As the class finished, it was already time for lunch. Immediately, the students dispersed out of the rooms.
Owerhn cleaned up his table. He briefly glanced beside his chair where Seyric was seated and smiled.
Seyric, on the other hand, glanced at him with his brows raised from the look on Owerhn's face. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Oh, nothing. How old are you, by the way?" Owerhn asked as he picked up his handbag.
"I'm 10."
"You're 10...? Are you kidding?" Owerhn asked as he blinked and gazed at his body up and down. "I guess that's no wonder that you're small."
Owerhn said as he moved closer towards Seyric with his hands raised above his head and gestured towards Seyric's head.
"I'm 13, but I'm not as tall," Owerhn said with an innocent smile, and his eyes briefly trembled for a second.
"Why is that?" Seyric asked as Owerhn wiggled his head.
"Nothing, but anyway, let me introduce myself properly. I'm Owerhn Mellow," he said as he offered him his hand and added, "I just want it to be proper this time."
"Seyric Cloudflaw, it's nice to meet you," Seyric said and held his hand once again.
Owerhn smiled widely while facing Seyric's gaze. His grip slightly tightened. "Ah, do you find me weird if I stare at you like that? And what about what I did a few minutes ago? As well as my actions?"
He asked as he took his hands back, fidgety, and lowered his head.
"No," Seyric answered as he packed his stuff from the table.
"That's good, that's good. I'm glad," Owerhn smiled at Seyric a few more times before a clap caught their attention, making them fix their gaze in front of the room.
There on the platform remained the presence of their teacher, Ahrton. "Mr. Mellow, will you excuse us, please?"
Ahrton gestured his hands at the door. Owerhn glanced at Seyric and whispered, "I'll wait at the door."
With that said, Owerhn took a left hurriedly as both Ahrton and Seyric were left inside the room.
Ahrton fixed his monocle and marched towards Seyric with grace. He held a book in his hand with an ominous pattern of gold as he placed it on Seyric's table.
"Read this, it may help," Ahrton said as he wiped his coat. "It's antique. Can you perhaps read an old imperial language?"
Seyric nodded his head. "I only know the basics, Sir Ahrton."
"Good enough for someone as young as you. It doesn't matter how long you try to learn. When the time comes, you'd open this book when you needed it the most."
Seyric frowned as he glanced at the book on the table and turned the rusty old cover. The paper was dusty and dull, and his eyes fixed immediately on the content written by hand.
'I, Slyvan Einheart, share the secret and arts of human and companionship.' Seyric's eyes widened as he looked up to see Ahrton's presence was already gone.
He looked around and felt the rampant beat of his heart before he slid the book inside his bag and headed out.
Owerhn leaned against the wall as he swayed his arms. "What did Sir Ahrton say?" He asked with tinged curiosity.
"Nothing much," Seyric answered as Owerhn nodded his head.
"Okay then, come on," Owerhn grabbed his wrist and pulled him along as they marched down the hallway. "Let's go to the cafeteria!"
On the other hand, at the Central Region of Goldenreign, Euris was present as he entered the room after the guards opened the door for him.
Euris took off his cloak as he entered the throne room alone with the man seated on the throne.
He knelt against the ground with a full bow. "I, Euris Cloudflaw, greet His Majesty. May the God of Sun bless your majesty. I am honored to be summoned. I'm at your command!"
Kieran made a proud smile as he gestured his hands. "You may rise."
Euris stood up on his feet and faced the Emperor. On the other hand, Kieran's aura held grace and an incredible amount of power just by his presence.
"How is your child?"
Euris blinked for a moment. He was caught off guard by Kieran's question as he regained composure on his face. "He is well, Your Majesty."
"That is great news," It took him a long while before he spoke. "Have you heard about the current situation of the Kingdom?" Kieran said as he proceeded to the main subject.
"Yes, Your Majesty."
"Very well, prepare yourself for a week."
Euris bowed. "Yes, Your Majesty. As you command."
After the brief interaction between Euris and the king. Seyric, at this moment, sat in front of Owerhn at the academy cafeteria.
Owerhn, who blabbered for a long while now, ate in between his sentences. Seyric silently ate as he glanced at Owerhn once in a while.
"I possess Wind Elemental Mana, how about you?" Owerhn asked.
"I'd rather not talk about it,"
Owerhn frowned and cleared his throat for a moment. "Alright, I'm sure the time will come when you'll be able to tell me. Besides, it's our first day of being friends.
Won't it be rude to push you to tell me your secret, and I also haven't told mine."
Seyric nodded as Owerhn smiled.
"From now on, we'll both be in each other's care," he added.
Seyric nodded. "Alright."
Amidst their chatter, a boy slammed Owerhn's table as he flinched and covered his head with his fingers shaking, his face turned pale as his face fixed on his lap.
"What are you hanging out with this lowly commoner?" The boy said as he wore the extravagant clothes of the academy, and his family crest attached to his right chest as he looked down onto Owerhn.
"Shouldn't you be joining my club? We are the High-Nobility Tamer, only nobles can join the club. I am Kaishan Musk'in, son of a noble County, my father Count Musk'in." He smirked in full pride as two boys behind him acknowledged his presence as they gestured his way.
He spread his arms wide and proud as he raised his brow. "Which family do you belong to? A County? March? Dukedom?" He asked with tinged confidence as he glared at Owerhn who trembled in his seat.
"I am no noble."
Kaishan gestured his hand to his chest. "Ah, I see, that's your family. You should be honored—" he paused for a moment and glanced at Seyric's way, "You're what?!"
"I am sure you heard me," Seyric responded as his gaze fixed on Kaishan.
"You're a lowly commoner? How are you treated by His Grace with respect? Are you lying to me?" Kaishan asked as he glanced at the two boys behind him as they whispered to each other.
"Is Cloudflaw not noble?" Kaishan asked once more as Seyric nodded, which made Kaishan cough and clear his throat.
'That's impossible. His Grace was the one who brought him here. I'm pretty sure he's a big shot or he just refused to let anyone know his background...?' Kaishan smiled as he glanced at Seyric with his chin raised.
"Ah, I think we can consider you as an important guest of His Grace. You are free to join our club. What do you say?" He said proudly as the two boys behind him nodded and clapped.
"I'm sorry, but I have to decline," Seyric said as Kaishan frowned.
"A lowly commoner like you, dare to refuse my offer?!"
Kaishan's body shook and fumed as he glared at Seyric.
He then turned his back to face Owerhn and placed his hand on Owerhn's shoulder as he flinched. "Watch your back, you lowly trash. How can you steal His Grace's guest from us?"
Owerhn shook his head as Kaishan glared at him before he scoffed.
"Let's go!" He ordered the two boys behind as they altogether strode away from their table.
