Chapter 70 - Unknown World

Tristan felt himself fall and he couldn't help but scream, bam! the sound of flesh hitting the stone echoed out.

"Ughh, where am I?"

Crackle! Crackle! snap!

To Tristan's horror he felt a huge pressure pressing down on him, his bones snapped and the air from his lungs being forced out.

"Gravity!"

His body was being pressed into the earth by a terrifying force, the pain was unbearable.

He was on the cusp of losing consciousness but in this desperate situation he thought about the techniques in that book.

He first thought of the movement techniques but he scrapped those because what was important at the moment was air.

He couldn't breath he couldn't move but it mattered not if he couldn't move but what mattered was if he could breathe.

So with great difficulty he sucked in a bit of air but as if he was inhaling meth, he began to see rainbows and leprechauns.

But despite the visions he felt like throwing up, the breath of air he had managed to suck in was expelled. He lay there on his back nauseous and hallucinating.

He stayed like that for a while. It was when he was about to suffocate did he snap out of it.

He took in another breath and saw all sorts of pretty colours, this feeling . . . It was like taking a big mouthful of water.

But despite the heaviness and discomfort he locked in and exhaled, he then took in another breath but his lungs felt as if it was about to explode and that feeling of nausea kept increasing.

This went on until he got a rhythm or the pattern to it.

After establishing the rhythm, he began to focus which was difficult when you were hearing and seeing things.

Within an hour's worth of time he began to sweat blood due to the strain but he could breathe, now that he could breathe it was time to move.

He tried raising his hand which snapped, he groaned, the idiot then tried to move his entire body but in that very instance his bones shattered.

He fell unconscious only the rhythmic breathing stated that he was alive he woke up and with a sudden jolt he broke his neck and went out cold.

The next moment he woke up he remained still while maintaining a steady breath, to be human was to be blessed with many senses.

Each one serving a different purpose it was a vague feeling but he felt the gravity increasing in small increments.

The muscles in his legs twitched and he moved his arm involuntarily and he broke his arm again.

He passed out again and the cycle of breaking and passing out repeated, a long while later he came to his senses.

The prickling sensation of his skin, the sharp pinches in his muscles and the rubbing of his bones were all too clear.

This was reality, every sensation was true, the only thing Tristan could do was control his breath and follow the rhythm.

His mind senses heightened and his heart started beating faster and faster, without knowing it his chest began to glow with a faint light.

Not because of some supernatural shit but because the blood in his body was excited to the point of burning.

The oxygen content in the air was so high it could poison any living thing.

But with Tristan's strange breathing technique it seemed to neutralize the harmful effects.

Tristan's body and mind was in extreme alert mode every cell moved just to keep him alive.

An unknown time later Tristan moved his arm and felt a sharp pain but this time it didn't snap like before.

So despite the pain he managed to roll onto his belly with gritted teeth he began to crawl forward.

Looking around he saw nothing, the space was dark so he just crawled towards a direction.

After sometime his hand hit a wall causing him to hiss and pull back due to the pain.

He sucked on his fingers for a while before then with some difficulty he sat up and leaned against the wall.

But to his dismay he couldn't lift his head due to the strain but after a while he lifted his head with some difficulty.

A sudden jolt and he lowered his head, "did I sprain my neck, I don't think that's possible."

While mumbling to himself Tristan began to inspect his surroundings, while his head was lowered.

Strangely enough there was a dim glow but only god knew where it came from. As he looked around he noticed that this seemed to be sort of an unknown cave.

With the slight illumination of the surroundings he noticed something strange there was a body of water in front.

In this dark body of their water faint spots of lights could be seen.

It could be said that this was the source of illumination in the cave but the strange thing was that sweet smell.

His eyes suddenly caught something in the body of water. It seemed to be some form of strange plant, it's dark grey stem stuck out the water then bent at the mid section forming a hook.

At the end of the stem was a dark pink stub that dripped with a sticky liquid.

Tristan observed for sometime and came to the conclusion that these were some form of carnivorous plant life.

The sweet smell was there to lure prey, he sighed with appreciation, then with difficulty he got up and Tristan started walking away.

As he moved he felt as if he was in a swamp. The air was cold, heavy and so thick that it felt like he was breathing in water, the intense pressure caused his frame to rattle.

The more he moved the more he adapted to the pressure and soon he saw a light in the distance.

With unsteady steps he moved forward, the light blinding, he covered his face and walked outside.

As his eyes adjusted and he moved his hand he was greeted by a breathtaking view.

He stood at a cliff side of a mountain and when looking out one could see a lush and verdant forest below, a dark shade wrapped the thicket exaggerating the contours of the trees.

Rivers of varying sizes meandered throughout this ancient forest which gave this world an ancient beauty.

But what caught the eyes wasn't the forest below but if one focused they could see a faint shadow of something truly massive in the distance.

"Is that a tree?"

Tristan couldn't believe his eyes and as if confirming his speculation the clouds dispersed and all the tree's glory could be seen.

A massive ancient tree towering between heaven and earth could be seen, chaotic mist and clouds surrounded the base of its chunk and above, that was a mystery for darkness lingered.

Flashes of light could be seen and the dark clouds gathered and it began to rain, but the rain fell upwards and not down which brought Tristan a great deal of confusion.

Groooooooo!

Suddenly a low echoed across the which brought a sense of foreboding another low hum could be heard.

From the darkness above, a whale of an unimaginable proportion swam down the trunk of the tree.

But its size was insignificant compared to the tree, and as the whale came down the clouds gathered world was covered by dark clouds

The clouds gathered overhead, thunder rumbled and the earth shook, Tristan's ears bled and he leaned forward.

Suddenly a strong gust came from behind, and he was thrown off the cliff, the pressure on his body was far too great.

His flesh cracked and his blood vessels ruptured, Tristan gritted his teeth, he slammed into the side of the mountain and bounced up like a ball.

He spat out blood and before he could recover he slammed into the cliff side again, the right side of his body went numb.

His brain tried to register information but he slammed into the earth again and which caused his brain to short circuit.

He slid down the mountain side and rolled a few times but despite the pain and confusion he reached out and grabbed the ground.

The speed of his fall was halved but his hand was sacrificed, a cry of pain and confusion sounded out.

He regained sensation on his right and with a desperate move he moved above his head.

His left leg hit a stone causing it to snap in half ahhhhhh! his body spun.

Bam!

He slammed into the ground and let out a groan of pain, the rain began to fall.

Splash splash.

Tristan looked to his right and saw a raindrop the size of your fellow obese American slam into the ground.

The cold rain water washed him removing the blood stains from his body at this very instance he got goosebumps on his back.

Looking up he saw a massive water drop heading towards him, the pain seemed to have disappeared and he stood on his only good leg and started halling cheeks.

His left leg flapped about causing immense pain.

Suddenly he flung himself in a certain direction, a massive water droplet slammed into the ground.

Tristan felt a cool sensation on his back and slid forward, he got up again and halled cheeks.

He looked to the right and saw a hole. It was all or nothing so with a dangling leg he jumped into the hole.
