"Haaaa... You should be careful next time, Oppa~"
"I'm sorry..."
Due to his training at the 'camp', it wasn't a difficult task for Ijin to catch up to Dayun. Unfortunately, when he checked to make sure nothing had fallen out, he noticed that his student card wasn't in his pocket. This led to the current situation where Dayun was scolding Ijin for his carelessness.
'It's strange, I didn't run too fast, how did-'
A small memory flashed through Ijin's head as he was thinking about where he might have dropped his student card. The image of a beautiful girl lying on the ground came to mind, and he couldn't help but sigh.
'I just hope the janitor or some teacher found it.'
"Well, I guess we shouldn't worry about it anymore. If you're lucky, maybe some teacher or student found your card and will return it to you tomorrow."
'... If you were going to tell me that, then why were you lecturing me for 30 minutes?'
Despite feeling frustrated by his younger sister's reprimand, Ijin could only put on a bitter smile and resumed his walk together with Dayun.
He had already made a promise to himself that he would not let these kinds of opportunities pass him by and would try to spend as much time as possible with his family.
"Ah, now that I remember... Grandpa gave me these tickets for a free coffee, he told me that the girl who gave them to him thanked him for helping her with her move and that if one day he wanted to try a good coffee to go to this store, she also told him that the food there is very good."
"Did Grandpa help anyone with their move?... Are you okay?"
After imagining his grandfather carrying heavy boxes for quite a while, a bitter smile appeared on Ijin's face. After all, his grandfather was quite an old person...
"Don't worry about it, Grandpa is stronger than you think."
Seeing his little sister's smile, Ijin simply nodded and didn't bring up the subject any further.
"So... Um, is it okay if we go?"
It had only been a few days since Ijin had arrived in Korea, so Dayun was worried about her brother. She heard that he had been living abroad and all, but she worried about the issue of Ijin's memory loss.
Because of this, she was thinking of the best way to help her brother get to know the place where they live better. When her grandfather handed her these tickets, she was immediately happy as she had found a perfect excuse to ask Ijin to come with her so they could tour the neighborhood together.
'Come on Dayun, you can do it!'
Encouraging himself internally, Dayun looked at Ijin with a determined gaze.
'Those are flames?'
Unaware of his sister's thoughts, Ijin couldn't help but blink at the sudden illusion of fire surrounding Dayun's body.
"Mmm, well... Okay, let's go together."
After some thought, Ijin ended up agreeing. He searched through his memories to see if he could find a similar event that happened in the original story, but after coming up with nothing, he decided that maybe it's a part that wasn't told in the original and didn't give it any more thought.
"Well, then the direction says it's in-"
"Eh?, Dayun!?
Just as Dayun was checking out the location of the shop, a thorny voice came from not far from where she and Ijin were.
When they both turned around to see who the voice they had heard was from, their expressions took a different turn. Dayun started to sweat and tremble. Ijin, for his part, only showed a cold look.
"Mmm? Who is that boy? Is he your boyfriend?"
"N-No, that..."
In the original story, she was Dayun's main bully's friend and the one who also bullied her...
"Hey, what's with that look? Do you want to fight?"
Due to Ijin's intense gaze, one of the boys standing next to that girl stood up from where he was sitting and started to taunt her while maintaining an intimidating look.
'Should I knock him out? It would be very easy to neutralize his entire group...'
"E-Eh, t-that's it, calm down Oppa, t-they're just f-friends~"
Any kind of thought Ijin had was quickly cut off by his sister's words. There was no need to ask why she said that, he knew every detail of the story Dayun was hiding from him.
"Ahhh!?, friends?, I'm your friend Dayun?"
"This, no, what I meant..."
However, Dayun didn't know anything about Ijin, so it was normal to assume that he was nothing more than an ordinary person. Even though she looked quite nervous, she didn't hesitate to speak for him.
"Mmm? That guy keeps looking at us like that."
"Tch, this idiot!... Hey, do you want to die!? Or is it because of your sister that you're acting strong!?"
Because Ijin continued to keep his gaze fixed on them, the boy who threatened him earlier stood up and started walking towards him and his sister.
'Oh, so this is what Ijin meant when he said that the boy was "helpless."'
Due to the unparalleled hell he experienced at the camp, Ijin's senses were heightened to the max, as even distinguishing footsteps, scent, etc., was necessary for his survival.
It is thanks to this that before his eyes, he saw not only the boy's robust and immense body, but also several points that indicated the different openings and most lethal places that he could take advantage of to attack...
'It would be so easy...'
"(Remember Ijin, don't fight, okay?)"
Before he fell into the temptation of hitting the boy, the warning words that Lieutenant Kang told him passed through his mind.
Sigh* 'I'll let it slide this time~'
"Let's go Dayun, I'm starting to get hungry"
Wanting to put the current problem aside, Ijin stopped looking at the group of bullies and said a few words to his sister while looking at her and maintaining a reassuring smile.
"O-Okay..."
Dayun was quite scared, she didn't know what would happen if those guys wanted to start a fight with her brother. She didn't know anything about his past and the only thing she knew about him was that he lived abroad for a while.
This is why she didn't want her brother to get into trouble because of her. It had been a long time since they last saw each other and she didn't want the first memory they created together to be her seeing Ijin getting beaten up.
"Y-You, shit, think it's so easy to ignore me and walk away!"
But, just when they decided to leave, that burly boy grabbed Ijin by the neck and raised his fist with the intention of hitting him.
"N-No! P-please forgive him!"
"H-He has been living abroad for a long time s-so he is just now getting used to our culture!"
Before the boy's fist could hit Ijin's face, Dayun quickly bowed his head and begged him to please let it go this time with the excuse that his brother was still adjusting to the culture of this country.
"Ha!? What does that have to do with me!? This guy insulted me and now I'm going to make him see the consequences of his stupidity!"
"..."
Ijin for his part wasn't scared in the least, he knew what would happen from now on. Previously he wanted to avoid the problem this time and deal with it later since he wanted to go eat with his sister.
But since the burly boy let himself be guided by his anger and didn't let go of the problem, Ijin didn't have to feel sorry for that boy.
'I gave you a chance and you failed to take advantage of it, just blame your foolish arrogance for what's about to happen'
Having made up his mind, Ijin raises his arm and hits the hand that was holding him.
"Ack! It hurts like shit! What kind of hit was that?!"
Ignoring the boy's chatter, Ijin walked towards Dayun, when he saw a shadow begin to cover her, she raised her face.
Seeing the expression of fear that was on his sister's face, Ijin took off the jacket he was wearing and with a warm smile spoke to Dayun.
"Hey Dayun..."
"E-Eh?!, O-Oppa?..."
"It'll just be a moment, okay..."
As he said this, Ijin covered Dayun's face with his jacket and told her to count to five.
"Damn punk, I'm going to beat the shit out of you!"
Recovering from the sudden blow Ijin had dealt him, the burly boy furiously ran towards him with the intention of dealing a heavy blow.
'It seems I'll have to break my promise to the lieutenant...'
But before his fist even touched Ijin, the image of a fist appeared in front of him.
Swipe*
"A-Ack..."
Crashing into a railing, the burly boy fell unconscious as a large amount of blood came out of his nose.
"!?"
"Wh-What the fuck! He knocked him out with one punch!"
The girl couldn't believe what she was seeing, much less her other companion, but their surprise made them realize that Ijin had already reached where they were.
"Ah!"
"What the-... Cough!"
Quickly, Ijin proceeded to deliver a strong blow to the stomach of the girl's other companion and once he fell to his knees, he kicked him in the jaw, leaving him unconscious...
"H-How..."
Not having recovered from the previous shock, the bullying girl did not know how to react to what was happening.
"Hey."
"!"
But when she heard Ijin's voice and turned her gaze towards him, a huge chill ran down her spine. Ijin's gaze looked a lot like that of an animal that was watching its prey, no, it was much worse than that, even a beast wouldn't have that kind of bloodthirsty look.
After a second of eye contact between them, Ijin slowly walked towards her.
"D-Don't come any closer!"
The girl for her part began to back away, repeating to Ijin not to come any closer, but all attempts were useless, as he continued to come closer and closer.
"Ah..."
When she realized that there was no more room to retreat, she noticed that Ijin was only two steps away from reaching her and a slight premonition of what was going to happen to her filtered through Ijin's cold eyes.
"Oppa?"
However, the whisper of what she believed to have been a fairy, made itself present in the midst of the suffocating silence. As if neither of them expected it, both turned their gaze towards the person who had spoken.
'What happened?... Did Ijin Oppa do this? But it hasn't been long since he covered me with his jacket...'
Dayun, for her part, was shocked by what she saw. Those guys who looked quite intimidating were now lying on the ground in a pathetic manner.
'I guess it's better to leave it here, it's not like I don't have any more opportunities...'
Sigh. After seeing Dayun finish taking off her coat from her face, Ijin let out a deep sigh and walked towards her. Of course, before he left, he whispered a small warning to the bullying girl.
"I hope you don't comment on anything that happened here, okay?..."
With that said, Ijin didn't delay any longer and walked towards where Dayun was.
"Excuse me, are you okay Dayun?"
"Uh? Well, this..."
"Ah! I don't know what happened to them, out of nowhere they went crazy and hit each other..."
Dayun didn't know her brother very well due to the long time they had been separated, but she recognized that Ijin was very bad at lying. His story was quite clumsy and his gestures made him look nervous, but she was happy that he was okay.
'Right, Oppa was always like that...'
Even when she got lost in the zoo, he was the one who found her and brought her home. When no children wanted to play with her, he was the one who put aside his classmates and started playing with her...
"So... Is the outing still on? If you don't want to, then we could go another day with Grandpa so-"
"It's... It's okay Oppa, let's go, we don't want to arrive when it's already closed, right?"
"Eh? Oh, yeah... Everything okay?"
Despite being glad that Dayun's outing wasn't cancelled, he was still worried about his sister. He knew she wasn't one to be suspicious, but he couldn't help but feel a slight sense of dread.
"Yeah, it's okay."
'I'd better not go on about this, after all, I'll wait for Oppa to tell me when he's sure...'
Ijin had always done his best for her, so if he wanted to hide what had happened then there was a good reason.
"Oh! Right, here Oppa, thank you very much..."
'Mmm, it seems I worried too much'
Seeing that his sister looked the same as always, Ijin put aside his doubts and took the jacket he had given to Dayun. Then, the two of them proceeded to leave towards that place they had been talking about before they met those guys.
"Goodbye..."
"..."
But, before continuing on her way, just like Ijin, but in a different way, Dayun said goodbye to the bullying girl.
...
..
.
After leaving the place, Dayun and Ijin took the bus to Nonhyeon Station. The cafe was in the Gangnam district so it should take thirty minutes by train.
However, no one, not even Ijin, had noticed that someone else had seen him finish off those two boys.
"I thought it was Han Eun Sung, but it seems I was wrong... So, who was that gray-haired boy? He seemed quite strong."
Feeling curious about that boy, the person came out from where he had been hiding, revealing the appearance of a beautiful black-haired girl wearing a uniform similar to Dayun's but with a mustard-colored skirt and a sports jacket.
"... It seems that it would be better to investigate a little more before making a decision..."
With that said, the girl took one last look at her phone and turned around, going in the opposite direction to Ijin, leaving behind that comment to which she herself would find an answer a few days later.
(A/N: Good morning readers! Did you wait long?... No, to begin with I don't even know if you're reading this, hehehehe... That's sad now that I think about it.
Well in any case, I'm very sorry for the delay, due to my studies it's not possible for me to do a chapter. Homework, exams, etc. All that doesn't allow me to concentrate much on this fan-fic thing even if I wanted to.
But still, I'll try to upload a chapter at least weekly. I'll also upload a poll soon to choose the first manha the main character will travel to, although you'll have to wait a few more chapters for that.
Lastly, and before I say goodbye, I'd like to ask you what you think of the current way of writing. Do you think it's okay like this or do you prefer the previous way I wrote, placing next to each comment "[Character] said while...".
Well, that's all for now, if you have any questions or concerns, you can leave them in the next post~. Bye bye!)
