Chapter 22 - Near the end

PHILIPS POV

It's been two days since my talk with Henry, and he has not found the car that was following me.

There are rumors of the France deal being a failure and many more I couldn't pinpoint the root of all these problems.

Someone is trying to sabotage my Presidency, and I think the World purity organization must be doing all this, but I cannot be sure.

"Philip are you even listening what I'm saying?"

I snapped back from my thoughts and saw William with a puzzled look.

"Yes sweetheart I'm listening."

"Is there something you aren't telling me?" William asked.

"No I was just thinking about the work yadda yadda."

"I came to your office to have lunch and you're thinking about work?" Said William.

"No I like that you came to have lunch with me." I had to defend myself somehow.

I patted my lap and told William, "sit here I don't like that my sofa has a better view."

William hopped on my lap, always wearing cute things, and I always liked what he wore. I smelled his neck, kissing him above his breast.

"The wedding is getting near Philip and aunt is saying that we should avoid each other from now until the wedding." Said William, playing with my hair.

"You know I cannot do that," burying my face in his bust, "who am I going to thigh fuck if you're not there," mumbling under the heat of his breast.

"Don't be a baby Philip, these are traditions before there were any Alpha's or Omega's," said William hugging my face.

"No I can't you're the only one keeping me sane, do you want me to go insane?" I asked William with all seriousness.

He thought briefly, then replied, "I don't want you to go insane but we will not see each other before the wedding day."

"Ok I can do one day," I said while I nibbled around his breast.

"You're behaving like a child," William said, chuckling.

"Would you take care of this child?" I asked William with a bulge rising from my pants.

William looked away, blushing, but could feel it because he was sitting on it. He was also aroused as I felt his thighs with my cold hands, a slight bulge rising from his skirt.

"Someone will see us Philip," William said, biting his lower lip.

"No one will come sweetheart, now I want my lunch."

And someone knocked on my door. William quickly got off my lap and sat beside me, "come in."

My secretary walked in and said, "I'm sorry to disturb sir but you need to get ready for your meeting with the Project X manager and team."

"Oh shit that was today?" I completely forgot about it.

"Philip you should go the meeting I need to get going Mariam is waiting for me at the home."

I kissed William goodbye, and he left. I got up and went with my secretary to the meeting.

WILLIAMS POV

That is why I don't like doing these things in public places. Anyone can walk up to you in the most compromising situation, which cannot be very comfortable.

I got in the car and told the driver to take me home. Philip was not as attentive today as he usually is. Is something bothering him? The wedding is approaching quickly, and I also need to make an appointment with the doctor to have my checkup before the wedding.

I visited Elly almost daily and she still hasn't awakened from the coma. Her parents must be distressed to see their only child like that.

Lucky for Philip's connection helped their case move forward into the trial.

My destination arrived, and I got out of the car. I took a moment to look around and my apartment compound where I spent my childhood. Almost everyone I knew moved out, and now I only see new faces around here.

Nobody talks to anyone; they always keep to themselves, not that I don't like it. I miss the old times when people who lived here were a part of the community.

I walked to my apartment, opened the door, and heard some noises coming from the lounge, 'are we having people over' I thought.

When I arrived in the lounge, I sighed and was happy to see who was talking.

"Hello everyone." I said.

"WILLIAM!" My cousins, uncle, and aunt said in unison.

My cousins leaped on me for a hug. I barely managed to keep my balance.

"Let him sit down first." Said, my uncle.

I took a breath and sat down; everybody was sitting in a circle like a family sits when they get together.

"When did you come uncle?"

"Your aunt called me and said that the wedding is approaching and we should all come." My uncle said.

"Good we'll have some fun before the wedding," I said.

I have 6 cousins, 2. Of them are teenagers, both are beta, and the remaining 4 haven't been determined as they are too young for the test.

"Where's your fiance?" My uncle said.

"Oh he had a meeting to attend." I said.

"He is running an empire, if he's not busy than who is?" My uncle said jokingly, "everything aside I'd like to meet him before the meeting."

"Yeah sure I'll talk to him about it." I said.

"On a serious did you tell him about your parents?" My uncle said.

I was silent momentarily because I didn't even buy up this subject with Philip.

"I haven't." I replied.

"You should son, it's better to tell him now." My uncle said with a serious look on his face.

He was lovely; he wasn't an Alpha or Omega but a Beta who worked, married, and cared for his children.

I always wished that my Father would be more like him, sweet and caring.

"Ok everyone lunch is ready." My aunt yelled from the kitchen.

"Let's go and eat." My uncle said as he patted my back.

We all got up and settled down at the dining table to eat.

It was nice to have family for dinner, there's something about eating together that you can't put a pin on it like it's almost rewarding I think the famous quote might be true "The more the merrier."

...

IN HARALD'S FAMILY HOME

Alphonso was smoking a cigar on a dining table as he sipped his coffee mug.

"I saw the smoke and don't even try to pretend you weren't smoking." Sarah said while standing behind Alphonso.

Alphonso's heart skipped a beat, and they said, "Jesus Christ you gave me a heart attack."

"I won't give you the heart attack," she took the cigar out of his hand, "this will give you a heart attack."

Sarah put the cigar on the ashtray to stop its smoke.

"Your brother smokes too." Alphonso told Sarah in his defense.

"He has a fiance, that is his duty to keep my brother in check but you're my Father and it's my duty to keep you in check. It already worst that Alex isn't even acknowledging you illness he isn't even here." Sarah told Alphonso with a sad face.

"You don't have to be burden by this sweet heart, your father can still fight a bear for you." Alphonso said.

He hugged his daughter, kissing her forehead. In her Father's warm embrace, Sarah started crying, no matter how much peace she had made with her Father's illness. He was still her Father, and losing your Father like that is never easy.

IN THE UNIVERSITY

Alex was taking his class, his complete focus on the lecture.

"Hey dude, are we still on for today?" His friend asked him.

"Yeah yeah don't worry." Alex said his focus was still on the lecture.

After taking all the classes, he entered his apartment and changed his clothes.

He arrived at a bar where his friends were sitting. He sat down with his friends, who cheered when he came.

Alex called the waiter and told him, "bring shots for everyone and start a tab."

The music was loud; the bar was packed he drank the Alcohol carelessly.

He wasn't acting normal, the waiter kept giving him and his friends shots, and he kept drinking.

The night went on, and Alex's friend helped him get to his apartment. He was blacked out and was unconscious.

They opened his door and left him on the floor. Alex stayed there, unconscious of his surrounding.

He woke up the following day without remembering what had happened last night. He crawled to his bathroom and opened the shower, sitting in with his clothes on.

Tear falling from his eyes couldn't be seen as the water fell from the shower. He finally screamed, bashing his hand on a tile floor, injuring himself.

He cried because no matter how much he drank, the reality of his Father dying didn't change.

No matter how much he blacked out, he still woke up with the memory that his Father won't be in this world for him.
