Chapter 1

Birthday Party

.

.

.

They called me princess of Rowena. I was born as a white hair aristocrat which puts me in the highest caste.  Rowena is an island nation full of magic. The residents are magicians.

In this world called Feros it was different from earth. Every human being has strength. At the age of seventeen, power will manifest itself. In addition, Feros is a parallel world that arose because of the dreams of human children who living on earth. In other words, I am both real and unreal.

Feros which was divided into fifteen countries and seven thousand islands, then fifteen kings, and seven thousand chieftains. Rowena, where I was born became the number one country in Feros. Wou could say I come from the highest caste.

The white hair clan is known for their intelligence and also their magicians.  That's why the white hair clan became the most respected by the entire country. King Albert of Rowena and queen Malia were the rulers of the kingdom of Rowena. They are both leaders who are most loved by the people.

"Princess Mary."

Felix, aka the royal advisor and the King's personal secretary, came to me with a piece of paper containing the speech that I would read at the banquet later.

"The king asked me to deliver this speech to you, your highness. I hope you're ready for tonight."

"Yes. Of course. Thank you."

Felix left after handing me the paper.

Tonight there will be a big banquet to celebrate my seventeenth birthday. The whole palace was busy decorating the palace with vines and red roses to welcome the guests later. This grand banquet would go down in the history of Feros, as the next leader of the white hair clan would gain its power.

Preparing for the banquet tonight, a blue dress fitted with blue flower ornaments was displayed in my room.  The maids helped me prepare for the banquet later. My white hair that became the hallmark of a Rowena was tied up and decorated to match the color of my eyes, blue.

Looks like blue will be my hallmark color as crown princess Rowena.

Outside the palace, the gate was already wide open. I saw the kings and queens from neighbore countries starting to arrive with their luxurious horse-drawn carriages. Haaa- I sighed. It's only a matter of hours and soon I'll be standing in front of them all to make a speech.

It was annoying to speak in front of a crowd that I didn't know at all, why weren't the Rowena residents whose the guest? If I asked Felix that he would immediately mention the Feros law.  Where every kingdom must invite each other as a form of their respect.

Rowena's national anthem was played as the king and queen Rowena entered the ballroom where the guests had already gathered. I followed them from behind. Everyone's eyes fell on the three of us. It seems that my arrival was the one who stole the most attention, I could guess from the whispers that they were doing all the way.

Blue dress and blue hair tie, then glass shoes that looks like Cinderella wears, maybe to them I look like a big ocean. Ohh don't forget to greet them all with a sweet smile, I greet them all one by one while whispering some words that welcome their arrival.

When the party starts, a dance song is played. The guests started dancing and even my parents danced. While I sat in the crowd of princes and princesses who also came. No one to talk to me or just say hello to me. Arghh, this is what I don't like the most when I gather with other kingdoms. Their arrogance is what I hate the most.

I saw Felix from the distance who was also looking at me, with a pitiful look at him I hoped Felix would take me somewhere far from the crowd in the ballroom. But instead do that, he smiled broadly while nodding, as if from his smile he was saying, you can do it, Your highness, cheer up.

Seconds become minutes and minutes become hours. Only three minutes left, the big clock would strike twelve, indicating it was twelve o'clock at night.  I stood on my throne chair which was next to my father and mother's throne.  The waiters brought my birthday cake which was tiered and decorated with lots of strawberries.

The seventeen-shaped candle had already been lit. The guests started singing the birthday song in a seriosa style. My eyes swept across the ballroom, somehow I felt alive. It was as if the wind had blown me.

People say, coincide with the changing of the day then our strength will emerge. The palace clock has chimed and I have blown out my birthday candle. But nothing happened. There wasn't anything shimmering out like in people's stories, there were only rumblings and lightning strikes outside.

Everyone started to panic, suddenly the lights in the palace went out completely and accompanied by a big roar.  Suddenly everyone gasped in surprise and pointed at me. I was confused and ran to my father and hugged him. Afraid. What's wrong?

From the darkness I could see my father's shocked face. His eyes widened and his jaw dropped down. He gripped my arm so tightly I was in pain
