Chapter 2 - The Saddest News Ever

Mrs Daisy froze in shock while watching the morning news. First there had been so many questions concerning the presence of Lord Marcus at Treasure's birthday party. Everyone knew that Marcus never attended any social gathering invtolving any of his children or their mothers; However, seeing him at Treasure's birthday party raised brows not just from the public but from his ex_wives, his baby mamas, and their children. The way the couple danced and ate cake from each other's mouth's grip only made matters worse, as jealousy arose between them, then several hate speeches as well as scandals got out too. It was said that Lord Marcus and his PA had met with a terrible car accident in front of his company building, on his way home from work at the early hours of 1:45 am that morning. He had died even before he was rushed to the hospital, and police officers had marked out the scene of the accident posing that it had not happened according to fate but had been carefully plotted out by someone, perhaps, one of his numerous haters. Displaying the truck which had collided with Marcus's car, the police discovered that the truck was less damaged compared to Lord Marcus' car which was in a scrap state. unfortunately no one had been found in the driver's seat of the truck. Lord Marcus' PA, Mr Donald, also had a bashed car, but his body was no where to be seen. His wife, Mrs Stacy Donald had almost gone insane when she heard of the accident. Amazed at the scene, the police officers on patrol promised to take up the case and fish out the murderer themselves, and also started commenced a search for Mr Donald.

Mrs Daisy kept reminding herself that she had finally been forced into widowhood and Treasure had been left without a father. Although Mrs Daisy had issues with Lord Marcus three years after their wedding, when she found out that the rumors of her husband having other women who already had children for him was true. Nevertheless, today, she missed him more than ever, even though their marriage had never been a romantic one. Slowly but steadily, tears rolled down her cheeks, wetting her night dress. Treasure's call jerked her back to reality and with the speed of lightening, she turned off the television. Treasure, a taken aback, walked to her mom, and still holding her milkshake with both hands, she asked

"why did you turn off the TV? What's wrong? Why are you crying?" Mrs Daisy wiping her face on the hem of her night dress, forced a smile...

"its nothing darling, I was watching an emotional movie and you are a bit underaged so I didn't want you to see it" she lied. Treasure looked suspiciously at her

"mom, do you realize I've got a television in my bedroom? You know, I could go check exactly what's making you cry... do you want that?" She asked again sipping her milkshake. Mrs Daisy suddenly rose from the couch like a wounded lion. she yelled..

"I forbid you watch TV today!! No TV, no cellphone, no laptops or desktops or anything! Not even classes! You'd stay home today, and hand in all of your gadgets to any of your maids to bring them to me, and no mistakes on that! Got it?" Mrs Daisy asked visibly shivering, but Treasure kept staring at her looking a bit dumbfounded. "I wonder what's wrong with mom today and heaven knows how long she's going to keep my things. "Ruth?" She called out, and a beautiful lady in her late twenties entered the room.

"Yes ma'am" she answered. Treasure handed her all of her cellphones, her laptops and finally the television remote.

"Give all these to my mom and tell Pascal to come carry the computers in my library quickly..." Ruth was surprised but she didn't delay, she had seen the sad look on Treasure's face and didn't want to bother her. After Ruth had left, Treasure lay helplessly on her bed thinking of her mother's sudden change. She couldn't even reach out to her friends or Mrs Camilla Brunet, her ballet tutor, to tell them she was skipping school that day.

Few minutes later, Treasure was distracted by a knock at the door.

"Come in", she said calmly and Eden walked in.

"we've got orders from madam that you'd be skipping school today,"...she paused for a while and seeing that Treasure didn't react, she continued.

"madam has asked that you get dressed in your balle clothes and practice your steps, she says you need to master it all as it is more important than education for now. So please ma'am would you let me clothe you?" Treasure looked up at her maidservant and said in clear words

"come back here only when lunch is ready." Eden was very confused, she didn't understand exactly what Treasure meant, but she knew for sure she wasn't welcomed.

"yes ma'am", she said and leaving.

Mrs Daisy tapped on the door and entered Treasure's room, she didn't see Treasure on the bed or in her bathroom, not even in her play room or in her library, she was almost panicking when she caught a glimpse of her at the balcony. She quickly walked there and drew back the curtains. Seeing her daughter, Mrs Daisy felt sorry for her, out of boredom, Treasure had started using colour pencils to write her name in different designs. Mrs Daisy watched her for a while before calling out her name..

" Treasure?" Treasure looked up to her. "Yes mom?" She answered

"Darling I'm so sorry for the way I behaved earlier today, can forgive me?" She asked sitting down beside her.

"its nothing," Treasure replied not smiling at all. Mrs Daisy watched her in admiration

"You are bored, I thought your balle dance could help, that was why I sent Eden to tell you...

"I don't feel like dancing today" she said caressed the tip of her colour pencil. Mrs Daisy fell quiet unsure of what to say next but Treasure took a glimpse of her.

"you are going somewhere ain't you?" she said Mrs Daisy nodded looking at her outfit, she was scared Treasure might ask her where she was off to. she didn't want to tell her she was going to the hospital

"you should go, I'm not asking that you stay here, but for whatever reason you were crying this morning, just know it will be fine,... sooner or later". Mrs Daisy held in her tears, bent over her daughter and gave her a goodbye kiss
