Gone was the genteel and easygoing demeanor he had shown at their first meeting. In a fit of rage, Shuten-dōji flung the Empress of Liuli away with a wave of his hand, clearly showing he held no regard for her, despite her high standing in the Liuli Country.
Chiyomiko frowned slightly as she watched the scene unfold. Although she had completely lost faith in the Liuli royal family, there was still a hundred-year-old bond between the Shrine and the Liuli royalty.
The Empress of Liuli picked herself up, somewhat disheveled, but seemed utterly unconcerned with Shuten-dōji's action and her own injuries. She quickly approached again, saying, "My lord, please do not be angry. It must be some despicable trick used by that Xia Country boy, otherwise how could he possibly injure you?"
"Despicable?"
