I was a guy who always liked to be alone. My Parents used to think it was a problem. My teachers thought the same. My counselor recommended seeing a doctor. My siblings always asked if I was okay. I never really understood why they were so worried. I always liked being alone. I always liked the freedom of being able to think without having to worry about what people would say about my thoughts. If they were mentioned aloud.
I mean it's not like I was a complete shut in. I had a good schedule. Starting with my schooling from 9-3 , Followed by arriving at work from 3:30 to 9. After work, I came home and played a couple of games. Then I would get up and do it all over again.
Looking back I wish I had done things a little differently, Spent less time at work, more time with friends. Less time gaming. More time with family.
It is too late now though.
"Alex get up"
"Ughhhh'' Alex yawned. "Why do you have to wake me up? "Look at this," his best friend and roommate Tanner said, ``cutting him off." What are you yipping about'' asked Alex? "Check out the sky, it's like meteorites or something are falling " "Fine I'll take a look. Are you sure it's not just shooting stars" Alex asked? getting up and walking over to the window. "Why does he have to get me up this hour?" grumbled Alex wondering why his friend suddenly stopped talking. "He normally won't shut up" thought Alex to himself. "Alright I'm looking, '' said Alex as he looked out the window, freezing up in horror.
"Tanner run" said Alex springing to action after a second of hesitation. "Come on Tanner '' Said Alex tugging on his arm" finally snapping Tanner out of his daze. "Come on lets go hurry up get out of the building" screamed Alex. Starting to sound hysterical. okay okay shouted back tanner'' just as they both started running out the door. "Hey we forgot" "No time,'' said Tanner ''. as they made it onto the field next to their dorm. BOOOMMMM!!!!!! A loud crash sounded. Alex and Tanner glanced back at what used to be a big 6 story building but is now just a pile of rubble and stone.
"Ahhhhh" Tanner started wailing. "My sister, our friends". "I know" mumbled Alex holding back tears himself knowing this wasn't the time for grief. "Come on, we need to find a shelter or get out of the city at least" said Alex to his grieving friend tanner.
'I know," said Tanner, still wailing but we can't leave them here. "I know we can't. But said Alex sighing We can come back after the meteors have stopped falling," said Alex.
"Okay let's go" said Tanner finally calming himself after hearing his friends reassuring words.
"Which way should we go though" asked Tanner? "Away from the fallen meteors for now" said Alex with assurance. "We could head to my folks house in the countryside" mentioned Tanner as an afterthought. "Although I don't know how to tell them about Britney" said tanner as he started to cry again. You have to tell them though they deserve to know without having to keep worrying" mentioned Alex. "I know," said Tanner, calming down again.
