In prison, Long Chen came to know shocking information.
"…Captain Lian Ming has been demoted! She is now an officer in the Law Enforcement Department. I heard that Mayor Wan Tao will soon assign the next warden of this prison."
Lian Ming's official rank as a Law Enforcement Officer was that of a Captain. This was an extremely high rank when compared to a typical warden, so she was respectfully called Captain by her subordinates. However, there was no way a Captain would head the prison next time, so the people reverted to calling it the warden.
After submitting his resignation, Long Chen immediately left the prison. Many of his comrades wished him well.
'The Mayor is weakening Lian Ming. The prison's security has weakened as well. The JRA and the Mayor will soon take advantage of this opportunity.'
'If that man escapes, he will definitely attack Lian Ming's family. It's a pity that Lian Ming never knew that other than committing some heinous crimes, this man was also the son of a highly reputed figure in the JRA. She could have found many secrets from him.'
Long Chen knew that the guards assigned to protect Lian Ming's family couldn't defeat this man.
'I must somehow alert Lian Ming of this incident,' Long Chen thought.
However, Long Chen knew that going straight away to Lian Ming would be foolish. She was still furious at the masked man for abducting her son. She would tear all pretense and attack him if he was stupid enough to meet her.
Lian Ming was much stronger than Long Chen, so fighting her would be foolish.
"…I should make some preparations near the Law Enforcement Department," Long Chen whispered.
It was a good thing that Long Chen still possessed ten kilograms of those power stones. He could use them to enhance his mental power and Ardor's strength temporarily.
This was one of the auxiliary skills that the Moonlit Phantasm True Scripture possessed.

While Long Chen was preparing to warn Lian Ming about a possible large-scale prison break, Ren Yue was getting anxious waiting for him.
'What's taking him so long? Didn't he say that he was going to prison to submit his resignation letter? It's already noon now. He should have been back by now.'
With an ugly expression, she thought, 'He isn't planning to betray me, right? No…That's not possible. The value of this cultivation technique is far above my own. He even healed me and my meridians.'
Soon, she considered a terrifying possibility, 'Has he been exposed?! Did that despicable woman capture him?!'
As more time passed, Ren Yue's worries increased.
'…Should I head out and search for him? But what if he thinks that I am restraining his freedom? Arghh…Waiting for someone is so tough!'
Ren Yue's own identity was rather sensitive. If someone recognized her, she would be imprisoned again. This would indeed be bad.
'I must wait for the end of the day. If he doesn't return by dusk, I will ask Grandpa Mo to send our faction to look for him. I can't let anything happen to him.'
Meanwhile, Long Chen remained oblivious to Ren Yue's worries as he booked a room in a building close to the Law Enforcement Department.
During lunchtime, Lian Ming left the Law Enforcement Department. She was heading towards her house and the building that Long Chen chose in that direction.
Long Chen closed the curtains. After a few seconds, he opened the curtains slightly and gazed at Lian Ming walking on the ground.
Lian Ming suddenly felt someone observing her and looked around. This was merely her sixth sense acting up.
However, as she looked around, she suddenly saw golden words floating in the air.
"Hello, Mrs. Lian," Long Chen had written this sentence using his illusionary power.
Before Lian Ming could say anything, the words quickly transformed, "You must be angry at me for that previous matter, but you should understand that I tried my best not to resort to that method. Moreover, I didn't harm your child in the slightest. I just played with him before leaving him in your house."
Lian Ming was furious at this mysterious individual for kidnapping her child.
Long Chen noticed that Lian Ming was trying to restrain her anger. She had already clenched her fists and was ready to move and search for Long Chen's location.
"…I recently found out about your demotion. I am sure you must have guessed that the Mayor is planning to take action against you. However, you are still underestimating him and the JRA. Without your presence, the prison is weak. Don't be surprised if there is a massive prison break in the upcoming days."
"You have many enemies among these convicts, and some might even target your family. The guards you assign to your family might not hold them back. Take care."
The golden words abruptly vanished, leaving Lian Ming dumbfounded at her position. She felt as though this man was giving her a hint regarding a secret conspiracy.
'If the convicts really escape from the prison, they will definitely try to target my family. Those guards really couldn't have blocked them. Thankfully, I know of this and deal with this possibility.'
Lian Ming sighed as she thought, 'Why did he give me such a hint? Does he feel bad about abducting Kang'er?'
Lian Ming thought more about that situation and finally felt her last bit of resentment towards this mysterious man fade.
He had saved her and, in return, asked for a request. And she even refused to fulfill that request. This man had to abduct her child just to make her fulfill his request. Moreover, he didn't harm her child. He even took a significant risk to inform her of this secret conspiracy.
Long Chen's reason for saving Lian Ming was remarkably simple. She was one of the 4 Star Warriors in Suqui Town. He was awfully familiar with her due to the events in his previous life. He felt that controlling her actions would be far easier than other 4-Star Warriors in Suqui Town.
After giving this hint to Lian Ming, Long Chen immediately headed towards Ren Yue's Manor. His resignation application in the prison was quickly approved.
It wasn't a big deal that a clerk wanted to leave the prison during these tumultuous times.
After Long Chen returned, Ren Yue immediately bombarded him with questions.
"Are you alright? What took you so long? Did they question you regarding the reason for your resignation? I was so scared and thought that you were exposed and they were torturing you."
Ren Yue's hands gently caressed Long Chen's face as she asked those questions with a worried look.
Before Long Chen could reply, the two heard giggles from the side. Hu Jie and Peng Gen could hardly restrain themselves as they saw Ren Yue acting like this.
Ren Yue was really embarrassed and infuriated. She vigorously stomped her feet on the ground and shouted, "Haven't you been dilly-dallying quite a bit?! What are you doing in the manor?! What if someone enters the manor and takes me hostage?! What good are you then?! Get out and patrol the boundary!"
Hu Jie and Peng Gen visibly shrunk upon hearing Ren Yue's furiously ordering them.
Long Chen noticed their predicament and suddenly spoke, "Miss Ren, I think it's alright. They are both very skilled and will take action before anyone can enter this manor. The enemy might see them if they go outside and form a plan to deal with them."
His words calmed down Ren Yue. She knew Long Chen was right, but she didn't want to show any kindness to this pair of rascals.
Ren Yue snorted in anger while turning her head, "Whatever. Suit yourself."
She grabbed Long Chen's hand and led him to her room, "Alright. Let's head inside. I want to know all that you experienced today."
Long Chen turned towards Hu Jie and Peng Gen. The two were showing him grateful looks. Long Chen raised his hand and shook off their gratitude while mouthing, "It's nothing."
Hu Jie and Peng Gen were astounded to see Long Chen stand up for them. They felt gratified as they knew that if not for him, their young lady definitely wouldn't have forgiven them so easily.
"Don't you think that this kid is actually really nice? He has become pleasing to my eye," Hu Jie spoke.
Peng Gen says, "Yeah. But don't you think that we are overlooking something crucial."
Hu Jie shrugged casually, responding, "If we forgot it, it probably wasn't important."
