Chapter 2 - Chapter 1

"Arra, slow down!" Claire called as I sprinted down the halls, giggling. I was so excited!

I was finally getting a new little sibling!

Last time this happened, two years ago, I was told that I couldn't see my new little sister. They had told me that she had died when she was born, but now I know better. They just wanted me to find her on my own; it was a test. She's really cute, but really pale. I named her Chrystiana because it's a really pretty name, just like her.

"Arra!" Slone yelled, flying over my head and landing in front of me, cutting me off.

"Why would you do that?" I whined, stopping in front of her.

"Because you know you're not allowed to be there." She put her hands on her hips, her platinum silver hair settling onto her shoulders. "It's too dangerous for you."

"Then why do you and Claire get to go, huh?" I pointed out, tearing up.

"You wouldn't understand…" She mumbled, looking away, as Claire finally caught up to us.

"You'd expect lightning to make me faster, m-" I cut Claire off as I walked around them both and stomped into my mothers room.

I yelped, shielding my face as a fierce wind tried to knock me over. What's happening!

"Mommy?" I called as I pushed my way in, unable to open my eyes. "Mommy!" I screamed, getting scared.

Suddenly, it hurt to breathe, and I started to cry. I heard people screaming around me, heavy things falling on the floor. I saw rainbows everywhere… it was so pretty.

Then everything stopped.

I heard my mother scream something I couldn't understand before something was placed into my arms and I was ushered out of the room.

I sat on the ground for a while, I don't know how long, until I felt something move in my arms and I looked down. I grinned widely.

"Baby sister!" I silently squealed. "Slone! Claire! Look!"

"Aww she's so cute." Slone smiled and Claire scoffed.

"She looks like she has shit-" She stopped talking when I felt a rush of wind hit me. Startled, I look up.

"Where did Claire go?" I asked an annoyed looking Slone.

"She had to go wash her mouth." She said, turning to me as she ruffled the jet black feathers of her large wings before tightly tucking them against her spine.

My little sister blew at Slone and she was hit by a gust of wind. "Woah!" She exclaimed, laughing. "You have some pretty strong lungs."

My little sister giggled loudly, squirming around in my arms.

"I think I have just the right name for you. " Slone said, tickling her hand.

"Like what?" I tilted my head, but she just smiled and shook her head before taking her from my arms.

I watched her walk away, probably taking her to her new room, while I sat on the floor.

I looked at my hands and saw that they were covered in black sparkles and I giggled, throwing them into the air and watching them fall around me.

My mommy loves me so much.

She shows me magic tricks and plays hide and seek with me. She's really good at it, I never seem to find her. She's even given me the biggest room in the castle! It's all by itself; I need the space because I'm a big girl. She was really glad to give it to me.

She says that I'm special and that I'm really strong. But when I get in trouble, I get sent to my room. I don't remember anything after that, just that I wake up hurt the next day. Mommy just says that we ran around the garden until we both got really tired.

I love my mommy!

I giggled as I felt someone pick me up and set me onto their hip.

"Hey there little bell." Naomi greeted me, poking my nose.

"Hi Mimi," I giggled.

She frowned at me before pulling a handkerchief from her pocket and wiped my face. "Why do you have all of this stuff on your face?"

"It's mommy's magic, right?" I asked and she sighed before nodding. "Isn't it pretty?"

"Very," she frowned before carrying me off to my room for a nap.
