I took her to the park where her favorite swan lake was. I had made all the arrangements beforehand to surprise her. I had made a tent with white cloth and added white lights. It looked beautiful in the middle of the park and the lights were glittering so bright because of night time. I had kept a projector, a screen so that we could see movies, some scented candles nearby for relaxation and two blankets just in case she feels cold.. I hope she likes everything. I had done everything that came up in my mind to create a beautiful ambience. I just wanted our first date to be memorable. I bought some movies which I think she will like.
I opened her eyes and stood beside her just to see her reaction. I could see a shine in her eyes.
"Do you like it?" I asked with hope.
"I love it, Han. Thank you."
She laughed and threw her arms around my neck and hugged me tightly. This surprised me. The efforts I had put in for this date is not enough. I wish I could do more and make her happy. Later, I will take her on many dates and make her happy. She deserves all the happiness in the world. This is the best moment of this day.
"So what do you want to watch? Romance or action?" I asked.
"Romance", she replied without even taking a second.
I showed her my laptop and told her to choose from the movies I had kept in a file.
"Choose whatever you want to watch"
"Let's watch 'A walk to Remember'. I love this one"
"Okay, let's see that"
I took my laptop and played that one. But, before that I had to get some things from the car.
"Han, where are you going?"
"Just wait a minute and don't start without me". She nodded yes.
I ran towards the car and bought a thermos filled with coffee, a jar of marshmallows, choco chip cookies and two cups. I hope she likes them. I ran back to her. She looked at my hands filled with stuff and kept them on the ground.
"What are these? You planned so many things. Thank you so much. This is just perfect." She kissed me on my cheek.
We made coffee together. I noticed she likes to have three marshmallows in her coffee. She took a sip and sighed "hmm, perfect". I smiled looking at her like a fool. She looked like an angel, my angel, in the lights. So beautiful.
She sat beside me and kept her head on my shoulder. I wrapped us in the blanket. I love this warm feeling. Sometimes we held hands and sometimes we would take a sip from the coffee.
I don't know what was exactly going on in the movie and I don't even care. I was just looking at her, her expressions turning from happy to sad and worried. At the end of the movie, her eyes became teary.
"Hey baby, what happened?" I held her face in my palms with concern.
"Nothing, it's just, I get very emotional when I see this movie. I love this movie"
She looked so cute while snorting in between her little sobs. Her cute little nose has turned red because of the cold and crying.
"Don't worry." I whipped her tears and hugged her tightly in my arms.
She kept her head and hugged me back tightly. I closed my eyes, trying to engrave this moment in my memory forever, soaking all the warmth I could. Her petite body fit perfectly inside my arms.
"Why do you love this movie? The girl dies at the end." I asked her
"She dies, of course but she lives forever in his heart and in his memory. He was her miracle, the love she never expected. She changed his life. She was happy at the end. She got to love someone and true love is the greatest gift of life. Even if they didn't get to live the rest of their life, they were happy. So that shows a happy ending."
I looked at her mesmerizingly. She could understand these complex emotions so easily and can even explain this.
"Han, listen, true love is rare and finding someone who loves you just the way you love him or her is really a miracle", she said while looking in my eyes.
I wanted to kiss her at that time butI haven't asked her and she hasn't replied to me yet and I think I should wait for her answer. I wanted her to tell me how she feels on her own.
We got up and I had to drop her at home. I don't want her to get late.
"Jas, if you want we can have many movie dates like this later.", I put a strand of her hair behind her ear.
"Okay sure, but you don't have to do all this next time. Really this set, the ambience you had created was just perfect. How did you know I would like these lavender scented candles?"
"Just a guess. I thought you would like lavender more than rose."
"So, are you going to drop me off or you have planned more surprises.", she laughed. "But, seriously, this is just perfect for a first date. I have never been on a date before and this was more than I had expected", she added.
It's time to step forward and confess my feelings which I wanted to for ages now. It may not be ages but it feels like that now.
"Actually, I wanted to tell you something. Just listen and you don't have to reply right away and it doesn't mean you can't."
