Cyrus finally made it to the summit of the mountain and gently set Sage on her feet. Strangely, the top was shrouded in thick fog, making it difficult to see anything further, indicating that the Statkus mages were indeed on the mountain.
Sage's eyes flashed in their fiery red form, and she returned her gaze to Cyrus, who had a stiff expression on his face and his gaze fixed on the fog ahead of them.
"What makes you believe they want to attack the mages?" Sage inquired, his eyes dimly glowing as he looked down at her.
"To entice you out." Cyrus exhaled and his massive wings lowered. "Come. Let's get out of here; I will look after them myself."
Sage laughed at his remarks. "If you are going to do that, please don't touch me." She then averted her gaze and took a step forward, but Cyrus grabbed her arm and drew her into his embrace.
