Chereads / Nagi's Omega / Chapter 6 - Fever

Chapter 6 - Fever

Nagi didn't know how many weeks had passed, she accidentally routinely found the Omega. Just checking to see that everything is fine now and then because Omega usually never escapes the trouble-filled life that comes here and there.

Showing himself in front of Sean wasn't part of Nagi's plan, he felt that his job was just to watch and get him okay. The promise seemed to cast a shadow over Nagi continuously until he ended up here now in a narrow alley amid the dense activity of the surrounding city.

Nagi didn't want to get used to this, of course. If it hadn't been for his brother asking, Nagi would not be possible to do it.

Nagi felt that he had suddenly lost focus, only to blink occasionally at his eyes which had been hot since just now. He was now blinking a little slower than usual and then found the woman staring straight at Nagi with her green eyes.

It was usually anger that appeared there, but the woman was already heading toward his. Nagi barely held his breath, he was too tired for this nonsense.

However, when she approached and opened his mouth, clearly planning to tell all the colorful details exactly where Nagi could go, the expression of anger on her face was suddenly blurred, and no sound came from his mouth.

Instead of being the futile cruel scolding Nagi usually receives from Sean lately, Sean suddenly reaches out to Nagi and it's so unexpected that he doesn't even have time to react.

This was the first time they faced off like this between the occasions of Nagi being caught watching him, the woman reached Nagi's head at eye level, and it didn't cause him any trouble. Unlike other Omegas who almost all have small bodies that look weak, this doesn't change Sean's understanding of all the properties of Omegas that will end up just like any other. Nagi couldn't react quickly to avoid the touch of Sean's hand that had now been on her forehead.

Under the warmth of the rough palm, Nagi froze. If it were someone else, he would twist and break her arm before that person touched him.

However, Sean is no one else.

Brian asked to keep this woman which meant breaking bones was not the right choice for him.

"You have a fever." The woman frowned, looking intently somewhere behind Nagi's ear and Nagi briefly gritted her teeth because of this.

"And what do you think you're doing right now?" asked Nagi flatly, his eyes blurring uncharacteristically, the same as his throat becoming dry and heating up.

Sean in the end looked straight into his eyes. Then she looked at her own hands. She immediately pulled her back as if scalded and moved back a few steps as consciousness lit up in her green.

Her face was weird mixed with anger, irritated and awkward, but her eyebrows as usual were still frowning to the bridge of her nose. When she started talking, something like stubbornness appeared in her voice. "You should go home, not wander around here stalking someone."

"I think I can decide what I need by myself." Nagi interrupted her before the woman was about to say back and would leave here soon, he had missed a lot of his work. However, it was only a few steps that Nagi took when he was at an overly sharp turn, his head suddenly became cloudy and the world around his began to tilt sideways.

It took a while for Nagi to realize that he was the one leaning to the side.

By the time Nagi managed to regain his balance, Sean was again already in front of him. She peered at Nagi's face with an expression where the anxiety was now obvious, but she didn't try to get close and help.

Maybe the woman still has the instinct to defend herself.

"If you go on like this, you'll faint somewhere and bang your head," said Sean Nagi wasn't sure of the worry in her eyes.

"Shouldn't you be pleased with the prospect of a bruised head?" Nagi asked with some curiosity, not quite understanding what was happening just now because of his felt spinning head, why Sean was still here.

Not understanding what exactly prompted them to stay here or even why Nagi bothered to watch her way into a narrow alley.

According to the plan Nagi used to know, Sean should hate him especially if Sean knew what Nagi's family had done to her father and the hatred somehow did not match the worry in her eyes. Maybe Nagi had a fever, which prevented her from doing those things.

This is not important.

Sean in turn in response suddenly frowned harder and something similar to a distraction settled in the line of his twisted lips.

"I'm not a whiner," she hissed angrily and then suddenly looked away after hesitating for a second, then added calmer, on the verge of Hearing Nagi. "And you are his brother."

Ah, so here's the thing. Well, the answer was exactly as expected and Nagi blamed his fever for not immediately understanding the whims Sean had made around his this time.

'His brother.'

Stayed that way even after Nagi told her to stay away from Brian.

The words somehow vaguely affected Brian, hitting a nameless place with such strength that if he had a slightly worse endurance, he would shudder. In practice, he only felt how his biceps muscles were a little tighter and it seemed that it was enough to make him start staggering again.

Sean suddenly grabbed Nagi's elbow, helping his stand up straighter, an extremely strong grip startled Nagi. Her gaze became more serious, somehow even tighter, when the woman said, "I live nearby. Although you probably already know it."

Sean's last sentence made the woman grumble at him, but then she continued in the same serious tone, in which poisonous mockery slipped through her every word. "Not a mansion, of course. But you can lie down, then leave when you don't feel like you're going to die anymore."

What nonsense is this? Of course, Nagi had to refuse.

Nearby stepping a little around the corner is his car, which will drive Nagi to a comfortable apartment with all possible facilities in the shortest possible time. The apartment where he was going to take some anti-fever pills, only to be immediately buried again under a lot of work and sleep if he remembered doing so.

However, it is the whole life and routine carried out by Nagi. Usual. Routine. He didn't know the others, but he would probably know what kind of place the woman lived and there was not a single reason to accept this completely meaningless offer.

None.

Once again the belated realization Nagi made to react that he was now obediently following Sean to come when they were a few yards toward a house that had been blurred in his vision.

What the fuck is this?
