After the bomb dropped on us out of nowhere, she started telling us about her past. Yes, it's backstory time. Well, anyway, she said that she was born with wings, which were cut off immediately after birth so that the church would not take her away. Even though she is human, she has wings. How is it possible? It's possible because she has Alatus blood in her, which manifested like this. Btw her parents taught her to speak the language we speak in. She said it is ancient language of Alatus. Her family passed down books which btw would now be extremely expensive by now. It is said that they passed it down from generation to generation, and when the book was too damaged, they copied it onto stone tablets. She said that there were stories about the creation of the world and similar things written in it.
Her parents loved her, but when she was twelve they died of because disease. Then she started killing animals to start earning money. Of course tough hide and scales are good for armor and the antlers are suitable for ritual swords.. she said said. She told us a lot about her adventures and how she became a dark swordsman. She also told us about how she gradually started rescuing people like her and created a village that often migrated and ran away from the church. She ended her whole speech by asking us for help and for us to return with her to her village as soon as possible and take everyone here.
Oh, and she said that most of the inhabitants of that nomadic village believe in an "Evil God" named Magnalias. Drea said that Magnalias was the name of the heroic king of Alatus in times of great war. So in this world people believe in two gods that don't exist. But they will probably be some legendary heroes from old times. In it, Unmo is said to have cut off one of Magnalias's wings, thereby winning.
"What would I gain from helping you?" I asked. She probably expected such a question.
"Nedávno jsem ulovila jedno zvláštní stvoření co melo v jedné ze svích pařát tohle." She showed me a bottle in her hand, which I immediately recognized. It was Spirit water.
Draa's eyes lit up as if something had occurred to her."I'd like to try something, but first Bunme must become Erliel's subordinate."
What she said shocked us all, but then it hit me."You want her to gain access to my Evolve skill and then use that water to evolve right?"
"I knew you would understand Erliel. Imagine if she grew wings again!!" She replied enthusiastically and honestly, it would be pretty interesting idea.
"That is true, but only if evolution skill will count her as an Alatus race and not a human." I answered Drea with serious face.
"What the hell are those two talking about? Is it possible for my wings to regrow?!" Bunma asked because she didn't know what we were talking about.
"I really don't know what they are talking about, but I got the special skill thanks to being Erliel's subordinate. It helps me improve skills etc." Pramis answered because she hadn't evolved yet so she didn't know much about it and we didn't tell her either.
"Might as well evolve Pramis while we're at it." I said and of course Drea was excited because she was going to see two evolutions at once.
"That sounds interesting.. more power is definitely useful, but let me think about it for a moment." Bunma replied.
"How about you give me your answer after we get back from the trip?" I answered. Although Drea was a bit disappointed, I think Bunme deserves time to think. Bunme just nodded in response.
We prepared for the expedition. Pramis was extremely excited and so was I honestly. We've never been out of the woods in this world, so I guess that was to be expected. I quickly prepared some leather bags for our things. I prepared a sword made from antlers that I put under my belt and several knives made from fangs. Pramis prepared several hard-to-break bottles of spirit alcohol... I still don't understand why Drea has it and how they got to Pramis. Well, I think she will want to drink itwith the people from the village. Of course she didn't forget to prepare the weapons. We also took dried pieces of meat and fruit.
After I put some more clothes in the leather bag, we were ready to go. During all of this, Bunme just watched us and said almost nothing unless Drea asked her something.
"Show us the way." I said to Bunma.
"Follow me. According to the sun... we have to go this way." Bunma said and we set off.
We didn't meet anything in the forest, but we talked a little along the way. From what i've noticed, unlike me, Drea or Pramis, Bunme isn't very talkative. Not that she doesn't respond, but most of the time she doesn't start a conversation.
We were almost out of the forest, but a red bear appeared out of nowhere, whose species name I can't remember. Me, Pramis and Bunme got into formation with Pramis standing in front with Bunme and me supporting them from behind with ranged attacks. It was an extremely effective combination. Pramis is mainly good in attack and defense, although her speed is not half bad either. Bunme, in contrast, focuses on fast attacks with great accuracy. And with me it was a perfect cooperation with me.
The fight didn't even last a few seconds. I caught that bear with tentacles from the darkness. Pramis ran and stabbed him in the chest. Meanwhile, Bunme jumped into the air and pierced his head with her sword. Bunme wanted to continue on our way, but I stopped her and started to dismantle it.
I took the furs and the rest of the things from the bear that fit in our leather bags and we went on our way again. Of course, after we left the forest we immedietly run into something that was blocking our way. It was a group of people, this time a little bigger than before.
In the front line stood tens of knights and behind them those who resembled crossbowmen only that they had nets instead of crossbow arrows. In the center of the formation of those soldiers was their leader, judging by the look of his armor. On his chest there was an eye with three lines below it. Oh, and all of them had axes. If i have to guess, they are this world's version of the Templars. Of course, they won't send just one group to capture something that sent a pillar of light into the sky. I wouldn't be surprised if more than one kingdom was trying to get me. Actually how many kingdoms are out there? I'll ask Bunma later.
They didn't have wizards this time. We all prepared for the fight. We were at the edge of the forest and rays of light shone through the last leaves of the trees. I flapped my wings and flew into the air. Their captain shouted something and the knights ran towards us. Using Nature magic, I created a huge hand that tried to squeeze them. It didn't work out, but it slowed them down. Meanwhile, I created a magic spell that I learned from Drea. Arrows began to rain down on the knights from the sky. Meanwhile, of course, Pramis and Bunme were already running towards them.
*SWISH*
Suddenly nets appeared in my field of vision. I created a snake from the darkness that bit into the net, which slowly began to decompose and completely evaporated before they reached me. Of course in between all of that several of the knights ended up beheaded by Pramis. In the midst of all this, Bunme was appearing and disappearing infront of knights, killing them one by one. Of course, I didn't wait and created a spear of darkness that I threw into the middle of their formation. Tentacles from the darkness wrapped around their legs. Right after that, the roots of the plants wrapped around them and thorns grew on them.
A salvo of black and gold spears appeared in the sky and began to fall on the crossbowmen who were preparing another net. A few of them survived and shot another net at me, which I had to dodge because I didn't have time to use magic. Meanwhile, Pramis and Bunme were killing all the trapped knights.
After the last Crossbowman fell, the fight was finally over. We were collecting soldiers weapons and other things that might come in handy.
When out of nowhere Bunme spoke. "It seems that not only the kingdom is after you, but also church. They probably already knows you're a Winged Demon... sorry, i meen Alatus."
"I told you not to call me a winged demon. My race, from what I know, should be quite peaceful." I answered her a bit angry. Btw, the knights were really something like the Templars. Interesting.
It was slowly getting dark, so we set up camp. Bunme was explaining important things to me. The flame of our campfire was blazing and I was gradually learning the important things I needed to know. We are now in Sluen Kingdom. The refugee village to which she is leading us to is near the town of Arslen. The only problem is that it is the capital of the kingdom. How come they haven't found them yet? They have found them a few times but they always move when they are found out. Now they are in ruins which are located in the forest near that city. Even though I say it's close, it's days away from that city. Fortunately, we will take the safest route possible.
We will go around the forest and on the way we will stop in only one town to replenish supplies. Then when we get to the coast, we will walk close to the shore until we reach the forest. Then we will go back a similar way, only when we come across Sluen Greate Fores, we will go into it. It shouldn't be that dangerous there, but we'll make a smaller base there anyway. We will gradually move people from that base to the clearing around the Spirit Well.
I got ready to go to bed, but Bunme did something strange. Instead of sleeping on the ground, she climbed up the nearest tree that was around us. She was mumbling about how much she hates.. frogs or something? And that she will not sleep on the ground. So I let her climb the tree and I built a smaller shelter with the help of Nature Magic.
I haven't been using it much lately because, honestly, I don't even know how to use it in combat. Anything I can do with nature magic I can do with Twilight magic. Even so, I should practice with it, what if I can make plant golems in the future? This reminds me, I might make some typical fantasy race next time. Like Elves. Wouldn't it be cool if I created new races in a fantasy world?
Btw, while we're talking about races, there is something else in this world like the human race, but it can't be called a race. They call them monsters. Unlike humans who are physically strong and bad at magic. Monsters have great aptitude with magic. Why can't they be considered a race? They are very different from each other. Some monsters are small, some are large. Some have hairs and some have scales. According to Bunme, they are said to be fighting against human domination. They also have their own kingdom. I'm actually quite interested in what they look like, but they are quite far from this kingdom.
With these thoughts i finally fell asleep. In my dreams, I was again sailing in a boat on the river in which were hundreds of lights floating. While sailing, a woman standing on the water appeared in front of me. Her eyes were red and she had several pairs of wings on her back. Her hair was black as coal. It was clear that she was of the Alatus race, but I know from Drea that Alatus are only supposed to have one pair of wings. The strangest thing was that where Alatus would normally have white wings, a pair of black wings. She took my hand and at that moment I woke up.
