In a void space filled with nothing but pitch-black darkness, a sliver of light was floating around as though the light had no direction in mind. The light kept flickering but soon, the light slowly grew the size of a grown man. Then, the light slowly took the shape of a human.
"Am I still alive?" Hunter asked himself. He tried to open his eyes but felt absolutely nothing. The images of his last few minutes flashed across his mind. He was conscious and trying to move his body only to fail.
Suddenly, he remembered the last thing he heard before the darkness enveloped him.

"I definitely heard the voice of Venom. Is this what death feels like?" Many questions emerged in his mind,
"Hello, anybody there" no sounds came out of his mouth because he had no mouth or physical body. He lost his sense of time altogether. For an unknown amount of time, Hunter's soul drifted in the dark space.
"Dogzilla," He cried out for his pet in his mind because, in the entire world, he missed his trusty dog the most. The German shepherd was the only being he considered family after his father died when he was six years old.
At the age of six, he rose to the throne of the Kingdom of Blade. His country was one of the very few that were still called 'Kingdom' like ancient times.
Despite how everyone made out, kingdom Blade was one of the wealthiest countries in the world. The country prospered under the rule of his family. Granted, just like his father, grandfather, great grandfather, he spent the majority of the wealth generated by the county on nuclear weapons and new types of weapons of destruction.
Having nuclear weapons more than the superpowers was the reason for Kingdom Blade to be targeted by the united nations. Also, he may or may not have enforced some strict rules such as only 1 child per family, everyone above the age of 18 must take military training and go to a job, a death sentence for almost all crimes. Also, he may have killed a few people who tried to bring democracy to Blade and a few journalists who tried to do some investigative journalism. Even for him, it was tough to keep track of the crimes he committed. There were hundreds of other things he didn't even consider crimes.
Many compared him with other famous dictators in the world. By many, he meant almost all the world. However, he always viewed him as an independent king of the modern age. He couldn't see the pitch-black void around him. His vision was blurry white. Floating in the space, he began recollecting the events of his past life. At this point, he was almost certain this was hell and he would float around for eternity as a punishment for his sins. He was not dumb enough to believe he didn't die but magically survived hundreds of bullets riddled his body.
"Jesus christ, what is this?" Hunter was taught to be patient by his father and his mentors ever since he was little. So, he was pretty patient in nature as he believed with patience comes opportunities. Yet, even he started to lose his patience after floating for what felt like forever.
At least torture me or something. Im getting bored to death again. Can I even die after this?" Hunter screamed in his mind,
Ding!
A thundering bell rang in his mind. He heard it for the first time in a very long time. If someone sounded a bell in Blade, he would probably send them to the dungeon and get their ears poked by a hot rod. But, this time, he was excited.

Yet again, a voice remarkably similar to Venom's sounded in his mind. The next moment, his blurry vision gradually began to clear as he saw emerald green letters materialize in front of him.

"What the actual fuck? Wait a minute, oh no no no no. This must be some kind of sick dream"
Even after seeing what seemed like a status window, his mind refused to accept reality. He read his fair share of system novels when he was a dictator (cough)…independent king of Blade. It was good for the mind after a long day of ruling the kingdom. Still, he never imagined himself with a system in a fantasy world because it was a foolish dream. Besides, he had everything, why should he dream about a fantasy world?

This time, no letters appeared before him but just heard the gruff voice.
"Shit I guess this is really happening. This is dope" he was excited. Rather than thinking anything negative such as he might end up in a post-apocalyptic world or something, he focused on positive thoughts.
He wished he had arms and legs so he could jump in excitement. Never in his life has he felt as excited as now.
"This time, I wanna try something different and avoid getting killed by bureaucratic assholes"
"What if I went to the future? Then ill be probably fucked. No, I should go to some ancient times"
"Will there be cultivation levels and stuff?"
"Should I start a harem? Eww no"
"Will there be dragons?"
"What should be my goal?"
Endless questions and thoughts emerged in his mind. He was not the deadliest man in the world at the moment. Instead, he was an excited youngster who felt like inhaling the smoke of happiness.
His vision started to flicker and glitch,
"I lived my previous life according to my father and the Blade legacy. If by some bloody chance, I get a second life, I'm gonna live my life as I want" He promised himself. Ever since he took the throne, his life has been a strict schedule and constant decision making. Although he loved his role as the king, he always wanted more with his life, a thrill, excitement, and more than anything, absolute power. He loved power like crazy. The last few weeks of the war were the most exciting part of his life. He loved the feeling of holding power to decide his enemies' fate. At that time, when he pushed the button to nuke four countries, he truly felt alive. It was a moment of ultimate orgasm, no! more than orgasm. Ultimate pleasure might be the best way to describe the feeling.
However, he also realized that just like any orgasm, it would only last for a few minutes or seconds. If he wanted to feel it longer, he had to fix the mistakes he made in his last life.
As seconds became minutes and minutes became hours, the scenery before him gradually transformed. Then, finally, he saw something other than a blurry white scene for the first time in a long time.
The narrow dark alley had dumpsters on either side. Something that looked like green moths blanketed most of the red bricks, and no living being in the narrow alley. He could kinda guess why no sane human would come to this dark valley unless they wanted to get mugged or killed.
Hunter wished he got limbs or a head that would enable him to look around. But unfortunately, Hunter couldn't move his eyes sight at all. He wanted to look around desperately.
"Booohhhooo"
"Parker…wake up…don't leave me…hoohoo"
Someone sobbed. Hunter tried to locate the source of this irritating sobbing sound.
"Parker!"
"Parker!"
"Parker!"
His body or whatever form he was in slowly floated in the direction of the sobbing voice. The sobbing became louder and louder as he reached a space between two dumpsters where he saw something unbelievable.
A young boy in raggedy clothes, holding another boy on his lap and sobbing. Hunter couldn't take his eyes off the sobbing boy, especially those pointy ears that looked as sharp as a dagger. Even in the dark alley where sunlight barely managed to shine, Hunter could see the pale milky white skin of the sobbing youngster. His golden hair was messy indeed as though his head never touched a comb but the hair was silky and shiny.
"Is that an elf?!" Hunter's mind went blank. The last time he saw an elf was in a Lord of the Rings movie which premiered earlier for him specially.
He wanted to move forward but he simply couldn't. In his awe, he failed to notice the human boy lying still on the elf's lap.

All of a sudden, something started to pull him towards the elf. Hunter wasn't worried but excited. At this moment, it was certain that he's gonna reborn in the body of someone else. He hoped he would become an elf but since the elf seems to be alive, his consciousness told him that he was going to be reborn in the body of a human.
"Something tells me this is going to be one helluva ride"
