Chapter 64 - Sixty three

His paw stepped over a fallen leaf piercing it into the earth's soil. He stopped evaluating the thick mass of trees that sheltered us from the sun rays in the sky.

There was nothing to be seen but trees standing horizontally and tree birds chirping away happily in their nest above the ground.

I glanced behind us momentarily, even if I knew we had lost them. I wonder if they had somehow followed us without our notice. We had almost fallen into the trap of the human back at the inn. If it had been only me I would have been fooled by silly generosity. The thought of my nativity caused a sort of anguish that I haven't changed much from my past self.

The air shifted, and my hair stood on its ends. I observed Lucien's wolf arched forward as a low rumble erupted in his chest, the others growled along.

Trevor moved closer to Lucien, his claws digging into the dirt ready to attack.
