Chapter 2 - Prologue Part 2

When little Sena was nine she had yet to leave her room. Her room took the whole space on a floor at the top of a large mansion.

Her room consisted of many different rooms, some for storage, one to sleep in, one to bathe in, a kitchen, one large living room(it is a third of the size of the next room) and another large room with one table, two chairs placed next to each other pushed in, a steady ladder with wheels by the wall and floor to ceiling shelves filled with books. The majority of windows were high on the walls and mostly stayed open excluding the ones in her bedroom, the kitchen and her living room.

The living room is in the center of all the rooms. One door is the only entrance and exit to the floor she is on. Another door leads to her library which takes up the entire left side of the floor. Two more doors lead to corridors. Through the first door is a corridor with doors leading to the kitchen and storage rooms. The second leads to the bedroom, bathroom, linen cupboard and bathroom supplies.

The person who used to sit In the second chair has been gone for three years. That person taught Sena how to read and write and how to find different books in the large library. They taught her how to wash herself and make her bed. How to cook and clean. How to entertain herself with toys and games. The only technology present being purely educational (a large portion was still left out) and all regular home appliances including a land line to call the lower floors but excluding a TV, cellphone and anything that would let her reach the outside world.

Since that person left she has mostly been left on her own. With the monthly visits from men and women in black and white uniform (now known as servants) who would come look through her room and restock her supplies. They would leave when they were done. Sena was a lonely child but their expressions were so cold she could not bring herself to talk to them.

On this day the usually deserted view from those few reachable windows was covered in black figures scurrying about. It was a curious sight for little Sena she had never seen that many people before. Her door was unlocked this frightened her but also made her curious because it was not the day for the servants to restock her supplies. Her curiosity won and she went to stand in front of the door at what she assumed was close enough to see who or what came in and far enough away to run.

The door opened to reveal two servants and behind them a beautiful middle aged woman in a light blue evening gown. Sena's feet were fixed to the floor, she had never seen such a glamorous dress before. While she was staring the servants had moved to either side of the door and the lady had strode in, stopping a few steps in front of her looking down at her with a gentle smile observing her she had innocent green eyes, wavy black hair reaching her mid back, wearing a plain yellow dress with blue shoes.

Sena snapped out of her daze and started fidgeting nervous about meeting this new person. She quickly recalled that she was supposed to greet whenever she met someone. She said in a nervous and quiet voice, "Good morning Miss." Dragging her eyes from the lady's dress to her face.

The lady's smile became even gentler at this and said softly, "Are you Sena little one?" Said little one was slightly confused after thinking for a while her cheeks flushed red and she nodded her head repeatedly.

The lady chuckled and held out a slim gloved hand while saying, "Nice to meet Sena. You can call me Third Aunt. Now come here." A chirp replied, "Yes, Third Aunt!" Bounced over and took her hand. Third Aunt led the little girl down the stairs with servants in tow.

When they reached the bottom of the plain wooden staircase they walked through another door opening up a whole new world to Sena. Sena stared wide eyed at everything she saw. From the carpet on the floor to the chandeliers hanging up high the small thing felt visually shocked. Remaining in that state until they arrived at a set of double doors.

The servants opened both doors showing a dressing room. Third Aunt lets go of Sena's hand and nudges her into the room. She turns around to leave tossing the words, "Make her look presentable." Over her shoulder.

Sena was a little flustered losing the only friendly face she's seen in years. Before she could call out to her, the servants closed the door. The servants started to make the little girl presentable.

This was simply trying her hair in a ponytail and changing her outfit to all black. When they were done they lead her to a large hall full of children her age wearing black. She was placed in the very back of this hall and told to listen for her name, then the servants retreated.

A group of people walk In together, some servants set up a low table with a clear, shiny ball placed on a black cushion. A well dressed man walked to the front of the low table and started to explain the rules of what's happening, "When your name is called quickly come here and place your hands on the crystal. Then walk to the left to be assigned a manual and told where to go from there. Head to that area immediately."

Names would be called out, they would touch the crystal and it would glow different colors and one of the servants would call out somethings like fire, water, metal and others. Sena wasn't listening she was waiting for her name to be called.

After many children, she finally got her name called. Sena briskly made her way to the front and touched the crystal. Three colors glowed red, a dark blue and green, however, no announcement followed she went to the left received a book and two key and told to return to her room.

She excitedly went back. When she tried opening the door to the staircase it was locked. She tried one of the keys didn't work. The other one, click. She opened it, before going up the stairs she locked the door. Sena hurried up the stairs and repeated this. Finally in the safety of her room she went to her library and takes a seat, opening up the book.

At the front was a letter

'on every month of the same day come to the hall early in the morning '

She made a mental note of this, continuing to read the book.
