"I accept," Lara said to him. She inhaled deeply as she awaited the brief ritual.
The hammer thrusts down on the table several times, signaling that the trial has ended and everyone has been dismissed. Lara was escorted away by some of the guards. And Esme couldn't help but follow behind them. Keeping her distance so she wouldn't be seen. Lara had taken an oath, and it was her fault.
