The hostile tension made the dinning room's atmosphere heavy and threatening. Sage could feel Cyrus' rage growing with each word he said and each word River said. She didn't know how to calm him down, and when she looked at Ashton with the expectation that he would stop them bickering as they were, she wasn't surprised to see him look extremely amused while eating, as if he were watching an action play.
She sighed, and her gaze met Katherine's, who appeared to be as conflicted as she was.
Of course, she didn't know what to do because, aside from what happened last night, something brutal had occurred between them. Especially given Cyrus' dark state, what could have happened to make River dislike him so much?
