*Damian*
I had just arrived at Ember's house dressed in some camouflage cargo pants and a simple black shirt with new boots I bought for myself a couple months ago. I killed the engine, grabbed the flowers that my mom kindly let me grab from her garden along with other things in a box and headed towards the front door. While holding the box under my arm, I knock with my left hand. I waited a little but no one came to the door, so I knocked again. I hear some shuffling of feet on the other side of the door and as soon as it opens I'm met by an older woman than Ember. She had to be her mom. I cleared my throat.
"Hello ma'am, my name is Damian Morningstar. I came by to drop off some gifts for you guys. I hope you don't mind the uncalled visit." I was so nervous that I was beginning to sweat.
"Don't sweat! Parents can smell fear!"
"Not helping, Drago!" I decided to shorten the demon's name that was in my head.
"So you're the one that my daughter told me about today." She laughs. "Look I'm not here to judge you or anything, but as a parent of a girl I have to ask you some questions. Is that okay?" I nodded my head unsure of what to say. "First question, you're not looking for just an easy girl are you?"
"No, that's not my intention. If she wants that to happen it will be by her choice, not mine, although I would ask you if it would be okay first."
"Are you from around here?"
"Yes I live at the Morningstar farmhouse just three roads away."
"Oh wow, that's a name I haven't heard in a long time. I knew Michael Morningstar during my school days and if I'm correct he was dating Misty Phillis right?"
"That's right, they are my parents."
"What a small world." She chuckles. "Well now that I know you a bit, what did you bring?"
"Oh." I bring the box to face level. "I brought some flowers for Ember and homegrown veggies from my mother's garden for you." I handed her the box.
"Cucumbers, tomatoes, green peppers, and is that zucchini?"
"My mom has always had a green thumb." I laughed.
"Why thank you Damian, I appreciate these and Ember is gonna love these flowers. I'm honestly glad you didn't get her pink, she hates that color."
"I imagined that wasn't her style."
"I have dinner cooking right now but Ember is in the backyard pool with a friend of hers. Would you like to stay for dinner?"
"It would be my honor, Miss uh…"
"Oh please, Crystal is my name. Using ma'am or miss or anything like that makes me feel old. You can use the gate to get in the back."
"Thanks." She shuts the door as I make my way to the backyard and I can hear voices on the other side of the fence. But I was expecting a girl's voice to accompany her, not a guys! Immediately jealousy flowed through me. I take a deep breath because I don't want to fight him if he's only a friend. I open the gate and immediately Ember's eyes are filled with terror. "Hey Ember, who's this?" Ember goes to speak but the guy comes towards me with an angry expression.
"My name is Axel. Who are you?" He asks with a bit of attitude in his voice.
"Damian. Look I don't want to fight…"
"Look here, Damian. I was about to ask this girl out until you so rudely interrupted us." My fists balled up as jealousy coursed through me again.
"Axel! Stop it! Damian is my boyfriend! I was going to explain that to you but then you decide to go Alpha male on him. Look, we can still be friends but please don't fight him." She begs. She puts a hand on my forearm and the tension breaks away.
"Okay, I can see when I'm not wanted. I'll let you be." Axel storms off to a house next to Ember's and he slams the gate shut.
"I'm sorry about that Damian, I didn't know you were coming and yes he did ask me out but…" she began to show tears so I wrapped her in a hug.
"It's okay, I'm not mad. Not one bit. I met your mom before I came back here and she explained that a friend of yours was back here. I should have called you before I came here anyways." I wiped her tears with my thumb and she immediately let out a giggle. "What?"
"You look cute."
"Cute? I'm cute? I was going for handsome or something more manly than that." She giggles again.
"I say you're cute as in a male lion trying to act like a cat." I couldn't help but laugh at that statement. "What?"
"Roar." I say with no emotion. She just shakes her head but I take a good look at her in her bikini. If I was wearing athletic shorts my boner would probably be showing its full mast right now. "You look sexy."
Her eyes widen as she looks down at what she's wearing and covers herself. I immediately give into instinct and kiss her. I wrap my arms around her waist, feeling her erect nipples from the cold air on me. She gives off a little moan into our kiss. Damn I wanted nothing but her to scream my name right now, but I have to be patient plus her mom is inside!
"What was that for?" She asked as soon as I stopped the kiss.
"For stealing my heart." I say truthfully.
"Aww. You're so sweet." She coos.
"Let's get inside, I have something for you plus I'm sure your mom is waiting for us with dinner." She smiles, holding my hand as we get inside.
After our dinner of burgers, fries, and salad, Ember and I sat on the couch. We were watching one of my favorite all time movies called "The Crow" and as we were watching it Ember cuddled close to me. Her head rested between my shoulder and my chest. She rubbed my stomach up and down, probably feeling my abs that I had for years now. I've never been fat or skinny in my life. I've always been nothing but muscle. I stayed on that couch until the movie ended. Ember had fallen asleep, I guess she got too comfortable. I chuckle as I remove myself slowly, placing her on the couch with a pillow under her head, covering her with a blanket. I turned off the tv and made my way silently out of her house, taking some food home with me. Drago had been silent ever since I had seen Ember. I questioned it but I guess demons get tired too. I open my truck door, about to enter until I see movement beside me. I turn and see Axel standing there! I jump a bit, startled by his presence but he holds his hands up in surrender.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. Look I think we…" He begins.
"You want to fight? Let's do it!" I hold up my fists and take a fighting stance.
"I don't want to fight!" I raise an eyebrow but I put my hands down. "As I was saying, I think we got off on the wrong foot. I didn't know Ember already had a boyfriend and yes I did ask her out but I just moved here and…" he sighs. "I'm sorry for getting defensive, can we introduce each other again? My name is Axel Kahn. I just moved here and I'd like to get to know each other, if you allow me?" He holds out his hand.
"Damian Morningstar." I shake his hand.
"Wow you've got a grip." He laughs. "Damn I'm glad I didn't fight you now." This makes me chuckle.
"Axel, you seem cool. I guess I got a little defensive too and I'm sorry for my impulses on fighting you. So you just moved here?" I asked.
"Sure did, just a couple days ago. I was looking at a route to start running, know of any?"
"Yeah, yeah I do. Maybe I'll accompany you."
"Sounds good, I like to run in the mornings."
I nodded. "Sounds like I've got a running mate now."
"Sure do. Well I won't keep you here. I'm sure you need some rest or something so tomorrow will be a good day?"
"Yep. I'll see you tomorrow, at 7 am."
"You got it. Thanks man, I appreciate it." He walks towards his house and I watch as he goes inside. Something tells me not to trust him but I think it's my nerves from earlier. I hope my instincts aren't wrong to trust him.
