BARNSLEY HIGH
I wasn't a nerdy or brainy type and people who didn't know me thought I was because of my shyness. I was actually pretty dumb. It was hard for me to understand simple topics. One of my worst subjects was maths and Mi Hi knew it. I tried my best to understand but I couldn't. I was the type that would read diligently for an exam but in the end, it wouldn't account for a thing when the results are out.
I usually lie to my mum about my grades. Truth be told, I've never gotten an A nor have I gotten an F. As for the rest of the letters, yes, those are kinda my regulars.
Mi Hi and Delores leaned against their lockers as they conversed.
"What did you get in today's math test?" Delores asked.
"An A+, you?" Mi Hi asked with a smile.
"A C-" Delores said with a smile but Mi Hi wasn't having it.
"Dee, come on. The test was an absolute banger. How come you got a C-, we studied together?" Mi Hi asked perplexed.
"It's my brain Mi, it's slow and retarded. I just can't understand simple things" Delores stressed.
"I need to tutor you extensively. I can't have my bestie fail simple maths. Imagine what people would say about me" Mi Hi said.
"Thanks, Mi" Delores said. Then Cameron and his friends walked past Delores and Mi Hi.
At that moment, I was expecting Cameron to notice me but he didn't. I stood out, I was sure I did. I even waved but nothing happened. It was as if he didn't know I was there. I felt really stupid but I liked him so I wasn't going to stop until he noticed me.
"Dee, I don't think Cameron is your type. Just give it a break okay?" Mi Hi advised.
"Okay" Delores said but she lied. She wasn't going to give it a break, she was going to give it all she got.
"Bye, Mi. I've gotta get to my next class" Delores said.
"So your house at 7?" Mi Hi asked.
"Yeah" Delores answered and then she went to her class. Before she went there, she visited the bathroom to pee. There, she overheard Sheryl and another girl discussing.
"Oh my God, tonight's party at Cameron's. Thoughts?" Lindsay asked with excitement.
"What a grand way to publicise our relationship" Sheryl said confidently.
"You two? How come I've never heard of this? Cameron's a PDA guy and you're a PDA girl. How come they've been no PDAs among yourselves?" Lindsay asked.
"We've been kinda on the low. But I bet he's gonna make his girlfriend at that party tonight. We've had sex, multiple times so come on, it's fucking inevitable" Sheryl said with confidence.
"You do know Cameron had sex with other girls in school, right? And he hasn't dated any one of them so don't get your hopes high, Sheryl" Lindsay advised.
"Please, those other girls are not Sheryl Baptista. You'll see" Sheryl said with confidence.
"I hope you're right" Lindsay said.
Delores who overheard their discussion knew she had to attend the party. If what Sheryl was saying was true then she had to act fast so she wouldn't lose Cameron for good. So she came out of the bathroom and approached Sheryl and Lindsay.
"Hey" She said nervously.
"Eww, why are you talking to us?" Sheryl asked in disgust.
"Sheryl" Lindsay said trying to reprimand her for her choice of words.
"It's okay. I just wanted to know the time and the address of the party tonight" Delores said with a smile.
"I don't know where the party for dorks's at, 'cause I know it's certainly not Cameron's party you're going for" Sheryl teased.
"I'm going for Cameron's actually" Delores replied as though Sheryl wasnt saying hurtful things to her.
"Girl, are you sure you wanna attend Cameron's party? I assure you, it is not gonna be memorable for your kind of person" Lindsay said.
"I just-just wanna go" Delores stuttered then Sheryl pulled Lindsay to a corner and whispered to her.
"Her friend has been mean to me multiple times. She even called me broke. This girl isn't getting what she wants. I'm giving her a fake address" Sheryl said in spite.
"Girl, don't do that. After all, what's the best that can happen to her, nothing right?" Lindsay said.
"Just give her the right address. How's her attendance gonna affect you getting what you want with Cameron? Tone down the wickedness a bit girl" She continued.
"Alright, fine. But I'm definitely getting her back somehow, someday for what her friend said to me" Sheryl said.
"No problem" Lindsay said and then the two girls went to meet Delores who had been patiently waiting for them with a smile on her face.
"Do you have paper and a pen?" Sheryl asked.
"Yeah" Delores said and then she brought out a piece of paper and a pen from her bag and gave it to Sheryl. Sheryl then wrote down Cameron's address and handed the paper back to her.
"The party's at 7. Have a nice time" Sheryl said and then she left with Lindsay hand in hand. Delores was excited and couldn't wait for 7 pm. She had completely forgotten about the plans she made with Mi Hi at 7 as well.
AT THE BOY'S LOCKER ROOM
Before the coach's arrival, Cameron and some jocks had a conversation.
"You've got the alcohol set for tonight's party, right Dave?" Cameron asked.
"Fuck yeah" Dave said with excitement.
"Tonight's theme is get drunk and get fucked. We can't get drunk without alcohol" Cameron said.
"Or fucked without girls" Justin said.
"Not all of us need girls to be fucked" Maverick said and then they laughed.
"Yo, what about Sheryl? Are you gonna ask her out?" Dave asked.
"Sheryl's a whore. I don't date whores" Cameron said.
"Well, she's gonna be expecting you to do so at your party. The rate at which you guys fuck, you should be getting married" Justin said.
"Fuck her" Cameron said. "I just had an idea. How bout I ask someone out in place of Sheryl? Someone she wouldn't expect. Someone no one would expect" Cameron said.
"Like the girl that waved at you but you ignored?" Dave asked.
"Delores fucking Atkinson? Dude, I'd rather swallow a bee hive than be with a dumb girl like Delores. I take the same classes as her. Bro, she's not smart. You know I can't tolerate dumb people" Cameron said.
"Okay, I kinda shocked you know her full name and that she's dumb, but I can't think of any girl people would be surprised to see you with" Dave said.
"She's perfect bro" Maverick said.
"Okay, I'll do it. But when I break up with her, it's gonna be the most humiliating day of her life" Cameron said.
