Hazel's POV
The silence in the car was almost suffocating and the tension so thick that a knife could cut through,I played with my fingers bored and decided to let my mind wander away from this fine man and his Stony gaze on the road,but alas it wasn't working,I felt like pulling my hair out,being next to him was so infuriating,I mean how can you literally sit next to someone In a closed space without uttering a single word and pretending like they aren't even there,I so close to losing it,few minutes later,we pulled up at a very nice looking house,big too,it was a bit different from Xavier's,it looked more colourful,roses, tulips and white lilies lined up the sides of the house giving it an amazing view.
Wow.
We got down from the car and Xavier's family were already at the door smiling at us,well only a woman I assumed was his mum and a cute little boy standing beside her, a girl who looked like she just walked out of a Vogue magazine stood beside them with her with her straight black long hair and piecing blue eyes which held distaste and matched the scowl on her face,his father was no where in sight.
He put his arm on my waist and brought me so close to him that I could feel his warmth and smell his cologne,it smelled of riches too,I tried not to squirm and put a fake smile on my face trying to act natural as we approached them.
"Xavier darling,it's so good to see you,you almost never come by"his mum paused and turned to look at me ,her smile broadening"oh my word,you didn't tell me she was this pretty, excellent choice,"I felt warmth in my chest as she said those words to me,those were the nicest thing anyone had ever said to me in a really long time.
"I'm Lorraine Blackwood"
"Hello Mrs Blackwood,it's an honour to finally meet you"I stretched out my arm for a handshake,but she engulfed me into a loving embrace.
"Please call me Lorraine" she said hugging me tighter.
"Mum that's enough"Xavier looked fraustrated as he told his mum off but she just laughed it off.
"Hazel,this is Max"she pointed to the little boy who gave me a shy smile "and this is Hailey"she pointed to the gorgeous girl with a scowl.
"Hi,nice to meet you,I'm Hazel" I gave my best smile
"Ugh whatever,spare me the torture,this has gone on for too long and I don't want to be here,I'll be inside"Hailey spoke up and gave me a death glare"Away from filth"with that she catwalked away like she was on a runway,while I recited the Lord's prayer to stop me from hurling her into the sea of roses with sharp looking thorns.
"Please ignore her rash behavior,I apologise,do come inside"his mum said as she led the way,Max ran towards me and gave me a single rose which I accepted with a kind smile,he looked like he was nice or ten.
"You are pretty"and with that he ran off,he was so cute and quite the Gentleman unlike someone I knew,I almost forgot Xavier's was by my side until he retracted his hand from my waist.
"Your sister is quite mean, thought it runs in the family,but turns out there are still sweet souls among you"Xavier turned and faced me,he seemed really annoyed.
"Watch that tongue of yours and behave yourself,don't ruin this for me and make it harder than it already is"he seethed and walked away,I fumed and eyed his structure as he went inside.
If he wanted perfection from me in every way,I was going to make sure I gave him exactly just that.

Clangs and sounds of cutlery was all over the table as we all ate in silence, Lorraine had insisted that we stayed for lunch,it was tolerable until Xavier's father joined us,I could tell that there was tension between Xavier and his father because they barely acknowledged theirselves,I had already made it through the main course until Xavier's father decided to speak,the look on his face already told me that he didn't want me to be with his son.
"What business does your family do miss Martinez"his eyes focused on me like a hawk as I shifted in my sit tensed.
"None sir,I'm an Orphan,I've been fending for myself"I answered earning a look of sympathy from Lorraine.
"Do you have any shares in any company,any investments,how exactly do you fend for yourself?"I was about to answer when Xavier cut in.
"Stop it father,you are making her feel uncomfortable"he glared at him
"No son,I'm doing you a favour,I want a supportive partner for you not one who needs pity votes,we do not hand out charity here"he spoke with so much venom in his words and they actually hurt.
"I think Dad is right"Hailey spoke with a glare directed at me.
"Stop this instant Hailey"Lorraine said with a sharp tone but she continued
"he has to know what kind of woman you are going to marry,can't have a gold digging bitch sticking around"she finished with a smirk, Lorraine looked at me apologetically while I bit my tongue to stop myself from retorting.
"Enough!"Xavier roared.
"I will marry her with or without your approval and I will not tolerate any form of disrespect from anyone,not even you Father"his father frowned and looked at me disapprovingly and left the table,things would have gotten more weirder and awkward but two people barged inside,one was a Man who was equally as good looking as Xavier with his blonde hair and green eyes which contrasted with Xavier's jet black hair and blue eyes,the other was a brunnet woman with mischievous looking brown eyes.
"Sorry we are late,we got caught up with a few things"the man said looking towards the woman who elbowed his side and smiled sheepishly,he turned to me and smiled oblivious of the tensed atmosphere.
"Hi,I'm Jace" he said as his eyes lit up.
"And I'm Cassandra and please in the name of Earth,Mars and all the entire milkshake way galaxy,call me Cass"she said giving me a suprisingly friendly hug,I smiled back glad for a bit of comfort and a break from all the drama that had just happened.
"Nice to meet you I'm - "
"Hazel,I know and we've been dying to meet you"she spun around and faced Xavier with a dramatic flair"why didn't you tell us that she was this beautiful?"
"Yeah man,you have a lot of explaining to do"Jace sighed loudly making Xavier glare at him.
"Jace and Cass,it's so nice of you to join us,welcome"Lorraine smiled at them as they exchanged pleasantries"I'll leave you all to catch up,I'll check on Max in his room"they both chorosed a 'sure' as she left.
"Tell us how you met"Cass grabbed a seat and turned to me expectantly.
"We met at a Cafe and we dated for three months,nothing special"Xavier said with a warning glare but Cass was Oblivious of it and she rolled her eyes at him.
"She wasn't asking you dude,she was talking to Hazel,we want to hear her side of the story,yours is boring"Jace snickered earning a glare from Xavier.
"I'm not going to be here for all these bullshit"Hailey stood up and turned to go.
"Oh didn't see you there Hailey"Cass looked at her with distaste and I could tell that they didn't like each other.
Was she seriously a bitch to everyone?
She walked away muttering something like 'stupid bitch' with an air of arrogance and an attitude.
"Don't forget your pom poms"Cass hollered as we burst into fits of laughter,l definitely liked her.
"Let's hear the story now"Cass nodded eagerly,Jace also looked at me with interest,Xavier shot me a warning look which I totally ignored.
"Alright everyone,story time" I smirked.
This was going to be fun.
