It all started when a strayed alien creature appeared in the world. It was captured by a scientist who was driven insane by his pure hate for humans.
For a long time, he hated the humans for how he and his family were treated by everyone around them which led to the death of his children and wife. Driven by his desire for revenge and his love for experiments, he sought out ways to punish the entire human race and after years of trying, he finally came up with an idea.
Mixing the genes and blood of the alien creature with that of a human, he was able to create a specie of an alien-human which he later called the 'Sapiens'.
He thought that as the creator, this specie will obey him forever but it was nothing but mere impossible thinking, the Sapien began to show rebellious characters for a long time until one day, it ran away into hiding and soon, it began to multiply until they were overpopulated that they needed to find a new place to live.
They made their way into the human settlements and because of how intelligent they are, they came with the hope of making a deal with the leaders but instead of agreeing to the terms and conditions of this intelligent species, the leaders devised a plan to annihilate them. Out of anger and fear of being wiped out, these species began to fight back until a war broke out.
The humans were taken by surprise as the sapiens were having the upper hand in the war. It was at this point that the five countries decided to put their disputes aside and come together to fight their one enemy.
Still at that, the humans were losing, they kept dying like chickens, houses were being destroyed, and the remaining kids were hidden in underground tunnels while their parents partook in the war. It seemed as though there is no longer hope for them anymore.
Just when humanity thought all hope was lost, the sky suddenly cracked and portals opened. Different colours of fogs filled the air and everyone was engulfed in them, the weak ones disappeared along with the fogs while those who were strong enough were able to awaken some rare abilities. They fought with their new powers and drove the sapiens away from the human world, killing some along the way. These people became the heroes of humanity.
They brought the remaining people together in one place and then they became one country, just when they thought everything was finally over, they began to see traces of the sapiens again. They didn't want what happened before to repeat again and thus, they began to seek ways to share their abilities with others.
It was not possible though but hopes weren't lost. They created an awakening stone that will aid the people in awakening any ability that they were able to, while doing this, they also wrote down their abilities in books and called it 'the ability book'
Not everyone had this book because of the high price and so some individuals thought it wise to rewrite the ability books and make the new ones cheaper. It was cheap and so did the quality of the books drop, they called the original ability book 'advanced ability books ' while the ones rewritten were called 'basic ability books'
Some poor families purchased the basic ability books for their kids who had awakened their abilities but unlike the advanced ability books owned by the rich families, they were lacking behind and were considered the weak ones.
In the case of Sam, his family were the rich ones in society. They had given birth to him and just like other parents they had expected their son to awaken an ability from birth as an ability runs from their blood, but unfortunately, he was not able to.
Luckily, their second son came and he was able to awaken an ability, their parents used all their resources to purchase an ability book for their second son in return for him to bring them honour but in Sam's case, he got nothing as he was considered trash.
Because of the way he was treated by everyone around him, Sam suddenly developed a hunger for power. He wanted so much to have powers so that he'll put an end to all the ridiculous and ill-treatment that was given to him by people.
He checked the time and it was 5:00 Am already, he had only an hour to begin his daily quest since classes commence by 7:00 Am every day.
Not wanting to miss his daily quest and go to classes late, he decided to start Immediately, he laid flat on the ground, facing the ceiling. "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10...." He kept counting as he did the sit-ups, it was easier and so he started with it.

"...498, 499, 500, Agh!" Sam groaned as he collapsed on the floor, he never knew that the press-up will be harder than he thought, if he had known, he would have begun with it and then the sit-ups will come next. Nevertheless, it wasn't the time to regret or lay blame on himself as he was already done with the two.

Sam saw the messages but he waved them aside, he needed to drink water and the fridge was at the end of his room, he could not stand on his feet but there was only one option; 'drag' He began to drag his stiffened and aching body on the floor until he got to where the fridge is. He managed to open it after a while of struggle, the first bottle he grabbed was gulped in one go, and so were the second and third. "Finally!" he muttered as he sat up, he was now able to feel his body unlike before.
He checked the time and it was almost 7:00 Am. Without waiting to be told, he sprang to his feet and dashed into the bathroom, after some minutes he came out again and began to wear his clothes which didn't take long.
Five minutes was enough for him to get dressed and so he rushed out of his room and made his way towards his class which was at the end of the large school.
He got to the class just before the doors were locked and took his seat, no one looked at him as they didn't see any difference in him and secondly he was not worthy of their attention. The teacher soon came and began his daily routine of filling the students with his blabs and mumbles. when his time was off, he left the class without turning to spare the students a last-minute glance.
Sam not having anything to do placed his head on the desk to sleep as he felt sleepy, but before he could do that, trouble came looking for him.
"Hey! the boss wants to see you now!" A boy said as he approached him.
