Everything through the door was exactly the same as everything before the door except for one thing. When he turned back to look at the door all he could see was a rectangle cut out of air with a doorknob inside. He put his head through the doorway and all the doors were still there. Ein was baffled. Mair led the horses to the door and handed him one of the reins and he led it through still staring at the doorway.
Mair lead the second horse through and pulled the door shut behind them. As she did so he noticed the door vanished and the doorknob appeared to shink and became a nail on a sign. He stared dumbfounded for a moment before deciding to look around.
They stood at the center of a crossroads.
The sign pointing west/east told them Taleford Center would be west while Dremmen Pool was to the east. The Northwest/Southeast sign read Nordunwick/Sadenth. Suddenly Ein heard chittering and felt something small hit him in the head.
"Hey watch it!" Ein looked up to see two chipmunks chasing eachother through the trees and several tiny faint blue lights.
Mair picked up the nut that had hit him in the head and put it in one of Einar's pockets. She then handed him a small pouch and motioned to several other nuts on the ground. He took the hint... while she tied the horses he gathered fallen hazelnuts. Mair then grabbed a small knife and cut a few small branches off a tree quickly stopping the bark and leaves into a basket and then cutting the wood twigs into small bits... *This must be a medicinal tree* Ein thought as he watched from the corner of his eye while continuing to gather nuts. When he had finished he pulled the pouch shut and handed it to Mair. She tied it to a saddlebag, tied her basket shut and motioned that they should remount the horses as she was untying the reins.
