"Let me go take this, if the waiter comes I'll have a shrimp fried rice with pineapple, size small." Brynn recited to Greyson.
"Alright ma'am" He said in a mocking tone. She laughed. She walked out the restaurant, boots clacking on the tile floor. Some people analyzed her outfit and shot her weird, judgmental looks. She ignored them.
"What do you want?" She hissed.
"Geez, I was going to ask you if I could come to your early dinner." Colton said on the other end of the phone.
"You're insufferable." Brynn said.
"Damn you, I've been your friend for your entire childhood." Colton grumbled.
"So that gives you the privilege to act like a jerk?" Brynn countered.
She heard Colton sigh. "Look I'm sorry, can you just forget that call? I was stressed and not thinking straight, you're coming to the game right?" He asked.
That damn game. Brynn thought.
"But you can't come to my competitions?" She asked with an aggressive tone.
"Those don't count, you're only on for like 1 minute, in my games I'm on for almost an hour and-" She cut him off.
"What's your prize?" Brynn asked him. "What's in it for you, what do you get in return? Are you risking your whole life every 'One minute' no Colton Calloway." She ranted. She took a deep breath. People told her her sport wasn't worth watching a lot but every time she'd get mad. Michelle told her it made her look pathetic.
"Talk to you in school tomorrow," Brynn hung up, and trudged back into the restaurant to their table.
"Is everything fine?" Greyson asked, digging into his meal.
"Yeah don't worry!" Brynn said with fake elation. They ate and split the bill. Michelle went to her pink Lexis, and Brynn and Greyson went to Greyson's Ferrari. Why his parents got him a ferrari, Brynn honestly didn't know. It was like they bought him everything, then went back to saving up, yelling, and getting drunk the next minute. The car was a sleek silver color, with a velvet and gray interior.
"It'll take about 1.5 hours to get to your house," Greyson said. "Get comfy, shall I play music?"
"Sure, whatever." Brynn mumbled.
"What the matter, grumpy?" He inquired.
"Colton is being a pain right now," Brynn said somewhat vaguely.
"Don't mind him, think about Hampton! You're definitely going to win!" Greyson said cheerfully and winked.
"I told you already, don't fail just to let me win, or I will give you the ribbon and prize." Brynn pressurized.
"Geez calm down, I was only kidding." Greyson chuckled. He put the car in reverse, and backed out of the parking spot.
"Do you want to drive?" Greyson asked.
"Hell no." Brynn replied. She would never drive a car this expensive, for the fear of crashing, or even scratching it was too great.
"Fine," He put the address into the GPS. Brynn noticed it was not her home address, but the address of their barn.
'Why are we going to the barn?" She asked.
"You parents decorated Stolen's stall with his ribbons, I wasn't supposed to tell you, but I want you to see before they put up the last ones, so you can be sure you fancy the design." He replied.
"Omg that's awesome!" Brynn was very excited now. Why had her parents not told her? But something in Greyson's eyes was off. Was he lying? Her parents had just told her in the car that the ribbons were best left in the house, so no one could take them. Her phone lit up for a notification.
She opened it to see a message from her friend, Biana.

Biana was now in full fangirl mode. She loved fancy cars. It was a little absurd if you asked Brynn.
"We are almost there," Greyson said, Brynn hadn't realized how much time had passed. Brynn yawned. It was about 7:50. They were at the restaurant for 2 hours and in the car for 1.
They drove for about 8 more minutes until they reached the barn.
"Alright, we are here!" Greyson said. He was surprisingly fidgety.
"Are you cold?" Brynn asked. His hands were almost shaking.
"N-no, heh i'm fine." He replied.
"Okay…" Brynn was concerned. They walked into the barn, the sunset in the distance. The two got to the barn aisle Stolen Wishes's stall is. Right next to Confident Lair's stall. They walked deeper down the 20 stall aisle. She walked up to Stolen's stall. There was no ribbon.
"Greyson there are no ribbons?" Brynn turned around. A sign fell down from the stall across from Stolen's, confetti shot out. It was gold, white, and blue. Brynn's favorite colors. Her eyes grew wide at the sight before her eyes.
Brynn Myers, Prom?
Greyson was standing under the sign. Flowers in hand, hay in his messy brown hair. Amber eyes sparkling with both anxiety and happiness. Dirt and filth on his boots, smile on his lips. Brynn covered her mouth with her hand. Tears welled in her eyes.
