Ferdinand and his subordinates have been resting while also being vigilant as the ground was still shaking and the trees were rocking. Whatever the cause of the ground shaking, it can't be that good. Either it is an earthquake, or a giant is coming their way.
Ferdinand thought about it, that the destiny quest hasn't ended yet, which just means that there could be more something that are coming to get them. This night, he has seen a lot of new types of monsters or walkers. He saw a bottomless flying walker which really freaked him out. There was also that walker that sprints on all fours, which is really terrifying.
He is a soldier, not an exorcist, so these new things that he is seeing really struck fear in his heart and mind. Even though due to fear he has a lot of responsibilities and that is to save the lives of his subordinates and hopefully in the future the world too. He is a soldier too.
Ferdinand was curious about how his newly summoned subordinates were able to know the severity of the situation they were in. On another note, there was also the fact that when he asked his first summoned subordinates, that before they were summoned here, they were told a lot of things. So Ferdinand decided not to ask for it, instead he asked for their names, which as follows. William, Noah, Oliver, Elijah, Lucas, Benjamin, James and Henry.
A few minutes later, they were chatting about their previous lives, and while Ferdinand didn't ask a question, they still told him how they know the severity of the situation and that there was also an influx of information before they were summoned. This answers every question that Ferdinand had, and that also explains why Owl said that soldiers who were going to be summoned are given the information on how to operate different parts of the gun and further technologies.
As they were resting, suddenly, they heard a crack from the trees. What they saw struck another fear into their hearts and minds as cold sweat sweeps through their backs. Ferdinand and his subordinates immediately got into position while protecting the injured Simpson.
The ground rumbles, and the trees were falling. From a view from afar, they could see that there was a path being made towards them, and the trees were all destroyed in the path. They couldn't see what it was, but it must be a problem, they thought. Only things that are big can destroy a path that quick unless there is modern equipment in this world. Nevertheless, it is still a threat as it was heading towards them.
Anticipating the worst, Ferdinand brought out his Mark 1 Anti-Tank Rifle and bought 10 rounds, effectively removing 10,000 points from his reserves of points. He now has a mere 29,700 points in reserves. He then lay down into position and quickly devised a proper positioning for his subordinates and ordered them to move to their respective positions. While he aimed through his sights and waited.
Suddenly, a loud screech was heard from the direction of the walker. Then the ground rumbled even harder. On the far side of the horizon, they saw another group of those bottomless flying walkers and on the ground they could see multiple unidentified walkers approaching from all directions.
Seeing that the positioning that he created became pointless as they were all coming from all directions and so he planned once again their positioning and gave out orders for his subordinates. They were now encircling Simpson.
To conserve ammunition they waited for the perfect timing to fire their small arms, and so when the time came Ferdinand ordered the fire command.
"Weapons free!"
As if a star had formed at a forest, bullets came at a blistering speed as walkers alike fell to their deaths. Even the bottomless flying walkers billowed through the ground. That was the advantage of superior firepower, and in the future, they will fully take this advantage of.
Meanwhile, Ferdinand lay on the ground, waiting for the big guy that dragged these walkers to him and his subordinates. Judging from it, it only means that this could be a horde walker. Lights flickered through the surroundings as the firing never stops, it also seemed like that riflemen possess much more accuracy in shooting, which means they were perfect for situations like this.
Then the time came as they can now see the giant that was causing all these problems. It was an obese and gigantic walker with a very deformed facial features. The giant also has lots of some kind of things stuck on its body.
Ferdinand then prepared to fire by aiming down his sights, to which then a thunderous sound came from the rifle as a big flash of light came from it's muzzles, followed by a lot of smoke. The shot whizzes through the air as the shot hits its target.
Suddenly, a bright crimson flower formed on its body, followed by a splash of blood on its surroundings. The shot was made, unfortunately it missed the vital hit as the giant was too fat.
Ferdinand then thought of a brilliant idea and continuously fired his rifle. Countless crimson red flowers appeared throughout the giant's body as the splashes of blood filled the forest. Then, when the last shot came, the giant finally surrendered and fell to the ground, lifeless. The giant was filled with wounds and the last shot he made apparently hit the spot, which was the center of the neck where the spinal cord was, and apparently where the fat was thin enough for the shot to go through flawlessly.
The giant fell to the ground, the immediate threat disappeared and the rumbling ground disappeared and the surroundings returned to its peaceful state, except for the fact that the walkers were now on the retreat. It really seemed like that the giant was a horde walker, and what kind of horde walker, he'll know by dawn.
