Hazel's POV
Today was the day I was going to resign officially from my job,I had taken a two weeks leave because of everything that was going down in my life and since I was one of the most valuable workers,I was granted my request easily, I dressed in really dark clothes and sun shades,the paps were literally everywhere,I had to stay in all day,it sucked.
Well it's not everyday you get to be Mrs Blackwood.
I went downstairs not even bothering to spare a look in the mirror,I was ready to head out only to be stoped by a man in a black suit,I stared at his stoic face a bit confused since he didn't look familiar at all.
"Um who are you?" I asked,tilting my head to look up since he was freaking tall.
"Mr Blackwood has assigned me to be your bodyguard Ma'am"
"Mm yeah,I think there has been a little bit of misunderstanding,we never discussed this whole issue and I most certainly do not need a body guard to babysit me" Just when I think I can't get more infuriated with Xavier,he goes the extra mile to prove just how much of douche he can be,I whipped out my phone to question and curse out at him,but it went straight to voice mail,I muttered a string of colourful words and strode out with the bodyguard hot on my trail.
"What's your name anyways?" I asked,we were few minutes away from my destination.
"Devon Fane,ma'am" I rolled my eyes.
"Just call me Hazel"
He shook his head in negation" I don't think that's appropriate Ma'am"
I just shrugged it off,normally I'd argue but I wasn't in the mood for this,for anything at all,I just wanted to run away from all of this and wake up to find out that it was all a bad dream.
"We have arrived at your destination"
I muttered a quick 'thanks' and asked him to wait outside,he didn't really look pleased with the idea but he did as I told him to,I stepped inside and took off my glasses,some of the workers had spotted me already,I could see the look of astonishments on their faces as I made my way to the manager's office,we didn't waste any time in settling everything,he was a lot better than the last manager who was nothing but a pathetic thief and pervert. Everything was going so well,too well until Bethany came into view,just as I was about to leave,she hounded me in a corner with her minions.
"I can't believe how much I underestimated you,you looked so pathetic and weak,but you are a two timing bitch" she snarled at me with a scowl on her face,her minions wore the same looks on their faces,it was giving high school bullying bitches,I rolled my eyes, this was so immature.
"Yeah okay,can you move out of my way? I'm trying to leave incase you haven't noticed." I said calmly wanting nothing to do with their drama.
"You are not going anywhere,you must answer my questions" she growled.
"This is America and i am not obligated to answer any question of yours" she looked furious while I looked at them with annoyance,I mean I know they were dumb, but was this really necessary? And all for what? I sighed and put on my sunglasses,knowing fully well that this was going to turn into a scene.
"What did you do to make him notice you,how did you make Xavier Blackwood marry you? You are not even pretty,you have absolutely nothing compared to me" She yelled,not even taking into consideration the amount of customers in the store,speaking of customers,a few of them were already looking out way with curious glances.
Yep,Just as I suspected,she was a crazy psycho.
"Well my ass is real,how about that? " she glared at me and I glared back.
"You whored your way through,I'm sure,but don't worry he's going to get tired of you soon and throw you to the streets where you belong" she said with a smug look on her face,by now everyone's attention was on us.
"You see Bethany,whoring is your thing and everyone knows it,if I am a whore then you might as well be a road side prostitute,do you want me to do the honors of telling everyone what you and the last manager were up to? Or would you do it yourself? Oh look the new manager's here,don't you think this would be a damn good time?" I threatened,she looked taken aback for a second,a little bit of shock and hate evident on her face "you don't want me to right? Now get out of my way if you want to keep your job" she stepped aside still glaring at me,I smiled smugly,making my way out I stopped beside her.
" Oh and next time,try to mind your goddamn business" I whispered.
And with that,I walked out of the building to the car where Devon was waiting for me,as we drove away,I wondered quietly to myself,if people thought I whored my way into the marriage,what would they think if the truth eventually came out,I sighed tirelessly and looked out the window,thinking of how my life had come to this,all the drama I had faced.
And this was only the beginning.
