Basileus went to the castle and was pleased to see that Khion's men had returned to wherever they had come from.
Since it was clear their communication devices still worked, they had likely heard the news that Khion had gone down and their mission had been a massive failure. There would be no reason for a bunch of rebels forced together for the common cause and promise of a fortune to stick around if it wasn't going as expected.
Basileus made his way to the higher reaches of the castle, having to go up the stairs since it seemed the elevator had been knocked out of commission at one point.
It was disappointing to see that much of the castle had been looted or destroyed but with the change of emperor soon, perhaps it was time for a good change. He and Varya could fix it up together and make it their own.
