agree, but if she knew what "tragedy" had struck Splinter, she would probably be in tears.
"When we mutated, he hid us away and raised us in secret," Donnie explained. "We eventually started calling him 'Splinter' instead of referring to him by his human name."
"But why?" Amy asked. Donnie shrugged.
"He always warned us about humans… how dangerous they could be, how evil, how smelly… I assume that after he saw mutants from a mutant's perspective, he started seeing the humans in a whole new light."
Amy looked lost in thought for a moment before speaking.
"That explains a lot… not just about Mei, but about you," she finally said. Donnie's eyes widened.
"Well, I suppose with the way I react to meeting new people…" he admitted. Amy cracked a smile.
"You seem to understand… maybe you could get through to her?" she asked hopefully. Donnie shrugged again.
"I'll try."
