"Yes grandma, I told you earlier that I'm no longer a kid." I said and she laughed.
"Indeed." she said and looked over at Kyle. "Come over here." she said. Kyle walked to her and grandma embraced her. "It's nice meeting you. What's your name?" Grandma asked.
"Kyla." she said.
"Well Kyla, you're so adorable." Grandma said and Kyla blushed.
"Thanks grandma, you look lovely." she said.
"Oh, she's a sweet girl. You know, my JJ here.." grandma said, tapping me but looking at Kyle. " ..is a very troublesome guy. He's always up to one mischief or the other. Do you know that?" she asked Kyle.
"Yeah." she said and we all laughed.
"Ok Mum, enough with your JJ and his girlfriend. What do you have in the kitchen?" mum asked.
"Yes Mum. It was a long journey here." dad said, taking his seat. Grandma also sat down, holding Kyle and making her sit beside her.
"I didn't prepare anything. You didn't inform me you were coming." Grandma Said.
KYLA'S P.O.V
Jeremy's grandma was very nice to me. She made me sit beside her, not wanting to let me go.
"Sonia." she called and a lady ran to her. "Please prepare something for us to eat." Grandma said and the lady left. "JJ why don't you show Kyla around." she said.
"Okay grandma." J said and took my hand and helped me up. We walked to the back of the house.
"Your grandma's house is really lovely." I said.
"Yeah, it is. When I was little, I spent a lot of time with Grandma."he said and I smiled.
"Grandma's little JJ." I teased him and he laughed. He fixed his gaze on something.
"No way. Is that still here?" he asked and walked ahead of me. He stopped at a white bike and was checking it out.
"Yours?" I asked.
"Yes. I do ride it a lot when I come here for holiday." he said and my eyes went to a little pink girlish bicycle.
"Who's that for?" I asked pointing at the bicycle. He became sad.
"Jennifer." he said, staring at the bicycle. I walked close to him.
"Who's Jennifer?" I asked and he sighed, looking away from the bicycle.
"My twin sister." He said and I gasped.
"You're a twin?" I asked and he nodded sadly. "What happens to her?" I asked curiously.
"Well, I really don't know the details but, when we were both five, says mum, we all went to the beach and something happened. She drowned. I really didn't know how it happened. Mum said they couldn't find her body." he said and I could see his eyes were a bit misty. He must have really loved her a lot. I embraced him.
"It's okay." I said and pecked him. I felt sad about him losing his sister. We refrained and I that he was back to normal.
"You want to go for a ride?" he asked.
"You're sure?" I asked and he nodded. "Ok." I said. He gave me an helmet and wore another one. He got on the bike and started the engine.
"It still works perfectly."he said with a smile. "Hop in." he said to me. I held his shoulders and climbed up the bike.
" Shouldn't you tell your parents we are going out?" I asked.
"Don't worry about that." he said and started moving. We got out of the compound into the streets and I held on to him tightly, enjoying the sweet breeze. I could feel the wind in my hair.
"Whoa!!!" I screamed and giggled.
"Hold on tight." He said and I held him tightly and he increased the speed. It was amazing. We branched into the forest where there were tall trees.
"Where are we going?" I asked but he didn't say anything. He drove deeper into the forest. He finally stopped beside a lake. I slowly stepped down and took off the helmet. I looked around. It was really beautiful. It was filled with different kinds of birds chirping in the trees. "Wow, this is amazing." I said. He came beside me.
"Just like you." he said and I smiled.
"What's this place?" I asked and turned to him.
"It's a place I used to come when I was little." I said.
"Alone?" I asked.
"Yeah. I was alone then, didn't have much friends." she said and I looked at him in surprise.
"Really? You didn't have friends growing up?" I asked.
"Sounds hard to believe right?" he said and I giggled.
"Yeah." I said and turned to the lake. "So it's the same with the balcony at school. And I'm the first person you brought to this secret place." I said smiling.
"Yep, I guess you're that special." he said.
"You guess?" I asked and frowned.
"Sorry.. You are hundred percent special." he said and I smiled.
"I guess I don't know a lot about you." I said.
"Many people do not even know me that well, even friends." he said and I turned to him.
"Can you exclude me from that list? I want to know everything about you."I said and he smiled. He pulled me to a bamboo shade. There was a swing made of bamboo sticks.
"You made this?" I asked.
"Kinda.. come sit with me." he said and we both sat down. "Talking about my twin sister, I really didn't know her that much. Probably because we were both young when she passed away. My grandma said she placed a moon tattoo on our backs. Mine was black and hers was white." he said and showed me.
"Why?" I asked.
"For recognition. We both looked alike, same nose, same eyes, same lips, same hair, same height and everything. Even if she was a girl and I was a boy." he said "Even though I didn't know her that well. I still miss her." he said and brought out his wallet and from it, he brought out a small picture and gave it to me. I looked at it. I saw two identical twin of four to five years old.
"Which one is you?" I asked and he touched the kid on a yellow T-shirt and blue short. I looked at the other kid on a red T-shirt and blue short. She looked familiar to me, I don't get it. I think I've seen this kid somewhere.
"Is something wrong?" J asked.
"No, just continue." I said and gave him the picture which he kept in his wallet.
"Well, after the incidence we moved to the city and I started school and met Violet. At first, I was the new timid kid who always gets bullied. But Violet was always standing up for me and will do anything to get me out of my moody states. We played together, ate together and do almost everything together and maybe I saw a sister in her. She became my sister and best friend." he looked at me.
