Chapter 4 - Chapter 2: Pinpoint

I took a stroll around the forest before going back to the pentagon, in the process, I found additional resources that can be traded.

I opened my hand and exposed my wrists on the blank air, to be able to make an object by mere pinpoint of a certain chemicals and matters.

The pentagon has already blocked the sunlight, coming from the west, it was already sunset, the giant shadow of the pentagon was dark, I had trouble seeing through.

I made myself a small rope and a jetpack. Though someone might see me making all these sorts of stuffs within my hands, I fear that no one would, I had already secured my place and ready to go back up any second.

I wore the jetpack and held the rope on my hands, with a bunch of resources I have was being stored in my bag.

1...2...3...up I go, the jetpack was doing well than I expected. I arrived at the edge of the pentagon, and I quickly burned the jetpack into ashes, so nobody could see the evidence, as a backup plan, I already had my hands on the rope to be able to explain it to others who might've seen me.

I put the rope back in the bag and walked through the center of the pentagon, where a large community has settled on, it was also the place where I could make money and trade it to other people, to be able to eat, to be able to live.

Should I just make money with my power? You ask, but as I have already explained, the more complicated it is to make an object, and how many things I will make will manage to take a toll on me.

As I walked through the center, there was already a bunch of shelters I have passed through, some, made of wood, and some, were made of concrete. People who have lived there were able to live just because of the pentagon.

Edward had spotted me among the crowd, and he waved his hands, he then walked towards me.

"You're already back?" He had some hope left withing his face

"Yeah. I managed to get more resources this time though." I showed him the things I have kept inside my bag and his face beamed.

"We can trade it with meat." Edward was smiling.

I nodded and he already led the way towards the person who has some interest in trading with the things I have.

"Wood, herbs, water, and a small amount of meat. Good, I will accept your trade." The man had taken the things and put out the 'finest meat' he has. He says that a lot, but it was just plain old meat.

The size of the meat was a bit much for both Edward and I, so we shared it to other people who need it too.

I noticed that attitude a lot in Edward, he was naïve, kind, kind of smart and eccentric. Edward was also three years stuck within the world of dreams, but I barely know anything about him. I have to be cautious.

While we were giving out the ratios to the people, Edward turned to me and said.

"Something happened, right?" He smiled.

"Yeah, something did, what made you caught this interest in this topic?" I asked him back and he smiled.

"Nothing, just being cautious around my teammates, I mean, we have to eliminate the nightmares too, right?"

"Yeah." I replied and he chuckled.

"That's just work, and that's what makes us 'heroes' inside these innocent people's minds. Little did they know that it's their fault that the nightmares keep flooding in."

I didn't say anything back, just his words were enough to suspect this guy.

"Oh, was that too weird? Sorry, it was just a food for thought, it was the problem I have been searching on in these past three years."

"Yeah, don't mind."

What he said was right though, the more people had opened the world of dreams, the more nightmares will rush back in. It's basically just like a world rpg, a single public server but, a lot of players, the more enemies will spawn to challenge them.

"Well, shall we eat our ratio?" Edward and I sat on the same spot we always hang out, the edge of the pentagon, there with a single alcohol lamp, and two cans of apple juice with two people sharing one meat they have eaten every day.

The cold night was enough to make me stay awake, to spy on Edward, to observe his traits and habits. My guts have been telling me, that he's dangerous.

"What're you spacing out for?" Edward was still holding a part of the meat while looking at me.

"Nothing, I was just wondering if I would still be able to travel farther than I have before." I ate the meat and had finished my dinner.

Edward nodded and he finished his ratio.

"So where are you going tonight?" Edward brushed off the dust on his thigh.

"I would just travel around, I won't die, I'll be careful." I replied while I checked my things on my small bag.

"You won't get some rest?"

"I'll be having a quick nap whenever I feel tired." I smiled at him, and he nodded.

After that, I jumped down from the pentagon and began trailing for the location of the other pentagon.

I kind of decided to search the pentagon I found since I could get extra information.

I walked through the forest, so far so good, there's not many monsters. I took out my journal book and jot down some information I just got right now: the FEARS are mostly active from 6am up to 6pm that's a good info.

After writing those down, I put the book back to the bag and started looking for evidence, if monsters are just hiding here.

Chrkk—

There, a sound of a leaf being crushed by an enormous amount of weight. I didn't look back, and continued to walk forward, to be able to manipulate the monster that is watching me right now.

I acted as if I was looking for something under the rocks, and a hint of sound was being emitted from behind, the sound of something breathing.

As I looked back, the slimy texture of the Fear was horrible, the stench of human blood and flesh.

I hopped from behind, to create some distance between us. The monster looked at me, as if it was shocked.

I created a shotgun, element by element, I pointed it at the monster, the monster shrieked like it was about to die.

I pulled the trigger, the sound of 'click' echoed through the forest.

The gun had no bullet.

As soon as the monster found out that there was no bullet being shot, it rushed towards me, attempting to end the fight with one big gulp.

It opened its mouth, and the smell was awful. I rolled down towards my left and threw the gun away, I created another object.

"I am sure fond of bombs."

Another C4 explosive, the monster looked at me and rushed left and right, it jumped high, attempting to crush me to death.

I took a sidestep and threw the bomb to its mouth. I ran away and it blew. Creating a muffled sound of a bomb exploding.

Blood squirt out from the monster, its organs being torn.

Damnit, I like this kind of scenery

After a moment, there was now silence, the flesh and organs were right on the dirt, I decided to put them on the barrel and burn it to pieces.

I did what I said. Now the corpse is undetected.

I continued to walk more further, and then at last, I have pinpointed the exact location of the other pentagon.

Compared to ours, it was mossy, full of vines, and it was no longer sturdy.

"No wonder anyone had never been here before." I raised my hand and created a jetpack.

My hands were starting to ache, it looks like this is my limit.

I successfully created a jetpack and used it to go up. As soon as I landed on the top of the wall, I burned the jetpack and studied my surroundings. No sign of intelligent species anywhere.

I took a sigh and relaxed my muscles. I still have a lot to do.

I took a walk around the edges of the wall, still, there were no one who tried to stop or introduced to me. I bet they are hiding right now. I don't know where, but I'm sure someone is hiding.

Probably inside the walls?

I looked back behind me, probably thinking that there was someone there. I shrugged it off and studied the walls.

There might be a false door or a false wall. There could be a hole somewhere.

I walked and walked, then suddenly I heard a small creak once I stepped unto something.

I looked down, it was sturdy, but the sounds didn't lie. It was a wooden board painted into grey to camouflage unto its surroundings.

Then I heard a click. Behind me, was a person, holding a gun. The next thing I knew, the wooden board under me was opened, and I fell.

Pinpoint of the base of a possible ally.
