A lot happened during these five years. The boys seemed to be geniuses of their time as they showed unparalleled skill and hard work in their cultivation and their martial art.
All of them seemed to favour a specific weapon to train with, Mariel loved using longswords and spears to fight, Damien loved the spears and staffs while Ralph loved the double short swords and the staff.
The boys were turning fifteen today, all of them are to go to a cultivators sext where that can develop their abilities as of fifteen years old.
Mariel was very excited at this. He has been training just to be at his father's level. That was his dream, his father's powerful image has been engraved in his head.
He, along with his brothers decided to go to a sect to develop their skills and become more powerful.
Their mother has been teaching them about the sects for some time now.
It turns out that the currency which they use in their little village is worthless in the sects as the sects use points that students accumulate to exchange for resources so they have to work very hard.
The sect that they will be going one of the best sects in the Jade empire, the sunrise sect where they focus on all fields of cultivation. Here, Mariel and his brothers will be able to all enter at once.
"Bye mom!"
"Goodbye my babies, mummy will miss you!" Jennifer shouted as Mariel and his brothers boarded the carriage which will take them.
The brothers all waved back as the carriage left the premises of their mansion.
Jennifer somewhat cried silent tears as she watched her children leave. She knows that the weak aren't recognised in this world and that her children all had to leave one day but... She truly didn't want them to go.
"Don't worry dear. They have to carve a path on their own. You have helped them as much as you can..." Alaric came from behind and hugged his beautiful wife as both of them watched the carriage until they couldn't see it anymore.
...
Mariel was feeling very nervous about the whole thing. He has never met people apart from the maids and his parents. Going to a new place now was... A lot to take in.
He turned sideways and looked at his brothers. Damien's eyes were closed while Ralph was fast asleep.
'I guess I'm the only one thinking about this too much' Mariel thought as he rested his head on the wooden wall beside him.
Over the last few years, his talent for cultivation and hieghfins came into the spotlight.
Hieghfins were the special ability of every cultivator in this world. Over 80% of the people in this world aren't born with it and only a select few, can rise up to be powerful.
To be powerful... That goal has been in Mariel's mind ever since the village which his family resided in was attacked by demons. Creatures that are not of this realm. The demons have no goal other than to rule over others.
Luckily for his village at that time, his father was a high ranking cultivator. He quickly made quick work of the demons with his own hieghfin which was the power to manipulate objects.
Ever since that day, Mariel has been training hard to be strong too. After he witnessed the demons killing the villagers whilst being happy... He decided that the demons have to be eliminated from this world.
Those ruthless creatures shouldn't be allowed to exist!
Apart from the existence of demons, there were also beasts that roamed the forest. They were called magical beasts. Mariel learned that magical beasts can be tamed and can be used in battle.
The people who tame them are called the beast tamers. The beast tamers in this world are also highly respected.
Dexter has so many aims now, to unlock his hieghfin, to tame a beast, to wipe out demons and to be strong enough to protect others.
This was his goal.
...
After riding for over thirteen hours the carriage suddenly came to a halt. Now, Damien and Ralph were all awake.
"Young masters, we've arrived!"
Upon hearing the voice, Mariel stood up and stepped out of the carriage, his brothers followed behind him.
"MMM...ah!"
Ralph stretched as he finally got to extend his body after being curled up for hours.
Glancing to his left, Mariel looked at the man in a black robe walking towards them.
"Young masters. The sunrise sect is atop the mountain." The driver said as he pointed the top of the tall mountain in front of them.
"So you're telling us that we have to hike?" Mariel asked in disbelief.
He heard that the new students will undergo some tests. And he didn't hear that they have to hike which meant that hiking up the mountain was useless and a complete waste of time.
But alas, they still had to do it.
"Sigh... Let's move! It'll soon get dark!" White haired Damien said as he walked pass Mariel and began hiking up the mountain. Mariel and Ralph both followed behind him and began climbing up to the top.
