The next morning,
It was mid-day already and the sun stretched far into the sky scorching our faces with its blazing warmth.
Wiping the sweat off my forehead I threw the last of my luggage into the human vehicle. The trunk almost filled up.
We would have to cross one of the human towns before getting to the central pack. Going in four groups so as not to arouse any suspicion. I hit the back end of the truck to signify I was done. The driver grunted pulling away.
One of the men coming with us, however, he happened to be in a separate group from us, approached me with a small card in his hand. It had my face printed on it but it wasn't my name.
"Fake identities?" I said, collecting it from him. Turning to the back end. Humans were said to use this very often. Everyone got one of these each.
"the alpha said I should hand them out," he said, directing his gaze over to where Lucien stood ordering people to pack up. He looked extra grumpy this morning.
