"Look who we have here; you are one slippery helper," Jewel said, thanking the person she had sent to get her. When they were gone, she turned to Esme, her arms crossed over her chest. She gave her a pointed look.
"You vanished in the middle of a crisis," she said to her sternly. only for her to catch the traces of red marks lining her neck. She paused to access them, but Esme flinched away at her sudden approach. She kept a frightened guard up.
