones today.

We stepped in to have brunch at the fancy cuisine where all rich men negotiated and bitchy women set their eyes on men like their fathers' age for money. I cared about being with the Alpha so when I turned to his face, he was too busy staring at me with a glint in his eyes. I could never grow tired of that.

"See something you like?" I smirked as he threw his head back and laughed like a hyena.

The waiter led us to our table and we were too busy in our conversation to even realize we hadn't ordered yet.

"But why do I need a Beta? We are having a baby so what if he was dangerous to us?" The Alpha was being strictly paranoid from early experience but I had to convince him for protection, who knew that pack members were hypnotized by pills that could make them murder anyone.

"You need to let go of the past," I told him softly and his gaze darkened at me.

"I am not holding on to the past, it's enough, I don't want a Beta and that's it, I can handle it." He growled and the people glanced our way, I never felt so humiliated so I frowned as I looked down on my lap.

"Okay," I said. He sighed and held my hand, I gazed up into his hurricane eyes and all I could see was sadness.

"I didn't mean to baby, I'm sorry." He apologized and I nodded, deciding to play forgiving Mary.

"It's alright." We ordered their special dish, fish purèe with a side of salad and curled fries. The people around us were too posh and their noses were up in their asses.

"I love you." My breath hitched at the three words he uttered out of his mouth, my insides mushed as I glanced at his smile. It was way too real. All of that would end when I die and he would be sad all over again.

"I love you too." My voice wobbly spoke out as he squeezed my hand and my heart shattered the hardest. I couldn't leave this man, I was selfish and not strong-minded when it came down to this. I had to hold onto the memories that made me happy.

Just live the best life with him. Lace emotionally advised the rhythm of my heartbeat and the baby's heartbeat were spreading warm tingles around my body. All I knew was this man in front of me was everything.

"What's your wolf's name?" I asked casually but from how his face drained, that was a touchy subject.

"It's cursed, he doesn't have a name but your wolf can feel him but he can't show, he's inside of me but Lace, your wolf can only feel his scent." He explained as I frowned in confusion.

He means that I can feel his wolf but I can't talk to him because he's cursed, that's why I mostly call him our mate, he doesn't have a name. Lace informed me as I exhaled a sigh.

"So that means your wolf is also cursed." He nodded at that and I let it go because I wanted to have a great time before the serious issue began.

"I'm scared for our baby." He confessed as he leaned back in his chair, making the black cuffs rise up to his middle arm. I was too, I had been relentlessly thinking about that, was I able to give birth to a baby with a curse? I couldn't handle it if our baby had to go through what I went through now but I also knew that the Alpha would take great care and love our baby endlessly but she would die with the curse too and he would only grieve more.

"Me too," I said warily as I picked on the appealing dish, we both ate in solemn silence. I had to mention the curse to him but my stupid kind heart didn't budge, I had to try to live without killing people. I was going to be a peaceful Luna and stay strong for my new family, I wasn't able to protect my family but now, I was determined not to lose the new little family that involved me, my mate and our little baby that was happily kicking inside of me.

"I like Kaden for a boy," Alpha smiled at me and we were back on a lighter topic, the music made the people dance with their partners, I used to be a very good tango dance but it was a long time since I danced.

"I like Evanna for a girl." I intensely looked into his eyes in pure grief at the loss of my sister, he seemed to realize so.

"Let's dance." He offered his calloused hand to me as I gladly took it with my red dress flailing behind me.
