Chapter 32 - Chapter 31: You apologize too much.

(Ravine POV)

"Ravine, I'm going to get you." JJ said as I hurried paddling my boat away from him.

I thought I was able to outrun him but he's a beast in everything he does. I guess I really am no match for a werewolf.

"You're not going to catch me!" I said playfully.

"Oh yeah, says who?" He said as his boat bumped against mine. As sore as my arms are, I still did my best to paddle away from him, showing him that I have fight in me but he still managed to catch up.

"Aww, come on, don't sulk, babe! You know for a fact that you can't beat a werewolf!" He teased.

In retaliation, I used my telekinesis to flip his boat upside down, making him fall to the water.

"Haha!" I laughed.

"Oh so that's how it is now, huh?" JJ said as he swam towards my boat and managed to capsize it in one arm. I fell over and splashed against the water right beside him.

"We're even now!"

Being the stubborn one that I am, I began splashing waves of water against JJ's face.

"Ravine, stop that!" JJ said when all he could do was to try to block the water.

It took a while but he managed to hold my wrists, leaving me completely defenseless.

"Give up?" He said as I tried to break free of his hold.

"Never!" I laughed.

JJ and I messed with each other until our laughter faded and all that's left is this awkward silence between us. Without any warning, I kissed him on his lips and he responded quickly. Our goofy moment turned into a steamy make out session.

I wrapped my legs around his waist while he managed to stay afloat with me in his arms. We carried on kissing one another until we are out of breaths.

"That was…" I said.

"Sexy!" JJ continued my sentence.

Suddenly, rain started pouring over us.

"How romantic!" I commented.

(JJ POV)

Ravine caught a flu after our swimming in the lake and it's an absolute bummer. He couldn't even get out of bed. He is clutching the blanket so tight and he's having the most terrible chills.

I hear his teeth chattering and I feel so bad.

"Hold on for a little while, babe! The corn bisque is just about done." I said to him before rushing to the kitchen.

"Okay!" He said.

I rushed to the kitchen to serve him a plate of warm bisque just like what mom always does when I have a fever. It always works and I will feel a lot better in the morning after. I hope the same could happen to my mate.

As I finished pouring him a bowl, I put it on the bed tray and carried it all the way to the bedroom.

"Hey, here it is, a nice warm delicious bowl of corn bisque!" I said as I laid it on the bed and he sat up to dig in.

Ravine sneezed before taking the spoon and eating a spoonful of bisque and after tasting it, his mood immediately changed and brightened.

"Wow! This is the best soup I have ever had." He said. I kissed him on his cheek in appreciation.

"I guess supernatural creatures like us are not immune to flus!" Ravine said.

"I guess not!"

"I'm sorry if I'm being a burden. We should be enjoying our staycation right now but instead…"

"Ravine, stop saying that. You are never a burden. You're my mate and I will do everything that it takes to take care of you!"

"You're so sweet, JJ! I don't deserve you."

"Of course, you do!"

(3RD person POV)

"The full moon is coming, Marco! What am I supposed to do?" JJ said to his best friend through the phone.

JJ knows that the full moon is the time of mating for wolves and their mates and he knows Ravine is not ready yet. JJ has to figure out a way for him to safely avoid Ravine and keep his distance because he knows his wolf will forcibly mate Ravine if he doesn't contain his lust during the full moon.

"I haven't even told Frida that I am a wolf yet, JJ." Marco replied.

"Maybe we should just lock ourselves in a room for us to have control over our bodies and our wolves." JJ suggested.

"I guess that's a workable idea."

"Marco, I'll talk to you later. I still have to take care of my mate."

"Sure!"

JJ hung up the phone and as soon as he hung up, Ravine spoke right behind him.

"JJ?"

"Ravine, what are you doing here? You should be resting upstairs." JJ said.

"What do you mean by mating?" Ravine curiously asked.

"Ravine, I can explain."

"Can you please answer my question, JJ?" Ravine said.

JJ sighed before finally telling him what it is.

"Mating happens when wolves and their mates make love to each other during the full moon." JJ said.

"Oh!"

"It is the time wherein male werewolves proclaim their everlasting love and mark their other halves as theirs and only theirs."

"I see!"

JJ walked towards Ravine and held his face to reassure him that everything is going to be alright.

"Don't worry, Ravine! I know you're not ready yet and I won't force you into anything. I'm willing to wait for you."

"I'm sorry."

"You apologize too much, Ravine. You have nothing to be sorry for."

As much as Ravine wants to give JJ what he wants, he knows, deep inside that he is not ready yet and it is killing him that he can't satisfy JJ.

As for JJ, he is treating Ravine as if he is a delicate painting. He is very careful of his actions towards Ravine. Every boundaries that Ravine has, he respects and he knows that's the only way for him to gain Ravine's trust and heart.
