KYLA'S P.O.V
It's the day of the game. I wore the Jersey Jeremy gave me and a skinny Jean with a low red shoe.
"Yes mum, I'm fine here. There's nothing to worry about." I said over the phone as I walked downstairs.
"Ok, I'm glad to hear that. I hope you are going to school today." she said.
"Yes, I'm about to have breakfast."I said as I sat at the dining table. I started eating.
"Ok, baby girl. Take care of yourself."she said.
"You too Mum. Bye." I said.
"Bye." she said and hung up. After eating, I went to the kitchen.
"Lorraine, are the cupcakes ready?" I asked.
"Yes they are."she said and place them in a container.
"Place it in my backpack." I said and went to the refrigerator and took some yoghurt and energy drinks. I put them in my backpack too. I'll make Jeremy have them so that he'll be strengthened and not feel real weak during and after the game.
A car drove in. "He's here." I said and took my backpack. I searched it thoroughly to see if anything was missing.
"It's all in there." Lorraine said, smiling at me. I smiled back.
"Thanks." I said.
"Kyle." Jeremy called and I quickly carry the backpack.
"Coming." I said and waved at Lorraine before I left to the living-room. "Good morning babe." I said and embraced him shortly.
"Good morning, you look amazing." he said and I smiled.
"Really? Thanks." I said. He was putting on his Jersey too. We both walked to the car. "I hope we're not late."I said.
"No. The game begins at 9 a.m."he said and opened the car door for me. I got in and he shut it. He went to the other side and got in. We drove to the school and walked to the basketball locker room. There were other teammates there. They exchanged pleasantries with Jeremy. We got to his locker and he opened it and kept his bag. He brought out his socks and sneakers. We both sat on a bench. He wore his socks and sneakers. I opened my backpack and brought out an energy drink.
"Here, have it." I said.
"No, I don't want it."he said and I frowned.
"You have to take it. It will help you." I said and he sighed and took it.
"Fine."he said and drank it.
"How do you feel?" I asked.
"I don't know."he said and shrugged.
"Such a baby."I muttered.
"I heard that."he said and I giggled. I stood up and took my bag.
"I'll see you out there okay?" I said.
"Ok, baby." He said and I pecked him before leaving. I went to the basketball court to find seat. I looked around the crowd. I found a seat and sat down.
"Hi Kyla."A guy at my right said.
"Hi." I said with a smile, even though I didn't know him. He sat beside me.
"I'm Derrick." He said.
"I'm Kyla." I said.
"I know, it's nice meeting you."he said, stretching out his hand for an handshake. I shook hands with him shortly. I watched as the cheerleaders came out and danced to the amazement of all. There were loud cheers for them. I had to admit it, Violet was quite a good dancer.
"Why aren't you among the cheerleaders?" Derrick asked and I turned to him.
"It's not a must right?"I asked.
"Yes, but most girls would do anything to be a cheerleader." he said.
"You said it, most girls, I'm not one of them." I said. The team from the other school came in their numbers. They were wearing yellow jerseys and red shorts. Our school's team also came out and there were wild excited cheers from the crowd. I saw Jeremy, it seems like he was looking for me because he was staring at the crowd. I brought out my whistle and blew it. He turned to my direction and I waved at him. He blew kisses to me.
"Awwn," some girls cooed behind me.
"So he's your boyfriend?"Derrick said.
"Yeah, pretty much." I said with a slight smile.
"He's always busy, how does he have time for you?" he asked.
"You know what, I just want to watch basketball. Can you do me that favour?" I asked and turned to J. He was amazing. He soon shoots the ball into the net and the crowd went wild.
" J, J, J, J, J..." the crowd chanted continuously. The game continued till it was time up and our team won as expected. Everyone was excited. I got up from my seat and ran to J. I embraced him tightly.
"Congratulations." I said and he carried me up and I giggled. "Put me down." I said and he dropped me.
"Nice work, J." coach said giving him an hand shake.
"Thanks coach." he said.
"Just one more round and then we'll be going for the state's championship." coach said.
"We'll do our best." He said and coach nodded.
"I know you will." he said and left. I stood in front of him.
"Soo, I brought you something." I said and open my bag. I brought out the container which I kept the cupcakes.
"Wow, you actually brought this for me?" he asked with a wide smile.
" Yeah baby." I said. We walked to one of the pews and sat down. I opened it and took one cupcake and fed him.
" I love it." he said and I smiled.
"One of these days, I'll make my special home made pie for you." I said.
"No way. You can't actually do that, can you?"he asked.
"Yeah, I can." I said. I fed him and brought out a yoghurt and gave it to him.
"You actually brought all this for me?" he asked with a short laugh.
"Of course, I knew you'd be stressed out so I want you to be energized. We're going on a date later right?" I said.
JEREMY'S P.O.V
I gave a short laugh. She's too caring, it's not bad though, but I won't be able to finish them all.
"Wow, J you are enjoying yourself without inviting us." Mitch said as he walked to us with some of the teammates.
"Well, my sweetheart brought these for me." I said. Brian tried to take one cupcake but Kyle hit his hand.
"Hey, it's all for J, okay?" she said and I laughed.
"But why didn't you bring for the rest of us? He wasn't the only one that played." Brian said.
"Yeah, and besides Kyla, he won't be able to finish all of it. Right J?" Mitch asked and the other guys agreed. I couldn't help but laugh.
"Okay, wait a minute." she said and opened her bag. She gave each of them a drink. I can't believe she expected me to have them all.
"And the cupcakes?" Roland asked and Kyla gave them a surprise look.
"You still want cupcakes?" she asked.
"Yes." They all chorused and she turned to me.
"Should I give it to them?" she asked.
"Yeah, I'm filled up already."I said and she sighed and turned to the guys.
"Alright, you guys can have just one each, no more." she said and opened the container. They all picked One each and it was left with just two cupcakes.
"Thanks." They said.
"Be sure to bring more in the next game." Brian said.
"Hey, don't stress my girl."I said and placed my hand around her shoulders. She giggled.
