Chapter 44 - Consequences

Silco tried to keep his tone as calm as possible. As he dusted himself, he glanced at the crates of Shimmer potions and the machines on the first floor.

"What would you like to discuss, sir?"

He also noticed more of Vander's people arriving with his surrendered goons.

This was quite interesting of an experiment … the broken arm did not regenerate ... It is normal for his combat effectiveness to be lower than Deka.

If Deka or more of the others were here ... Will it be possible to take him down?

Thoughts flashed in Silco's mind, but he quickly dismissed it.

The opposition is at an obvious advantage, and he has no more Shimmer lackeys on hand to buy time and get away, it is the most correct choice to surrender temporarily.

The batch below will definitely be confiscated, but it will be fine to restart production after some time has passed.

As long as he has one production line, there is a chance to make a comeback. This iron lump can't stay in the undercity forever.

Unfortunately it's a waste of the fine opportunity from the upper city.

Silco is a person of perseverance, after the "Day of Ashes", only he and Vander survived till now...

After the monster was knocked out, the group in the distance ran back and stood by Lilin's side.

"Silco, you bastard!" Benzo was the first, "Where the hell is Vander?! I'm gonna chop you into pieces !"

On the second floor, Silco, who had just walked to the side, had a flash of sullenness on his face, but it was well hidden.

"You're worrying too much Benzo, and Vander simply took a nap... Also, keep your mouth clean."

"Damn you! You're just a bastard who forgets his roots, you don't deserve nothing." Benzo cursed, "Let me see Vander, to make sure that you bastard didn't do anything!"

"you..."

Silco took a deep breath, and clenched his fists to resist the urge to punch Benzo.

He suppressed his anger, and then turned his head to signal the bald man to bring Vander out.

The strong man with bald head and tattoo entered the room and untied Vander's body, then carried him on his shoulders, followed Silco to the first floor, and confronted Vander's subordinates on the other side.

"Vander!"

Among the crowd, Vi, Powder, Claggor and Mylo all exclaimed in unison when they saw Vander on the shoulders of the strong man.

If Benzo hadn't been afraid that Silco would kidnap the four children and taken them hostage, they would have already run to Silco's side.

Silco thought about the idea ...

Lilin controlled the power armor and walked in front of Silco and the others. Facing the hostile eyes, he took Vander from the strong man, walked back, and put him on the ground.

The children's eyes were red, and they quickly gathered around, "Vander..."

Vander opened his cloudy right eye, with a slight surprise on his face, "Vi, Powder, Claggor, Mylo..."

"Vander, do you only see your children? I'm here too!" Benzo couldn't help but heaved a sigh of relief when he saw that Vander was fine, laughed and cursed from the side.

"Yes, and you, old man."

A little smile appeared on Vander's face, and he stood up tremblingly under the support of Benzo and the four children.

When he saw the huge steel armor in front of him, a look of shock appeared on his face.

Although he knew that a machine carried him back just now when his consciousness was hazy, seeing only a part of it is completely different from seeing the entire.

"Miss Kiramann, sir..." Vander nodded to Caitlyn and Jayce, buthis gaze stayed on the power armor for the longest time, "And this... Lilin?"

Lilin was a little surprised, "You can recognize me?"

With a pale face, Vander glanced at the rifle in Caitlyn's hand and Jayce's gleaming energy cannon.

"Just a wild guess... I can still see that you obviously have business in the undecity if you're fully armed today."

Before Lilin or Caitlyn could speak, he continued: "I'll go find someone to help you, but first let me take care of the mess."

Vander focused his gaze on Silco, who had been silent on the other side, and met his indifferent eyes that seemed to be devoid of any emotion.

"Silco..." Vander read in a low voice, with mixed emotions in his tone, which finally turned into a sigh.

He looked back at Benzo, "Let's go home..."

"What!?" Benzo's eyes widened suddenly, his expression was very indignant, "You old bastard, you know this bastard killed more than a dozen of our brothers!"

Vander pressed down Benzo's arm that held the long knife pointing at Silco, and said in a muffled voice, "If it continues, more than a dozen people will die."

Thinking back to the scene where the monster rampaged in his tavern and killed so many people in an instant, he was very angry.

But Vander knows better than to let anger control him.

If Silco wants take people down with him, he can always snatch a few bottles of Shimmer when they smash all of the existing stock.

Then, even if Lilin can defeat them in the end, with the speed of the monster, it won't be a problem to take out a few dozen people before he dies.

Of course, there is a personal factor behind Vander's reluctance to kill Silco.

What happened back then made him feel deeply guilty.

"You've seen the horror of the monster just now, we can't risk our brother's life..." Vander lowered his voice as much as possible, and said in Benzo's ear.

Afterwards, he pointed to the device filled with purple liquid not far away, as well as the crates and crates of Shimmer potions placed beside it.

"Besides, the young lady of Kiramann's family is here, and the law enforcement officers will definitely come by. Dealing with Silco now, it'll give the people in the uppercity a reason to send us to prison."

"Damn it!" Benzo cursed under his breath, staring at Silco with angry eyes, "I'll let you off this time!"

He took a deep breath, helped Vander turn around, and waved to the people behind him, "We're going home!"

"What about you guys?"

Vander looked back at Lilin, Caitlyn and Jayce who were still standing there and seemed to have no intention of leaving.

"We still have something to ask Silco." Lilin explained.

Vander hesitated, not knowing exactly how Silco provoked the Kiramann family.

But he didn't ask, "Ok, once you're done you can come to The Last Drop to find me."

"You must come!" Powder waved her hand and interjected from the side.

"Certainly."

Lilin watched everyone leave and disappeared from sight, then turned to look at Silco again.

"What do you want?" Silco's expression was still indifferent, and so was his voice.

"Did you cause the riot in the upper city?" Caitlyn asked with a serious expression, before Lilin could speak.

Silco and the bald tattooed burly man next to him looked at each other, and then said with a fake smile: "Miss, there is no evidence that we were the ones who cause it, now is there?"

"The riot in the upper city, and you all wanted to seize control of the Lanes at the same time?" Caitlyn frowned, and snorted, "Don't pretending to be stupid."

"That's really a coincidence, miss, we have never been to the upper city, who would have thought that there would be riots in the upper city?"

Silco spread his hands and put on an innocent look.

"When everything happens this coincidentally, it is no longer a coincidence, but a premeditated event."

Caitlyn saw that Silco had no intention of admitting it, so she played her ace, which was also a threat to him.

"Regardless of whether you have anything to do with the incident uptown, I think you should be aware of the consequences of kidnapping a councillor.

"After all, all the clues left by the abducted councillor point to the undercity..."

"Hold on!"

Caitlyn's hadn't finished her sentence yet, but Silco's expression suddenly changed and he interrupted her immediately.

"You said...kidnapping a councillor!?"
