"Your birthday?" Natha had the same surprised expression as mine when I told him later before dinner.
Patting the drowsy boy on my lap, I nodded in reply.
"So...instead of a birthday party, we're going to do that life-threatening process?" he frowned.
Ah...
I looked at the scowl above his eyes; the palpable disapproval across his face. Earlier, I kind of thought it was a present for me, but it was clear that he was thinking otherwise.
Life-threatening, huh...
Technically, he was right. But I had stopped thinking about the dangerous aspect because childbearing was always difficult no matter what. Besides, the Queen still gave birth to several children--including my grandmother--and survived.
"Isn't that why we're looking for the best day?" I smiled while caressing Jade's hair. "So it will be less life-threatening."
