"Steph!"
Keisha called out to her friend, hoping to get a response. Instead, she was met with the deafening silence of the forest, the only noise to be heard was Mr. Samuel's loud hollers not too far from where she stood.
They'd come to the forest after Keisha reported the trespassing case to him, hoping to find Steph and her friends. Unfortunately, all their lines were unreachable at the moment, and it was making Keisha anxious.
"We've been yelling their names for thirty minutes, Keisha. Perhaps we should go deeper into the forest?"
Mr. Samuel's face was contorted with concern, a frown marring his handsome features. He'd come to the forest as soon as Keisha had called him, beginning the search for his disobedient students long before Keisha met up with him.
"We won't cover enough ground if we stay together," Keisha mused, creasing her brows. "Maybe we should split up?"
"That's not a good idea. There could still be ghouls lurking and you can't possibly fight them off."
