Chapter 176 - So, is this what you've become after your evolution?

"That's it?... Wait, so he just died like that?" Suiryu, on the side of the arena, desperately searching for a secure spot, couldn't help but be taken aback.

Initially, he believed it was all over. He could vividly picture this stadium overflowing with the blood and corpses of innocent people. He lost all hope when he realized he didn't stand a chance against Gouketsu.

However, witnessing the intense battle between Kaiser and the monstrous creature sparked a newfound sense of hope within him.

Watching from the sidelines, Suiryu couldn't help but feel completely powerless. It was a new and frustrating experience for him. He could only watch, anxiously biting his lip. Over time, a sense of jealousy began to consume him. He longed to be in Kaiser's shoes, basking in the limelight and showcasing his skills as the top martial artist.

"Hahaha... These guys, from the wolfman to this man and even that monster, they're on a whole other level. My martial arts skills are nothing compared to them..."

Suiryu eventually had no choice but to surrender, his eyes locked on Kaiser, who hovered in the air thanks to his battle suit.

"Oh, you're still hanging around?... his tough monster is dead. Maybe you could lend a hand to those people?"

Suiryu heard Kaiser addressing him, but he found himself at a loss for words. He simply lacked the motivation to engage in a fight. Despite the piercing screams echoing around him, he found himself inexplicably paralyzed, unable to budge.

"Are you going to give up? Wouldn't you love to become the number one martial artist?"

Suiryu couldn't help but let out a wry laugh. Now that he had heard those words, he couldn't help but realize just how ridiculous that was. However, Kaiser maintained a serious expression as he went on:

"If you're not feeling strong enough, all you gotta do is work on getting stronger."

"Seriously? So you're saying I need to step up my training game?... never mind, with someone like yourself, it feels pointless for me to even attempt to become the top martial artist."

As he uttered those words, Suiryu had to gather his strength. The pain in his heart far surpassed the physical agony he was enduring.

"Perhaps that's true, but I can't tackle this on my own. Right now, these people need your help... If someone with your level of strength gives up, where else can they go for support?"

Suiryu's world, once gradually growing darker, suddenly brightened once more. He had come to realize his weakness and insignificance, just as Kaiser had pointed out. Well, at least he can still lend a hand to these people.

As he lifted his head once more, Kaiser was nowhere to be seen. Undeterred, he focused on the task at hand - meticulously realigning the bones in his body. With unwavering determination, he proceeded to eliminate the remaining monsters in the stadium, one by one.

---***---

"I mean, it's not like I'm super invested or anything, but I can't just let the people in the stadium kick the bucket, right?"

I was up in the air, hovering above the stadium, attempting to catch a glimpse of Suiryu down below. He definitely lived up to my expectations by energetically getting rid of the remaining monsters.

"I mean, seriously... just take a look at this city. It's way worse than I expected."

I'm aware that the monster attacks are occurring in other cities as well, but personally, I think this one is the worst of them all. At the end of the street, I spotted a group of regular folks sprinting away from something.

Even though some of them had to become victims, After witnessing a cyborg with blonde hair stepping in to confront the monster, some of the individuals who had been caught in the chaos appeared to feel a sense of relief.

"A professional hero, huh? And isn't that Genos?… He's putting in a lot of effort, while his master… her has no clue about his whereabouts."

Genos extended his arms, mustering up confidence as he prepared to confront the monster directly. Shortly after, a loud buzzing filled the air as his cyborg arm glowed brightly, resembling heated iron.

There was this massive explosion that just seemed to shoot forward like a fire cannon. The street burst into flames in an instant, but the fire was swiftly put out just as fast. Just take a moment to picture the scorching heat as you gaze upon the cars and iron poles, which seem to effortlessly melt away.

"Whoa, that fire is seriously giving me the chills..."

Out of nowhere, I glanced to my side, and my heart skipped a beat when I saw Mosquito Girl suddenly appear. It was a total surprise! Perhaps I could make the case that I was so fixated on Genos that I didn't pay attention to my surroundings, but let's face it, she was quite unpredictable.

"What's the matter, Kaiser? You want me to take care of him?"

"Hold up... what brings you here?" I'd like to start by asking that question.

"Why?... umm, yeah, I definitely want to hang out with you... you're super awesome, especially when you're in the arena or taking down that spiky monster, you know."

It's likely that the spiky monster she mentioned was Gouketsu. If she knew all of this, it meant she had been there right from the beginning.

Well, the thing is, I totally forgot to put on my battle suit helmet, so Mosquito Girl could easily see the annoyed look on my face. She quickly became frustrated as she rushed to provide a more detailed explanation.

"Hey, so, I've been sitting in the audience this whole time, being a good girl and all. And now, I saw that you might need some help, so I thought I'd come over and offer my assistance."

As I observed Mosquito girl's behavior, it was clear that she was trying to appear innocent and avoid angering her partner. In response, I drew her closer to me until our bodies were in contact.

"So, is this what you've become after your evolution?"

Mosquito Girl gave me a puzzled look, but I wasn't really expecting her to have an answer anyway, so I went on:

"It's totally cool if you want to come and check out what I'm up to, but it would be great if you could give me a heads-up next time, you know?"

My voice suddenly softened, catching her off guard. But it seemed like she grasped the meaning behind my words as Mosquito Girl gently caressed her face on the palm of my hand as if to show her affection.

Mosquito Girl's past was akin to that of a wild animal. However, as she evolved and grew stronger, she also acquired wisdom. She started to remember her former human self.

"Today's going to be a jam-packed day. First things first, I need your help in finding these people."
